The project focused on the design, development, and implementation of an innovative virtual reality laboratory created to support education, research, and innovation activities at the university. The scope of work included concept development, VR environment design, technical implementation, and the creation of immersive experiences that can be utilized across multiple academic disciplines.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project has now been completed, and its primary outcome is the successful launch of the NeuroLab and the creation of a foundation for integrating virtual reality into academic activities. The NeuroLab is scheduled to be incorporated into teaching and learning activities starting from the Winter Semester 2026/2027. As implementation progresses, the university expects the platform to support innovative teaching methods, research projects.

YORD demonstrated excellent project management throughout the collaboration. Scope of Work and Key Deliverables

Our project, funded by a grant, aimed to educate the public on the health, environmental, and financial benefits of converting household appliances and utilities from gas to electric. After a competitive RFP process, we selected YORD to help bring this initiative to life through immersive technology.

Primary Deliverable – Virtual Reality (VR) Application:
The core concept was to build a gamified VR experience where users could explore a virtual house and swap out gas appliances for electric alternatives. YORD collaborated closely with us to refine this concept, providing detailed wireframes and storyboards to ensure alignment. They iterated through multiple rounds of development and testing based on our feedback. The final VR application was delivered on Meta Quest headsets and has since been successfully used at various city outreach events.

Supplemental Deliverable – Web Application:
Midway through the project, YORD proposed and developed a companion web application to allow broader access to educational content. Unlike the VR experience, the web app provides in-depth information about the benefits of electrification that users can access from any desktop device. This component followed a similar process of co-design, including storyboarding, prototyping, and iterative testing. It was successfully deployed and is now live on the City’s website.

Together, these tools form an integrated outreach platform that supports the City’s electrification education goals across both in-person and digital channels.

While formal metrics are still being developed, the project has demonstrated early success through strong engagement and positive public response. The VR app has been featured at multiple community outreach events, where users expressed enthusiasm and curiosity about electrification. City staff reported that the immersive experience helped spark meaningful conversations and made a complex topic more accessible.

The supplemental web application has been successfully integrated into the City’s public website, broadening the project’s reach and allowing residents to explore the benefits of electrification at their own pace.

Together, these tools have expanded our ability to engage diverse audiences and laid the groundwork for future evaluation and impact measurement.

What stood out most about YORD was their creativity in translating our goals into engaging, interactive experiences. They brought fresh ideas to the table that helped us think beyond our original concept—such as proposing the supplemental web application to broaden access or introducing games into the VR app. Their ability to balance technical execution with user-focused design made a real difference in the outcome of the project.

Are there any areas for improvement or something YORD could have done differently?

At times, we found that more frequent check-ins would have helped keep everyone on the same page. We had to specifically request a few meetings when things weren’t quite aligning, but once scheduled, those conversations were productive and helped move things forward. The time difference caused occasional communication gaps, but that was expected and generally handled well.

What challenge were you trying to address with YORD?

We needed help with a mixed-reality application. We were investigating a mixed-reality app similar to VR headsets. Not to mention, we were adding a digital overlay onto the physical world and needed external help.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The team helped us develop and design our mixed-reality app. I provided YORD with an RFQ and a document explaining what we were after. They did creative work and provided a document showing different creative options we could proceed with. From there, I selected elements I liked and disliked.

The team used Adobe Suite, Unreal Engine, and Xcode. They also relied on a type of 3D software to do the 3D modeling for the application.

What is the team composition?

I was in contact with Michal, the project manager, and various team members, depending on what phase we were in. I also spoke with Adam, YORD's CEO, at the beginning of the engagement. Overall, I worked with about five different key people.

How did you come to work with YORD?

It was word of mouth and my own experience. I visited another company in the Czech Republic where YORD is based. They had an event going on, and I saw another product from YORD being advertised there. I was very impressed with the visual quality they offered and the product's in-depth capability.

