I'm a CEO and owner of Notio.pro - interactive system of development. We will start from selling/renting books in our service and then reach into other areas.

We wanted to launch an e-book for quite a long time but couldn’t find the right team for this. We had just the idea and experience in the sphere. We were struggling in our search, as developing an e-book app is not the issue, the issue is making books protected from hacks. You are launched dug into research even before the development starts. Once they finished the research, they explained what and how it would work, so we were sure they would be able to handle all the points.

What were your goals for this project?

We are expecting to attract 10k users and have +10k books in the next half a year. So, we wanted a platform with high usability, protected books downloading, and a server that would be able to handle high load.

I would say project experience based on their portfolio and competence during the project discussion. They deeply understand the system's needs and explain why and what needs to be done, as well as what would be better to cut off.

Describe the project in detail.

We had weekly design sprints. They were sharing the progress during the week and put a list of business questions to finalize the UX of the app. The same flow we had with development. What is more, they provided access to TimeTracking & TaskTracking tools, so I could see where we are and what I can expect at the end of the week.

We have 7 team members involved - iOS dev, Android dev, ServerSide dev, Project Manager, QA, Tech Lead, and Product Manager.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We had a demo app launched in a month. So, I could show it to my partners and investors. Such a result allowed us to move forward with the launch process.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We had some small misunderstanding on the design stage. Mainly, they were related to floating work scopes between Demo, MVP, and Full app version. But all of them were resolved after arranging a call.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I would say - details orientation. That’s the most important trait for me. Nowadays, you can find a lot of experts who are using nerdy words, but not all of them are able to achieve the goal. I prefer to fight with causes and not with consequences. That’s the point where You are launched and I are on the same page.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Not sure, but I believe there is no limit to perfection.

What challenge were you addressing when you hired You are launched?

I hired them to develop our MVP. They’re simultaneously working on the full version of the system.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We provided them with a prototype and some screen designs. We asked them to code it in Swift to produce a fully functional iOS app. We wanted to test out the feasibility of the app, but we also wanted to present the product to investors.

I believe there are around 6 developers. I primarily work with Ivan (Founder) and Aleksandr, who serves as the product manager.

How did you come to work with You are launched?

I did a little research online to find a company that could provide an MVP in a short span of time. There are only a few companies that exclusively specialize in development speed.

I chose You are launched because they were reviewed well, and their website provided helpful insights about the team’s development approach. I appreciated that they provided useful information for free; it gave me the sense that they’re truly passionate about what they’re doing.

For the MVP, we’re spending around $30,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We kicked off the partnership in June and they’re still on track to hit their soft targets. There’s only a handful of things that need to be finished still.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I don’t have any key metrics to provide, but I’ve been a very happy customer.

I approached the engagement with solid expectations surrounding the look and feel of the app, and they’ve continued to deliver upon them. The team has been exceptionally responsive to my requests for adjustments and changes. When we discovered that the components that I’d initially envisioned weren’t technically feasible, they provided some strong alternatives.

How did You are launched perform from a project management standpoint?

I don’t have any prior experience to use for comparison, but the feedback has been great. I’ve been in touch with the owner of the business, who gives me a high-level overview of the project. Their dedicated product manager gives me detailed updates from the development team. It’s been a smooth and effective workflow. We use Slack for communication and ClickUp for project management.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’ve been most impressed by their speed of delivery. I wasn’t expecting the product to be ready so soon.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, not really. We experienced some issues when they were facing some internal turnover, but we can’t fault them for that. Our progress slowed for a couple of days when one of their core business managers left the company. They were always open and communicative about their own developments, so I didn’t mind.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Contact them. The owner of the company is exceptionally helpful because he’ll be extremely clear about what will and won’t work. He didn’t pressure me into getting the most expensive scope of services, either. He instead provided me with four very clear options — with their corresponding costs — and didn’t push me towards the priciest choice. Their expertise, coupled with their transparency, was extremely valuable to us.

We is authentication company focused on luxury goods. through IoT, we allow consumers to confirm the legitimacy and claim the ownership of high valued merchandise.

We had completed our mobile app but the design was outdated and we did not have internal mobile developers. We needed to upgrade the UI/UX of our mobile app.

How did you select this vendor?

