Our collaboration with Web4You started with a discovery phase, during which they aided us in defining UX personas and software architecture (C#/.NET technology selected) that aligned with our requirements, after which development began. The product has been in the development phase for over two years now. As of now, Web4You team delivered a web application, custom AI tools that were integrated with the system as well as a mobile app and we continue to add new features together.

For what projects/services did your company hire Web4You Inc, and what were your goals?

Our automotive car lift manufacturing company was adding a new product group and brand for commercial parking lifts. Since it is early in the develop we elected to minimize costs by adding the new brand - Mass Park by TLS to our - www.tlslifts.com web site. We had a small budget to work with and time constraints.

Our current web site was 2016 vintage and would not accommodate the changes without a complete update. Web4You Inc completed the project ahead of schedule and within budget. Our domain name www.massparkbytls.com redirects tom our existing web site where there it has a separate landing page. The site has been updated to the latest Word Press content management software. We are extremely pleased with the results and how this was handled.

I’m a board member of the Canada-Ukraine Trade and Investment Support (CUTIS) project. It’s a project that was funded by the federal government of Canada to generate trade between Canada and Ukraine.

What challenge were you trying to address with Web4You Inc?

We brought Web4You Inc on to set up our website and manage our email system.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Web4You Inc created our website from scratch, and they used a proprietary tool to build it. It was a trade portal, and the aim of the portal was to introduce Ukrainian companies to Canadian companies. Until the end of January, Web4You Inc will still be maintaining our email servers in Canada and Ukraine.

What is the team composition?

I worked directly with Oleg (Owner).

How did you come to work with Web4You Inc?

I was on the board of the Canada-Ukraine chamber of commerce, and Oleg was on that board as well. So, I’ve known him for about five years. Because of a potential conflict of interest, we had to send out an RFP to four other companies as well.

The reason the board chose Web4You Inc at that time was their ability to deal with both Ukraine and Canada, which was important because we had more staff in Ukraine than we had in Canada. Web4You Inc had also done websites for other nonprofits.

How much have you invested with them?

The development was around $40,000 in total, and we’ve been playing close to $1,000 a month for maintenance.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with them in January 2017, and the website was launched in the middle of 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Had we not worked with Web4You Inc, we would’ve had a lot of problems in terms of internet connections between Canada and Ukraine. The team was able to keep our system running well. When it comes to helping small organizations manage their internet sites, they’re very good at that. 

How did Web4You Inc perform from a project management standpoint?

When there were issues with our servers, the team was able to handle them efficiently. It didn’t matter what time of day it was, they always moved quickly to resolve the issues. Notwithstanding that they had other clients, Web4You Inc always took care of us.

Their communication was good. Oleg knew us quite well, so anytime we called him, he’d come right over to our office. We met in person when we could. The deadlines were tight, but the team did really well. If there were any deadline issues, it was because of us.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Web4You Inc was reliable and quick when it came to responding to issues. They were able to come up with solutions without spending extra money. Oleg took a business approach to technology, which was very good.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could try to use more common languages in setting up websites as opposed to using a customized approach.

What challenge were you trying to address with Web4You Inc?

We had four Magento websites hosted by PrestaShop and we needed to migrate them to a new e-commerce platform.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Web4You Inc handled everything for our new e-commerce site. I bought templates, but the templates were not good enough, so they redesigned the templates for me for the different websites. They set up BigCommerce on this new platform and helped me with the set up of the special requirements that we had. Their team also developed an app for us for gift cards.

We have now grown to eight websites and Web4You Inc is helping us with adjustments and the customization of every website. They make sure that all requirements are met and that the sites are functioning as intended.

The websites are BigCommerce websites, so they are already pre-set. The basic operations are there already but we needed to add on special requirements that we have for these websites to work the way that we want them to. We give them tasks that they find the solutions for because the platform is limited in certain ways.

I am constantly submitting new requirements for them. It’s a short-term project but there is more and more piling on that we keep working on together. There is no end at this time for the project, so we are just working on it every day. It is constant because the number of websites is growing and I ask them to help me, which they do.

I work with Oleg (Founder & CEO) and I also work with two BigCommerce developers. We also work with one individual on the US side.

How did you come to work with Web4You Inc?