I asked a few people who created it, and they passed on the CEO's details to me. I reached out to him via email and asked if he’d be interested in working with Bentley.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around €30,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from October 2024–January 2025.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

YORD delivered an app version in between proposals since it gathered the best bits of their different creative options. This was an internal application, so it wasn’t public-facing.

We shared it with the design director inside the company, and he really liked it. We also shared it with a couple of other teams inside the company, and they really liked it. We’re currently in the planning phase to potentially expand this and try a second phase of it later in the year.

How did YORD perform from a project management standpoint?

The project slipped a couple of weeks, but that was due to us not providing the data quickly enough. Every time YORD promised to deliver a product by a certain date, they delivered it every single time.

I preferred a video call with the project manager to see what was going on. They showed me various presentations and documents to show progress. Moreover, we communicated via email, Teams, and Google Meet.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The quality they produced for the size of their team was impressive. Although YORD was a relatively small team, they had amazing talent and could produce amazing content.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Because YORD hadn’t worked with Bentley before, it took a week or two for them to understand our brand and exactly what we wanted from it. It was a little longer than a company we’d worked with a few times before. That was their only pain point. However, I’m sure that would improve if we worked with them again.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Create a clear document showing exactly what you want the project to be and what you don’t want it to be. YORD is a smaller company, so they’ve got to focus their resources correctly. They don’t have much opportunity to waste time, so it’s better to be efficient with them.

1. IAM app - yord has developed an app as a museum guide with VO and text describtion of each exhibit, adding AR to 12 of our exhibits to increase their viral potential for social media.
2. VR conductor - yord has developed this project from the scratch, desiging the teather and musicians, as well as the crowd in the theather. After we have selected the part of Don Giovanni opera and the part we will be playing, we have used an expertise of real musical composer and condutor Varhan Bauer to bring to the customers experience as close to reality. 
3. Mozart journeys - Yord has designed and developed the exhibit as our experts on Mozart life delivered the content. 
4. Ai booth - Yord has developed the face of the booth as well as the prompt which generates the Mozart out of the photo taken by the booth. We have only discussed the visual style and level of reality / animation of the characters.
5. Dancing Mozart - Yord has developed the character and with help of proffesional dancer they have captured the moves and were able to teach the character different dance moves which repeats in the loop.

1. App in illusion art museum has allowed us to provide better service to our customers while maintaining the number of museum guides, and provided us with viral boost effectively lowering necessity of marketing spent. It has also made us multi langual (14 lanuages total) what increases the customer experience.
2. VR conductor - highlight of the museum, we train 200 potential new conductors a day.
3. Mozart journeys - can entertain people for good 30 minutes if they are interested about every detail, which helps us organize the traffic in the museum while keeping customers occupied.
4. Ai booth - 60% of museum visitors do this experience and it converts into "the fridge magnet sales" as 10-20% of the visitors actually buy custom made fridge magnet.
5. Dancing Mozart shop window - serves as a stopper on the street catching an attention of go byers and effectively stopping them and making them curious about the museum. approximately 20% of the pedestrians are responding to the installation.

We have an account manager assigned to us, who is responsible for all the communication with us. Projects are managed effectively, we have been able to launch everything on time, even on tight schedule. Yord manages to keep our creatives in the realm of "doable" with the lastest technology avaliable.

Our main goal was to create high level virtual training application of FIRST AID. Application will be full of 3D simulations, interactions, sounds, images and tests. Solution will be available for the students, health organisations but also for the public.

We searched on google and checked the best VR/AR studios and reached few of them. The decision factors were price, experiences and time of delivery.

The VR Application is made for Oculus with 3D simulations, interactions, sounds, images and tests. People choose at very beginning the mode: 1. alone 2. more people. Once they start the simulation they are immerse in 3D environment with all the real elements. In the first scene, there is a lying person who does not react and does not breathe. The simulation shows step by step how a person in such a situation should proceed correctly in providing proper first aid.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

A project manager Adrian was responsible for the whole project and the communication. From YORD team, there were 2 more people we were in touch. The Unity Developer and 3D designer.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The application helped people in first aid courses to better imagine the situation and remember it. It monitors the quality of cardiopulmonary resuscitation so people can really see if they do it correctly. Also it the virtual world, script and gamification elements give unforgettable moments and guarantee good fun, and at the same time participants acquire knowledge of such important issue, which is first aid in emergency situations.