We searched and spoke with over 15 vendors that showed strengths in mobile UI/UX. once we narrowed it down to 4 vendors we downloaded and compared different apps that were available on the App Store. We chose Molfar.io because the apps that they built were more visually pleasant and fluid than apps built by other vendors.

Once we selected Molfar they spent some time familiarizing themselves with the wireframes and the required scope of work, they then provided us with two separate estimates for two different approaches in how they could tackle the redesign. As progress was made they would send progress updates through slack as well as ClickUp.

It was a pretty small project so we only required a project manager and one iOS Developer.

This project made a huge difference because the redesigned version of our app is a much better representation of what our technology actually does.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow between us and Molfar was effective, they are communicative and get tasks done on time. Even when communication lacked on my side, they were still able to move forward with previously discussed tasks.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The thing that I found most impressive about Molfar is how perceptive Ivan is in understanding the market that your app is in.. rather than just focusing on the app he takes an overlook at the entire industry you operate in to get a better understanding of how the app should actually function. Molfar also pays attention to detail which shows in the final product.

We are 100% satisfied with their work.

We provided wireframes and visuals designs at the start. Molfar.io advised on some ways to optimize costs, such as using native controls instead of custom ones where it made sense. We had daily Slack conversations and weekly checkpoints, as well as used Google Docs to provide feedback after each weekly build. Molfar.io build the app on iOS and Android in an Agile manner, which showed progress each week, and addressed any issues uncovered during QA testing.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our app has launched on iOS and Android platforms at the same time and it is generated revenue on both platforms.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Workflow was effective between our team and molfar.io - they commented on our testing feedback in Google docs, and any questions were discussed in our regular video calls. We also used Slack regularly to communicate.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We were impressed by how quickly they developed our app, including setting up metrics for it. molfar.io really understood the needs and constraints we had as a startup. They really seemed to get what we were trying to accomplish and had good suggestions along the way.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Molfar.io delivered strong work. Once suggestion is that it would be helpful if they could capture decisions after meetings and circulate those notes to the attendees. Also, more emphasis on their own internal QA testing before code release - for example, we had an issue that impacted revenue, which was not caught as soon as it should have been.

We initially started with another company, but we wanted a different partner as we started on our third website.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Our site is massive, and it outlines six different meal plans, divided by gender. Users select a dedicated meal plan and a coach. The site also outlines a shopping list and an option to swap out meals if users don't like something in their meal plan. We have a daily weight loss dashboard and a daily water goal. The site also has a community page that operates like other social media sites. People can post and react to content, and we have a recipe page and a messaging system. It's a large, comprehensive site, and molfar.io built the whole thing. It's built in Ruby on the server side and React for the website itself. They also built an Android app for us.

What is the team composition?

I'm not sure of the exact team size, but I'd guess we worked with more than eight people. That included designers, developers, database specialists, and a project manager.

How did you come to work with molfar.io?

I decided to work with a Ukrainian company, and I finalized a list of three companies. molfar.io felt like more of a business partner, and they helped us come up with ways to grow the business. Their own website is also very impressive, and it felt like a good alignment.

We started working together around February 2018. Our plans keep changing, and we continue to add features. They're never getting rid of us.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

From an engagement perspective, our existing clients and new customers respond positively to the new website. We get a lot of good feedback on the changes we've made.

How did molfar.io perform from a project management standpoint?

They're great project managers. They're always available, and they're on top of any issues or bugs. The contract moves smoothly, and most of our communication is through Skype and text. We have face-to-face interactions, and they work during my work hours.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They go above and beyond what you ask of them. They think through all the scenarios, and they consider everything that could affect our performance. They make good recommendations, and we're very happy with the collaboration.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They're the fourth development company we've worked with, and they're worlds better than anything we've used before. I can't think of anything they should improve.

Come in with a plan, but be open to feedback. They will be a business partner to you, and they'll offer much more than any other development agency.

Was searching for a local company on Clutch. They were one of first who answered and provided with the estimate in just 2 days. It was quite important as we had a very tight with the schedule and budget.

I had a client that has an idea of launching a new app but wasn’t sure if there a demand on the market. Based on this, I’ve reached molfar.io team to support us with this client. Everything that they ask for was Executive Summary. In a day later, they proposed us 3 different packages how we can validate our idea with different budget and time.

