Wetelo delivered a fully-functioning and scalable app, but it was a bit more expensive and time-consuming than I had initially hoped. Anecdotally speaking, they can execute anything as long as we know what we want to achieve and provide detailed information.

The team has been reliable, solid, and professional throughout our engagement.

They perform well from a project management standpoint despite experiencing some communication issues. They’re also very organized and accomplish their tasks by the book.

We manage the project through Trello and communicate on Google Meet and Slack.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t fault them for some of the more complex aspects of the partnership, but they should continue improving their level of communication.

I'm the Project Manager of the Anex company. Our team of more than 50 people works to support parents in more than 40 countries.

We had an outdated CRM system to manage our customers` requests. It was challenging and really difficult to work with it due to numerous errors and a lack of features. We have been working with the Wetelo team in the past, so there were no doubts to hire them again to develop the custom CRM solution that covers all our needs. Our goal was to create a tool that would help our managers to process our customers` requests easily and in a timely manner.

Communication between our parties was facilitated by a project manager. There were three front-end developers and two back-end developers engaged in our projects from Wetelo. Our main point of quality and smooth development was the QA engineer.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Our managers were happy to start working in the new brand system. It took only a few weeks to feel the difference. They reported that processing time has decreased and now they can perform more inquiries than before. More over, the new system allows accomplishing other tasks.

The project management was really good, friendly, and reliable. We got all responses and deliveries in a timely manner, and never missed deadlines. In case of difficulties or unpredictable issues, we were informed in advance as soon as possible. We communicated through Trello and Telegram.

We had a group chat with both dev teams from the Wetelo side and our website side which was connected with the new CRM. It was really helpful and made it much easier to solve some technicalities.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Only once we faced a communication issue when the problem wasn't fully described to understand it correctly by us. But having discussed this situation, it has never occurred again.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We received more investments once we launched the MVP, and, apart from this, we won more satisfied clients who enjoy working on our platform. Furthermore, we are collaborating on the next release to include more features in our product.

We hold daily stand-up, sprint planning, sprint retrospective and demo meetings with the team. We use Slack, Jira, Gitlab to coordinate the process. If there are any delays, they notify us in advance.

They are very enthusiastic about what they are doing, and their dedication is admirable. They treat the project as if it is their own.

All of our suggestions were taken into account.

We haven't gotten into measuring any KPIs yet. So far, we feel we're on the right track with them. Also, the engineer we hired has been doing a great job of helping us with quality assurance automation and implementation.

Everything has been going as planned, and they’ve never been late in submitting anything we ask for. For project management, we use different tools like Jira, Confluence, Slack, and Slack. We also create tickets for them to execute and track.

I can’t think of anything.

Do not hesitate to ask for more time, interviews, or more candidates. They're always ready to help in any situation.

We’re satisfied with the quality of their work so far. Their developers feel just like in-house teammates, so their work has been high quality. Our ongoing relationship is productive, or else we’d have ended the engagement.

Though they offer a project manager, we’ve handled this part of the process internally. We’ve had really smooth interactions with their developers to organize the workload. They’re flexible and accommodating, which is part of why we like working with them. They change to fit our needs and don’t impose their own approach. Though it was a slow start to onboard the teammates, we’re happy with how they function. They’re better at solving our needs than other companies we’ve worked with.  

What did you find most impressive about them?

They offer great value for the price while adapting to our way of working. Their team uses the tools we choose for time-tracking and other procedures. Other companies prioritize their own comfort, but Wetelo focuses on making sure our preferences are valued. We care a lot about the quality of our interactions with their team, and they’ve satisfied us. For example, their CEO wanted to have a call to learn about our company, which proved to me that they care.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Depending on the developer we’re working with, the language barrier has sometimes been apparent, but it hasn’t been a big issue. Although their project manager has a good grasp of English, improving their ability to communicate with us would make them the top company.  

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

You shouldn’t be afraid to propose a certain way of approaching the project. Wetelo is very accommodating and flexible.

The team modeled, designed, developed, and launched a new personal user account for our project. Besides, they created an algorithm and implemented the payment acceptance system we've come up with. We worked by weekly sprints. All the ideas and solutions were sent to us for our approval. All the necessary adjustments and tweak were done on the go.

Project management was mostly done via Skype and Telegram, which helped facilitate the communication. It comprised regular meetings to dwell on the project details. To cut a long story short, project management and communication were up to scratch.

The speed and quality of work, as well as communication, met and exceeded our expectations.

There is always room for improvement. However, at this very moment, I can't think of any particular advice.

We had a project that was out of scope of our usual work. We needed additional assistance from an external resource to help us develop a comparison website.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement? 

Wetelo developed an online comparison shop, user interface, and layout. I had the system designed elsewhere, and they turned it into the actual website. They created the database and the business rules around it. They helped create a customized CMS. We can upload products and allow users to filter products based on the color, size, weight, and dimension.

The main programming is done in PHP and MySQL. They use HTML 5 and CSS to create the mobile-friendly and responsive interface design. They did testing and still provide ongoing maintenance. They also helped develop a logo and brand for this new online business.

I was assigned a business manager at the very beginning to go through the scope and requirements. Once the work started, I was given a dedicated project manager who serves as our main point of contact.

We engaged them through Upwork. I interviewed several companies but I liked their brief and the detail that they put into it. Their rates seemed reasonable. Some of the other companies didn't quite understand the brief properly. I was more confident in Wetelo’s ability to actually do this job.

We started working together around January 2018 and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?  

This project was more complicated than some of our usual work. Wetelo’s good at creating design concepts, working through the revisions, and understanding the brief of what the logo and brand should be. The assigned developer is quite competent. I'm very happy with how they complete tasks. Their work is great. 

How did Wetelo perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re usually quite responsive. The developers are in Ukraine but the project manager speaks excellent English. Communication is mostly by email and we do Skype on occasion. Sometimes their email responses were a bit delayed. They’ll apologize if they were away and couldn't respond. They’re always courteous. I have access to the Jira project manager so that I can see what tasks have been completed. It allows us to keep track of everything, which is useful. They also give us weekly updates.

What did you find most impressive about them? 

Their team is efficient and organized. Wetelo led me through the process and made it comfortable. I was confident that we'd get results after spending this money. It’s also really helpful that we’ve continued to have the same developer working on the project throughout. It's important because he knows where things are at so we’re not wasting time trying to train someone new. 

Are there any areas they could improve? 

They could improve on their responsiveness to email, and communication in general. Overall, I’m quite happy. Nothing else has been a big issue.
