Please describe your company and your position there.

I am a co-founder of a software company.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire ZenwayCode, and what were your goals?

We designed a digital check-in solution primarily for the health care industry. We hired ZenwayCode to build out a platform that is maintainable, scalable and with the latest and most accepted software languages and supported platforms.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We began working with a colleague that was coding for us on a part time basis. We quickly both found that part time was not going to be scalable enough to reach our goals and to provide a proper solution for the industry. We needed a full stack company ready to start in an instant and that could handle the complexities of our solution which at the inception was heavy in analytics.

Since we're a startup, cost was and is a big factor for us. We were introduced to ZenwayCode by a mutual associate and they were able to start right away.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

Enterprise level software which included initial discovery, solution design, development, QA, UAT (user acceptance testing) and launch to production. The entire project was documented and online project management software was utilized in a robust manner to keep track of the work.

The software is a digital check-in platform primarily for the healthcare industry that fulfills insurance company audit reports. The technologies that were used were:

• Front-end: React JS Redux Emotion JS
• Back-end: Node JS AWS
• Database: PostgreSQL

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

There were 28 team members from ZenwayCode's 40 person team on this project. Positions ranged from Full Stack developers, as well as Front-End specialists and Back-End specialists. An Architect, Quality Assurance Technician, Business Analyst, Project Managers and a Business Development Manager.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Expectations were met. Of course there were the regular hurdles but 90% of those hurdles were discovered during the solution design phase which saved a lot of time and money during the development phase. Not to underscore a pretty big hurdle but a war broke out as Ukraine was invaded by russia.

Somehow the team regrouped, made it to relative safety and were able to get back to work while balancing a very awful and difficult time as well as helping with their efforts in supporting their troops against the Russian Invasion and even supporting the doctors that were supporting the people and the troops. I can't say enough amazing things to describe this team. Above and beyond doesn't come close to describing ZenwayCode's commitment to their work, to their families and to their country.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

We utilized Slack, ClickUp, Email, Zoom, Snagit, as well as communication tools within Figma and Miro which were linked to Slack and email. The team went above and beyond to ensure we were communicating and that expectations were set along the way. Within ClickUp, we used Boards, Lists, Gantt chart for the timeline and Dashboards to ensure individuals were not burning out. We had semi-weekly to daily meetings depending on the project's demands.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

How committed they are to working and how cutting edge they are with the latest technologies while balancing tried-and-true.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We did realize an area for improvement and we are all in a better place for it now. We realized after getting into code development that we needed to stop and solution design with a full technical specifications document. This is a shared improvement as the scope matured as more was understood. Zenway's flexibility and having a business analyst as part of the team was vital to allow us to stop, regroup, strategize, and document over a substantial period time.
