I am the Creator and operator of a social platform that guides users to find the perfect restaurants.

For what projects/services did your company hire Yati Labs, and what were your goals?

We wanted to develop a modern mobile application with advanced features on a small budget. Our goal was to launch the application on both IOS and Android with an easy-to-manage backend and launch within 3 months of hire.

How did you select Yati Labs and what were the deciding factors?

We searched on popular freelance websites and interviewed a handful of developers. We concluded that Yait Labs had the most modern portfolio so they would understand our designs. Also, after visiting their website, our team saw that they used advanced CSS styling that the other developers did not which led us to believe that their craftsmanship was above average.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We started from the ground up. Our team provided the source files for our design. We held a call with their team and deliberated on the UI and UX of the application. They provided amazing feedback from their expertise which helped tremendously with the flow of the application. We agreed to use the Flutter Framework with a Wordpress backend. In 2 weeks we had a prototype.

I have only interacted with the project manager and CEO of the company.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

I've received phenomenal feedback from friends and family regarding the prototype. After showing the prototype I received a small amount of funding to complete the project.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

The team has been very easy to communicate with. We have had many video conferences to discuss the milestones and progress of the development. Although there is a significant time zone difference, they are always ready to chat and answer any questions.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We worked with developers in the past that failed to deliver exactly what we wanted. Designs were always construed and functionality was missing. However, with Yati Labs, they were right on point with everything. We knew that our project was big and advanced and it would require special skill and their team performed extremely well.

For the first time, we actually saw our vision come to life. The team's communication has been diligent, and milestones have been met.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

There isn't anything that I would change or ask for improvement. They have been excellent in all facets.

I’m the managing director at Infinite Cabs, a taxi company.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Yati Labs?

We had used a vendor to develop our app and it was quite disappointing. The quality and service didn’t meet our requirements. We decided to look for a new developer for our project and hired Yati Labs.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They first developed one of the taxi fare calculator device applications, which is an Android app. It calculates the taxi fare and displays it within the taxi in real-time to the passenger, as well as to the driver. The calculation is based on distance as well as duration. It’s a private, in-house app that configures into the custom device that we use.

From there, we assigned them to another project, which is a taxi booking app.  They’re currently redesigning our existing elements on that software. They look after our entire business module and cover most of the work.

What is the team composition?

We dealt with mainly Ankit (Founder & CEO).

How did you come to work with Yati Labs?

I’ve known them for many years because we are from the same city as Ankit. We found him through his brother, who is a really good friend of mine. We looked at Yati Labs’ previous work, especially in the international market. Based on that, we felt they were a good fit for us.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent between $40,000-$50,000 AUD (approximately $31,200–$38,900 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in September 2020 and our engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Around 80%–90% of the work has been completed and we anticipate the work finishing in one month. Soon, we’ll do live testing here in Australia. They’re doing a good job with their quality, level of service, and creative ideas according to the current market standards. For every stage they complete, we do quality testing in-house and everything has been good.

How did Yati Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

Their timing has been acceptable. We use Trello and communicate via phone calls, Skype, and WhatsApp. Their communication skills have been great. Their understanding of our ideas has been strong and they also suggest their own ideas.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their knowledge of the current market and the standards, as well as their experience, have been really impressive. They know what is happening in the international market. Based on that, they always try to bring something different while keeping our competitors in mind. They always work to present something better than our competitors.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We gave them some new projects they hadn’t done before, so they’re building up their experience to work on a different software on a different project. The more they work with different clients on new products, the more experience and knowledge they will have.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

It’s very important that everyone has a good understanding of the project — that is one of the impressive things I found with Yati Labs. Every time we try to bring something new to the table, they get it right away. Communication and understanding are very important.

I am the CEO of Barchamped LLC, a social platform for people who enjoy nightlife experiences.

What challenge were you trying to address with Yati Labs?