I was researching where to move the website and I found them through their advertisement on Google. Web4You Inc was promoting Magento services which I was originally going to go with. They gave me quite a good presentation of their services.

I contacted other companies as well, but they stuck out the most. In the end, the management in our company decided to go with Big Commerce and Web4You Inc let me know they could do that for us as well. We tried them out and it worked well.

How much have you invested in them?

We have invested over $30,000 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in April 2020, and the work is still ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

It’s not the project, it’s the cooperation. I constantly give them tasks and they constantly do them, on a daily basis. You can’t measure a project like that. I ask them to do something and they do it and that is how I measure their success.

How did Web4You Inc perform from a project management standpoint?

For everything that needs to be done, my company comes to me, and then I go to them. It’s good to work with them. I have worked with Oleg on transferring the old website into the new website three times on a weekend. Oleg was very helpful, and he worked with me until 2 a.m. or 3 a.m. in the morning, transferring everything and making sure everything was working.

I have even contacted him at 7 a.m. about something not going right, and he helped me out. He was completely calm and supportive while I was freaking out. We have a very friendly and professional relationship.

I like the way they have set up their project management tool. I was emailing them before, but it was too messy, and then they showed me the project management tool they have and every time I need a task, I can add it there. It is really convenient because I can see if it has been addressed, we can go back in time and see if everything has been closed.

It is convenient that I can do it from the platform itself and also through email as it works the same. I can add screenshots and add in code if I need to. I am happy with it. I also contact Oleg through WhatsApp and over the phone if something really urgent comes up. Otherwise, we are good with emails and the project management tool.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They are very knowledgeable and easy to give tasks to. They never say anything is too hard. You ask them a question and they come up with an answer. They are involved and want to help, but they don’t stress you out and say something cannot be done. They find a solution.

Due to some internal reasons, I hired another developer over the summer to do another app for us, but we are not working with them anymore. I transferred that work to the Web4You team, and they are okay with picking up and continuing on with something they did not develop. They don’t complain, they just do it. It is very easy and stress-free, and I like that.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Right now, I am pretty happy with everything. They respond quickly and they do what is possible to do. I don’t want them to improve anything.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I am really happy working with them. They are very knowledgeable and the resources they have are vast in terms of knowledge and development and any type of web-related presence. Go ahead and try them out because you will not be disappointed.

I’m a co-owner of Koota Ooma, a Ukrainian gift, toy, and book store.

What challenge were you trying to address with Web4You Inc?

We’d had two web stores that we weren’t happy with, especially the last one. Koota Ooma is a Ukrainian bookstore, and everything on the site had to be customized to our needs. We hired Web4You Inc a couple of years ago to build the site.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Web4You Inc designed and developed our website. We worked on the wireframes and documentation as a group.

After a couple of months, they integrated the site with Magento 1 so that we wouldn’t have any inventory issues. They implemented a Magestore web-based POS system and developed a custom payment integration. Magento didn’t come with a few of the critical backend features we needed, such as displayed product images within the product list, but Web4You Inc was able to do that for us.

We’ve mainly been in contact with their president, and we’ve spoken to a few team members about various issues.

How did you come to work with Web4You Inc?

Our previous developer disappeared, so we started looking for someone else through recommendations. One of my friends recommended Web4You Inc; he’d worked with them before, and he told me they were very reliable.

I believe the cost so far has been $20,000–$30,000.

We started working with Web4You Inc in January 2016, and we’re still collaborating today.

We’re getting many more orders than we were before, and I believe that the website and its design have helped a lot. We’ve almost doubled our sales on the website with the new design. It’s much, much easier to look for products now, and we’re very happy with that. We experienced a couple of hiccups in the beginning, but everything has been working perfectly.

How did Web4You Inc perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re very good in this sense. If they’re running late with something, they’ll inform us, and we’ll discuss the best solution. We communicate through phone, email, and Skype, the latter of which we use for tutoring sessions. We’ve mostly used email so far.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their team is very knowledgeable. If there’s a problem or something doesn’t work the way we want it to, they provide customized solutions.

Our team is a bit older; we haven’t grown up with a computer in one hand and a phone in the other. We needed someone who would explain everything in a way that we could understand it, and we got this from Web4You Inc. If something didn’t work, they found another person to fix it quickly. We’ve been very happy with their work.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We wouldn’t change anything about this company. We’ve communicated pretty well, we have everything in place, and we’re happy with them. If we need to update our website, we will work with them. We hope to use Web4You Inc for any other projects we have in the future.