During the development, we had a 5 video calls, 2 offline meetings and we were communicating mostly thru emails. We used google hangouts for calls. YORD team communicated internally the project tasks and they always updated us on our calls.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They offered high quality 3D environment with all working functionalities we wanted for our users.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I don't have any suggestions for improvement. The project went exactly as planned, and everything was well communicated in case there were any minor issues.

I’m the CEO of Lifeboard VR. We offer a VR manifestation tool that can be used on any device.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with YORD STUDIO?

We wanted to create an application that helps people manifest their dreams and goals. Our goal was for the tool to be accessible from any device, including VR devices so that we could orchestrate an immersive experience. Since we were the first company to attempt this, we needed help defining our target audience and educating them on the benefits of such an application.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

YORD STUDIO has helped us design and build our application from beginning to end. First, we shared the requirements and provided preliminary documentation and specifications for the application. We also provided details regarding the backend platforms we wanted to utilize and the features we wanted to implement. After communicating the requirements, we gave YORD free reign to organize tasks and plan the design and development stages. 

The team created a series of mock-ups for the UI/UX design. Once we reviewed the designs, they started building the UI/UX and developing the front- and backend of the application. They made the application using a progressive web application, which runs online in a cloud environment. Additionally, they built the VR portions using A-Frame. After the development stage, YORD STUDIO was involved in the QA and beta testing stages. 

Users can visit our application to create customized vision boards and upload pictures of their life goals. Our application helps them visualize their goals in an interactive, immersive environment. We also offer a session mode that allows users to set a time limit for how long they want to spend visualizing their goals. We also have an immersive guided meditation feature that users can access from any device.

Furthermore, we offer an affirmation feature that enables users to document their affirmations and uses AI technology to translate their text into voiceover speech. Users can visualize their goals and listen to their affirmations simultaneously. 

The YORD STUDIO team also produced a promotional video for us. They were involved in all stages, including storyboarding, creating and editing the video, and mixing the audio. The video showcased actors using our application and essentially walked users through the VR features. 

They’ve finished building and launching the application, but we’ve engaged them further for maintenance services. In the future, we plan to continue working with YORD STUDIO to implement new features and create new versions of the application. 

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with different team members from YORD STUDIO as our needs have changed. We’ve worked with 1–2 project managers and 2–3 team members from each division, including UI/UX design, frontend development, and backend development. Our main point of contact is Marie (Project Manager). 

How did you come to work with YORD STUDIO? 

We initially found YORD STUDIO on Clutch. We compared various service providers and read their reviews to get a good picture of their performance and customer service skills. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with YORD STUDIO in December 2021, and the partnership is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We launched the application two weeks ago, and it’s very reliable, but we can’t share any metrics. However, during the testing stage, we received positive feedback from 200 beta testers. The beta testers were impressed with the quality of the virtual environment YORD STUDIO created. Testers also praised the application’s features and UI/UX design. 

How did YORD STUDIO perform from a project management standpoint?

YORD STUDIO has been a responsive, efficient partner. The team has proactively supported us through each stage of the project. Rather than waiting on our instructions, they’ve brought valuable ideas to the table, improving our application. We’ve met weekly to discuss the project’s status, budget, and milestones. 

Our project manager has given us direct access to the development team, which has been immensely helpful for our workflow. Their response times have been excellent; they’ve answered us immediately via email, WhatsApp or Slack. For urgent requests, they’ve communicated with us via phone to resolve issues more quickly. We’ve also used Jira to manage technical communication. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

YORD STUDIO has helped us make the impossible possible. The team has leveraged their strong technical knowledge to find creative solutions to complex problems. They’ve been motivated to make things happen; even if they don’t know how to do something, they work hard to figure it out.