We hired Yati Labs to develop our main product, which is an application that gives users an opportunity to find bars and restaurants, as well as access menus and drinks.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Yati Labs is currently developing our mobile app for iOS and Android. I was working with another app developer before our engagement, so I'd already had some app designs. Yati Labs has worked to improve those designs, upgrading our existing profile page. Their team also works on the development and design of some of our app pages.

What is the team composition?

Ankit (CEO) is my main contact person. I know that he works with other people within his agency, but he is our app developer.

How did you come to work with Yati Labs?

I was in touch with three people in total when searching for our service provider. Ankit was the one who took the initiative to go through the source code that I provided. We thought he was more knowledgeable than his competitors, and he really was. He communicated with us and embedded himself deeply in the screening process. By the time we had to decide who to hire, it was already a no-brainer for us.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent about $12,000–$13,000 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

The engagement started in June 2020, and we’re still working together.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

My main measure of success is the functionality of each tab in our app. Two of our testers have already pointed out that the app is easy to use and understand. The buttons also work and do what they’re supposed to do.

Ankit has been pretty great in helping us achieve these milestones by delivering tasks in a timely manner. Apart from that timeliness, he does what he promises to do.

How did Yati Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

I don’t have any complaints and I think they’ve done a great job in terms of project management. We communicate regularly via Slack. Yati Labs maps out their tasks well to get our confirmation before they start working. Once done, they present their work to us. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

We are most impressed with Yati Labs’ flexibility.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be open about what you want and expect from their team. If you also tell them your degree of knowledge and what you’ll need assistance with, they’ll meet you from there.

I’m the CEO of Fine Dine App LLC.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Yati Labs?

We hired Yati Labs to create a platform where bartenders and servers can create profiles that would notify followers of their work hours in order to attract customers.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We gave them our idea, and they built the iOS app from the ground up. In addition to building the front- and backend, they designed logos, created screens, and sent prototypes to us for feedback or approval. They even developed a website that would host our database and our administrative portal.

They really captured our vision. The app verifies workers and allows them to create a profile. On their profile, they can upload pictures and a brief description, but they can also post happy hour deals and videos to attract customers and drive traffic to their place of work. Users can then either follow their favorite bartenders, or look for new servers, and receive notifications when they’re working. At the bottom of each page, there is an address that users can click on to receive directions to whatever location they're interested in.

What is the team composition?

I work directly with one of the founders and the project manager. Although I don’t interact with them directly, I know they have a team consisting of an iOS developer, a frontend developer, and a backend developer.

How did you come to work with Yati Labs?

I’ve worked with Anakit (Co-founder & CEO, Yati Labs) before, and we had a great rapport. I knew that if I trusted him, I could trust Yati Labs.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent about $6,000 on this project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in January 2018, and the project is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We have around 200 bartenders and servers using the platform. Of those who actively use it, they average an additional three visitors per day. Let’s say the check usually costs $20, that means they’re earning an additional $4–$6 per day.

We’re really happy with their work. They were able to take our vision and bring it to life. They’ve provided some really valuable advice. For example, when we were deciding which operating system to build the app for, they recommended that we wait to build an Android version. They explained that as we developed everything and made changes to perfect the iOS version, we would need to do the same to the Android version, which would increase our expenses. Instead, we’re building everything on iOS and will build an Android version when we perfect the app and have a turnkey solution. It’s the little things they do that make them valuable.

How did Yati Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

Overall, the people I work with do a great job funneling information from us to their team. Despite being based in a different time zone, they’re always available. They take their customer service very seriously, and I really enjoy working with them. Anakit likes to under-promise and over-deliver. He won’t offer an unrealistic deadline, instead they always complete things early. Their team has integrity and will do things the right way.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re very savvy with how they code, and they’re able to deliver exactly what we envision. In any app development project, bugs will come up, but they’re very quick to fix any issue.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think there’s anything they need to improve.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Give them a shot. It can be nerve-wracking to outsource overseas, but this team delivers top-notch work. I was concerned about a language barrier, but we never experienced any issues.