So, we agreed to work for 3 months and create several landing pages that will present idea in different ways for different audiences. They just asked to approve, design, audiences, and budget for the ads. Also, they divided the price into milestones and sent invoices only after our approval of the done work.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our client was targeting on Sweden market, and one our website showed more than 20% conversion rate which is very good. Now, we are working on raising funds to create an app and I’m pretty sure we will work with them on this project too.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We had access to Kanban board and to Slack channel where the team was available. All the topics were discussed and there was no topic that was evaded. There was a jump on Facebook ads at midnight that could lead to quite big money loss. So, I tried to call and ask to stop ads, and that’s what molfar.io did right away. Despite the point that we are at the same time zone.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They're honest, straightforward, and professional.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Not sure. I had experience in working with different remote teams but this one left me very satisfied with the process and result.

I'm the co-founder and CEO of YogiBirth, an online pregnancy yoga studio that reduces the risk of postnatal and postpartum depression. Created by a midwife, YogiBirth offers online prenatal and postnatal yoga, meditation, and education classes to women and their partners.

We needed to design and develop the MVP of an app. My co-founder and I don't have a tech background, so we needed a partner. We were unsure if hybrid or native development, or an Android or iOS app, was the right way to go. We needed a partner that could not only build the app, but also offer strategic planning and help us understand the risks and rewards.

Our objectives were to design and develop an MVP, launch it on an app store, and attract 1,000 users in three months.

How did you select this vendor?

I found 50 companies and shortlisted four. Beyond a partner that met our cost and quality requirements, we wanted someone to challenge our ideas and respectfully propose alternatives. We didn't want them to build everything we asked without question.

I was sold on molfar.io after reading their website. The web content of most developers is based on showing what they can create, but nothing about how their work performs in the app stores. Their website explains their cheap, lean process and hosts well-written content on launch marketing and growth channel selection. I spent hours on their website.

I knew that they understood how to build an app and get the first 1,000 users. I contacted the team and solidified my decision. Their English was great, their speed was incredible, and their expectation management was good.

We provided amateur wireframes, a business plan, and a pitch deck. Over the course of three weeks, they have provided seven drafts of design ideas. Within a week, they provided a TestFlight login so we could view the current state of the build. This stage is still in process. We plan to publish on and optimize for the App Store in three weeks.

We had a team of four: one full-stack developer for iOS and AWS, one project manager, one QA analyst, and one designer. The two co-founders are also a real pleasure. They constantly come up with new ideas, are both fun and informative.

We have yet to publish our app, but we have the design drafts and the quality of work is incredibly high. The app was visible in the build environment within five days of starting this project. If I had to do it all again, I'd choose molfar.io every single time. They're bringing our dream to life, and they truly care about it.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

It's amazing. They're always on Slack presenting new content, ideas, challenges, and updates. During the workday, they respond either immediately or within 15-30 minutes. Their project management and expectation setting are highly impressive. Their English is brilliant, and our timezones coordinate well.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their speed is incredible. I've worked with onshore companies that charge 1000 times more and move 1000 times slower. They make us feel like their sole focus. They are incredibly patient, always justifying their opinions with the estimated UX impact; they respectfully challenge us when they don't agree and provide alternatives to keep up momentum. Most importantly, working with them is fun and their price is competitive. 

I'm also incredibly impressed with their English. Mentors warned me that communication issues are common with offshore partners, but their written and verbal English is excellent. That makes working with them an absolute pleasure.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Everything has been brilliant. The only thing I could possibly suggest is that they be more inventive with their designs. We love the design we've chosen, though, so that's a moot point.

I was researching app companies because I had some bad experiences last year. A lot of people online are running scams, saying they know how to produce apps but they really don't. I had mishaps with so-called business people who didn't know what they're doing. I invested over $50,000 last year and ended up nowhere.

Basically, I gave one last shot to molfar.io. I saw pictures of apps that they created. The one that really stood out to me is their app for cancer patients to inform family members of the status of chemotherapy treatments. I thought it was really beautiful, and it made me want to work with them.

molfar.io was quite good. I especially loved working with Ivan. He's a great person and very intelligent. They do the research and really know the market. They gave me solid advice on when is the appropriate time to implement certain features. I appreciated their urging me to find a market for the app and build the demand for it first.

How did molfar.io perform from a project management standpoint? 

Their team was perfect. Hands down the best app company I've worked with. They worked so fluently. Ivan always sent me updates. He’s 100% honest and straightforward, with a quick response time. He’d respond within 20 minutes if I sent him a message. They were hands-on through the whole process, weighing in on every single idea and feature. 

