I’m the head of marketing for a worldwide crystal components producer. We supply crystals for the fashion industry, including fashion jewelry. Our company has 1,500 employees, and we’re mainly exporting from the Czech Republic to over 80 countries.

What challenge were you trying to address with WDF Digital Agency?

We hired WDF Digital Agency to help us prepare websites with landing pages for our innovations campaigns. We needed really well-designed websites to present our components in beautiful designs.

We mainly show our campaign websites to our existing B2B customers — who are then selling our crystal in their territories — and the brands who are using our stones on their products. The campaigns are meant to serve as inspiration.

Our customers include some of the world’s best-known fashion companies from Italy, France, and the US. These are brands that participate in New York Fashion Week and Milan Fashion Week, so we have to be on top of our design game.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We provided WDF Digital Agency with basic technical details and the main visuals, including photoshoots for campaigns. We discussed the goals of the campaign. They then proposed wireframes and, with our approval, developed the landing pages.

What is the team composition?

I worked directly with three people at WDF Digital Agency: Vojtěch (CEO), a project manager, and a member of their technical team.

How did you come to work with WDF Digital Agency?

Someone from another company gave WDF Digital Agency a good review and referred me to them.

How much have you invested with them?

We invested 900,000–1 million crowns (approximately $39,000–$43,000 USD) with WDF Digital Agency.

What is the status of this engagement?

WDF Digital Agency helped us with one campaign in December 2021, and also with the most recent campaign that we launched in February 2022.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

One of the campaign websites that WDF Digital Agency created won an award for design. Another campaign received an honorable mention and a mobile excellence award from the international Awwwards.

We tried working with other web developers for some of our campaigns, but we returned to working with WDF Digital Agency. We had a better experience with them and got pretty much exactly what we wanted. 

Traffic to our websites by territory was in line with what we intended. Most of the traffic was from some of our most important export markets: the US, Italy, and China. WDF Digital Agency gave us exactly what we needed for our markets, and coordinated closely with my Chinese marketing team to ensure that all text was correct.

How did WDF Digital Agency perform from a project management standpoint?

We asked them to prepare a website from scratch four weeks before the campaign launch date, so they had to be good — they developed the sites really fast. We communicated via email, phone, and InVision.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their focus on understanding our needs was impressive. Our requests were unusual, and they were able to work within our needs without pushing us in a different direction. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I would’ve appreciated having the same project manager for each campaign, or maybe the project managers could’ve shared notes from the previous project to avoid us having to explain all of our project requirements again.

I’ve personally known Vojtech a few years back and I was aware of the things they accomplished as a company.

We worked together from November 2020–February 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The partnership was very successful considering that the website was launched during the COVID-19 pandemic. The business has been slow, but the platform is still able to expand my brand and connect me with different designers and clients who continue to support me.

How did WDF Digital Agency perform from a project management standpoint?

The project was managed well as they were always ready to answer any of our queries. We typically communicated through phone and email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was very impressed with their youth and team dynamic, and was surprised by the wealth of their understanding and proactive listening skills.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It was a great collaboration overall, so I can’t think of anything they could’ve done differently.
