What challenge were you trying to address with Worthwhile?

Our overarching goal was to create an easy-to-use central website for our study participants and our staff to use.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Worthwhile has created our online portal, a website that connects to the portal, and a dashboard that helps us manage and maintain our study participants around the country. They've also created reporting mechanisms for our research. I know that they've used Figma for the designs, but I don't know what other technologies they've used for the development.

As for the functionality, Worthwhile has created a public website for us that launches our secure portal. It asks a handful of qualifying questions to narrow down users eligible to continue throughout the next questions. This platform also emails our study team along the way to let us know when a user is moving throughout the process.

When a user continues throughout the secure workflow, the platform stores and maintains their personal data, ensuring confidentiality and maintaining data security. This platform is also integrated with DocuSign so that users can sign consent forms.

The platform collects those consent forms for us, as well as some medical history data. Participants can also create accounts to view data on their own. The admin dashboard provides us with a comprehensive view of everyone in the system. Moving forward, we will continue doing larger implementations and ongoing maintenance.

What is the team composition?

Worthwhile's team varies from milestone to milestone, but on average, we work with 4–5 teammates from their end. Their team includes a senior project manager, a business director, a product manager, a director of operations, and a manager of business development.

I wasn't part of the team who initially found them.

We've spent over $1 million.

What is the status of this engagement?

The engagement started around June 2022, and it is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Since launching this platform, we've seen a huge increase in study enrollment for both English and Spanish speakers. We've also seen an increase in team efficiency within the admin dashboard. Additionally, we've achieved an efficient and easy integration with additional vendors. Overall, Worthwhile's work quality has exceeded our expectations; it is top-notch.

How did Worthwhile perform from a project management standpoint?

Our communication with Worthwhile has always been clear, effective, and on time. The deliverables have always been on time, and milestones have been met. If there are any issues, Worthwhile is quick to address and resolve them. We mostly use Jira for project management, but we also communicate via email.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

I would like to give a shout-out to Dan (Director of Operations). I want to thank him for being a very supportive partner. In this work effort, he has truly helped make our studies vision a reality.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Worthwhile's help with the design and implementation of this platform has been impressive, with a special emphasis on their design work. We didn't know what we were trying to picture when we started creating this portal. Still, their design team came up with the initial ideas and made the platform come to life in the way we needed it. We wouldn't have been able to design this system as well as they did.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There's nothing noteworthy Worthwhile could improve on.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

It's a good idea to go in with a clear plan and know which goals you want to reach ahead of time. Still, we didn't go in with a clear plan, and everything went fine.

Worthwhile delivered a public facing website available on all platforms that allows users to create  profiles for promoting and maintaining individual fundraising portals. A backend allowed the administrator to manage all of these profiles and keep accounting of gifts received and processed through a payment gateway.

The Worthwhile project team provided weekly status reports outlining achievements that were accomplished during the week and itemized upcoming milestones.  Our company walked away from the process with a functional and go-to market software platform.

• Integration plan review: Meet with Merkur to inspect plans and review code written to handle integrations, updating existing integration specs as needed, and tightening the go-live plan.