What did you find most impressive about them? 

molfar.io gave me so much knowledge. It's just not about the money to them. They think about the long-term perspective of the app. Usually when people create apps, they want instant gratification or instant success. Ivan let me know that it might to take years and not to expect overnight success. He encouraged me to think of the app as a business and how could my idea be of service to people. It really changed my frame of mind to think about how I can make an app that is of service and helpful. The best way to do that is to do the market research and listen to customers. They truly taught me a lot about app development and how important it is to get feedback.

I don't think so. Everything was perfect.

Just listen. The most important thing is to listen and be open to new developments.

I am the founder and CEO of FLY Concierge, a mobile app that instantly provides suggestions for food, drink, or entertainment based on the user’s location.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with molfar.io?

I needed help to develop my app and bring it to the market.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

I reached out with a PowerPoint presentation of my ideas and my business plan. I had the concept of what I wanted but didn’t know how to bring it to fruition. They came back with constructive criticism of how to improve it and make sure that it had either a special niche or made a big impact on the market.

After that, we had a six-week collaborative effort of figuring out exactly how to proceed. I would send them images of other websites or apps that I liked, or features that I thought should be implemented, and they would provide direction and draw up wireframes.

For a few weeks after that back and forth development, we had a beta product. Now, we have a minimum viable product (MVP) available for iOS devices through the App Store. The app is, essentially, a chatbot that enables users to interact with each other and discover new locations for food, drink, or entertainment based on their location. That required molfar.io to develop chat features, a responsive GPS component, and a way for users to make and filter out suggestions.

I’ve worked with three members of their team: the owner—who oversaw the entire project—the team leader, and the chief technology officer.

How did you come to work with molfar.io?

I had been researching on Clutch and molfar.io was one of the development companies that I emailed. I knew that they would be a good fit based on their reviews and unique development approach.

They didn’t just develop to reach the final product. At each stage, they had a product that I could interact with, whether that was a beta product or MVP. We would gauge reactions to that product to decide whether to proceed, improve on what we had, and develop a new product. I had never heard of another company approaching development in that way, and it seemed that it would not only save money but would also produce the best response from the market.

We’ve spent over $10,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our work together began in May 2018 and is still ongoing. We currently have a three-month warranty, so they help with maintenance and improvements.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

There were 26 downloads within the first 24 hours of uploading it to my website without any additional marketing. We’ve received extremely positive feedback from users, specifically regarding the design, UI, and UX. Other feedback from users has been focused on additional functionality, such as real-time GPS updates or search filters. But we had been expecting critique in that vein since we made the decision to release the MVP and let the market dictate how to improve it.

How did molfar.io perform from a project management standpoint?

The team as a whole was very responsive and would get back to me quickly. Our teams typically communicated through Asana and Slack, while the owner and I would have a Skype call once or twice a week. I have a separate day job, and the owner was very flexible in having conference calls with me during unusual hours, weekends, or the middle of a workday.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I have a partnership with them that I couldn’t find anywhere else. They didn’t just say yes to my ideas and collect a paycheck; they provided critical feedback because they wanted to see the product succeed. In one of my conversations with the owner, he asked me about my moneymaking strategy for the app and was very upfront about the fact that he didn’t think it would work. He wanted to see the app succeed, and didn’t want to see me go bankrupt, so he established an accurate download price based on market value. We had those difficult discussions and the team provided exceptional advice. They didn’t just give me what I wanted, they helped me develop something better and more successful than what I originally envisioned.

Additionally, they made suggestions that didn’t directly tie to the app but helped me, my development team, and my business. For example, the owner developed his own app, applied, and was accepted into the Y Combinator Startup School, which ultimately awarded him $10,000 for development. Based on that experience, he recommended that I apply for the school, which I did and I was also accepted. That was a beneficial suggestion that never would have crossed my mind.  

They also saw the project as an investment in reputation, both theirs and mine. One of their additional goals was to have my business added to a pipeline or community of successful startup companies. That demonstrated to me that they didn’t accept the project for the money, but for the opportunity.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I’m a firm believer that everything has room for improvement, but I really don’t have any criticisms of molfar.io. Our experience working together has been consistently fantastic, and I view them as entrepreneurial partners with a unique development approach.
