We needed help with AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) and GEO (Generative Engine Optimization).

What was the scope of their involvement?

WebSEM has implemented AEO and GEO strategies. The team has directly implemented advanced semantic markups (EducationalOrganization and FAQ schemas) into our website code to help LLMs read our business profile. WebSEM has also formatted and structured the NAP data (name, address, phone number), opening hours, and review ratings so ChatGPT could accurately generate a dedicated business card.Moreover, WebSEM has structured our website titles, descriptions, and bullet points specifically to make them easily quotable and synthesizable by AI models. The team has successfully triggered an interactive business block featuring the business type (education center), a 5.0 rating, a direct website button, and a telephone number.Moreover, WebSEM consistently places us within the ultra-narrow three-item shortlist generated by ChatGPT for high-intent searches. The team has achieved first-choice visibility even when testing secondary, highly specific search criteria (e.g., performance queries combined with a psychological focus). WebSEM has also proven technical stability across five distinct, high-value user search scenarios.Overall, we’ve seen a new source of qualified leads. The appearance of the phone number and the link to the site in the ChatGPT card shortens the parent's path from the search to the enrollment. In addition, the “⭐ My Recommendation” tag given by AI and the 5.0 rating work as a strong proof of authority for parents who decide where to send their children to courses. Finally, we’ve seen a direct competitive advantage; being the first option on a very short list of only three centers in Bucharest, EduCriss captures the attention of the modern audience that has given up the classic search on Google.

Since AEO and AI visibility are brand-new concepts, the initial onboarding requires a lot of technical explanation. Providing more simplified educational materials upfront would help non-technical clients grasp the strategy faster.Moreover, since platforms like OpenAI and Anthropic operate as “black boxes” that don’t share exact search volume data, it would be beneficial if WebSEM developed even more proprietary tools to estimate traffic or visibility share.Finally, because AI model outputs fluctuate constantly over time, increasing the frequency of automated validation checks would provide even more granular proof of stability.

We’ve seen a clear and consistent increase in direct referral traffic from generative AI platforms. Following WebSEM's AEO and GEO strategy, both our restaurant and guesthouse websites have begun receiving a continuous stream of direct referral visits originating from ChatGPT recommendations.

Because tracking traffic from conversational engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini is still a relatively new discipline compared to standard Google Analytics, having a custom, pre-built reporting dashboard specifically for AI attribution from day one would have streamlined our internal reporting process even further.Moreover, while their technical documentation for our development team is crystal clear, having simplified executive summaries or visual guides explaining AEO/GEO concepts would have made it even easier to showcase the value of AI visibility to non-technical stakeholders early in the campaign.