I’m the director of distribution services at The Travel Corporation. I oversee the distribution of marketing materials and brochures to travel agents across Canada.

The Travel Corporation had been using a third-party logistics company to handle distribution, but we wanted to bring it in-house. Another vendor installed a warehouse management system (WMS). We hired Web4You to develop a web portal, which needed to be compatible with the WMS and allow consumers or trade partners to order marketing materials online.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

My team provided Web4You with the scope, which they used to envision and develop the online portal. They wrote the component to integrate the portal with web services, so that when consumers place an order, it automatically gets sent to our WMS and prioritized for our warehouse staff to fulfill. Web4You built a prototype, which we tested. They fixed bugs and launched the product.

We worked closely with Oleg (Founder and CEO, Web4You) to develop tests and review the system. His team supported the product launch and mitigated issues.

The portal eliminated all manual processes that could cause order delays. Our SLA (service level agreement) turnaround times are over 150% faster than what they were before the portal’s deployment.

Web4You supported us through the whole process; from design to implementation, we experienced no glitches. We used an online tool to manage the project and to communicate issues or updates.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their turnaround times were impressive. They quickly resolved issues and delivered enhancements. Within weeks of initiating the project, Web4You delivered a prototype and a system for us to begin testing. Their expertise enabled them to offer suggestions that ultimately made the design more efficient.

Nothing comes to mind. They were great to work with, and we had no issues. We will definitely engage them for future projects.

To ensure a smooth project, make sure you have a dedicated project manager. Having one key point of contact makes implementation easier and prevents scope creep.

The organization with which I am involved was registered under Canadian law in 1992 as an NGO made up mostly of volunteers and I am a member of the Board of directors.

Our mandate highlights the facilitation of bilateral trade and investment which includes organizing and managing business forums and we are currently involved with a trade and investment support program with a client in Europe. Such activity includes the development of certain electronic devices such as “export portals” which serve as a place for companies to present their information and investment and trade opportunities.

What challenge were you trying to address with Web4You?

In 2016, there was a major business forum in Toronto, and we needed someone to look after the IT requirements for it. That included handling registrations and keeping track of the speakers and attendees.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They set up and maintained an electronic record of our speakers and attendees. There were about 500 people attending at different times during the business forum, so we had to track those as well as the finances and other items.

We still go to them for IT issues, including our website, and for new ideas. They developed everything from scratch, giving it a better visual presentation to a website we had begun back in 2005. They also are managing all the email situations for our offices offshore and in Canada.

We’re now contemplating having an official database and are considering using Web4You for insights and guidance. They have given us good cost presentations, which are important; since our financial circumstances are constrained.

What is the team composition?

We interfaced directly with Oleg (Founder and CEO, Web4You), who brought in whoever was necessary for the task. We don’t have the background to interface with the designers, so it was preferable for us to just deal with him.

Oleg was already in our network, which meant that he knew our business and what our needs and constraints were. We did some research to see what we could get from other people, and the pricing we got from Web4You was competitive. They also had an allegiance to us, which was an important factor in our choice.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Web4You in 2006, and currently are co-managing a five-year, government-funded project for which the website was done within the allotted schedule—a matter of about three months.

Their contribution has made our work easier with the staff we have available. They’ve helped us consolidate our presence in the marketplace.

We’re halfway through a five-year project with our partner organization, and the government has a vested interest in this, given that they’re funding it. Web4You has enabled us to deliver a product effectively and efficiently.

We’re getting away from working hard, and we’re working smart.

We had a schedule to maintain with our projects, and they were aware of our constraints and delivered in time. Their experts conducted multiple meetings and created preliminary documentation within the allotted time in a clear manner. There were very few disputes in terms of understanding.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Oleg is cognizant of our needs and constraints, whether they be financial or related to capacity. He’s offered a number of solutions to us that are easy to understand, allowing us to make an educated choice.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They’ve delivered everything we needed and there was never a situation where they neglected our requirements.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

No. Since IT applications are becoming increasingly complex, we’re looking into the value of hiring on an IT person who can give us some intelligence on our needs, what we are offered and tell us whether we should be exploring different things or not.
