I am a managing partner at a venture capital firm based in Portugal. We invest in startups and help them go to Brazil for their commercial expansion.

What challenge were you trying to address with Vogal?

We needed branding services to create our brand’s identity, including branding strategy, branding book, digital assets, and website.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Vogal created our branding strategy, including our company’s logo, color scheme, brand book, email signatures, social media templates, presentation templates, and everything related to digital images connected to our brand. Vogal had several interviews and strategy sessions with our internal stakeholders to create our branding. Additionally, Vogal designed our website following the branding guidelines they had created. 

What is the team composition?

I worked mainly with three teammates from Vogal, including their CEO, an IT lead, and a design lead. 

How did you come to work with Vogal?

I found Vogal on Linkedin and liked their portfolio. I also liked that they were a startup like us, which made it connect with Vogal when we met them. After a negotiation process that lasted around a month, we decided to go with Vogal and signed a contract. 

How much have you invested with them?

We invested around €3,000 (approximately $3,800 USD) with Vogal. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with Vogal from July–December 2022.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The website designed by Vogal helped us increase the number of pitches we receive, which is now three times higher than before. We have also improved our social media metrics; we doubled our followers on Instagram and LinkedIn, our most used platforms. Overall, we had good results with the branding Vogal created. 

How did Vogal perform from a project management standpoint?

I was very satisfied with Vogal’s performance regarding project management. Vogal was always on time and on budget, and the quality of their deliverables was always high. We communicated through Slack and WhatsApp. We used ClickUp for project management. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was most impressed with Vogal’s prices, which are great compared to the quality of their deliverables. Vogal delivered high-quality work for a low budget.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything for Vogal to improve. We didn’t have any issues; however, Vogal has a small team, and I believe it would be hard for them to work on several projects at the time.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I recommend to have dedication as a customer. You should be engaged in the strategy meetings with Vogal. Strategy meetings are usually two or three hours long, but I recommend attending those meetings because they’ll be important for your project.

Vogal took over the website design and development of a company which did not succeed to do the job properly

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I looked for a reliable and solution oriented partner who could finish a holiday booking website within a given timeframe.

We reviewed with Vogal the current state of the web design and development and after a short allignment they started the activities quite quickly. Afterwards we had a couple of rounds for review and then we launched the beta version of the website. Some things had to be improved but these were fixed quite quickly and according to our satisfaction. After 2-3 weeks of the beta version we launched the website .

In total we wered with Paulo as coordinator, 1 developer and 1 designer.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Yes: they reached our expectation. Attached you will find the link to the website: www.nummertien.be. Knowing the tight timing and budget we were satisfied with the works.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow was well organized. Paulo coordinated everything and they used digital tools for the moodboards & shared drives to facilitate the exchange of information which worked very well.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Young but very professional organization with fresh and innovative ideas who sticks to their promises. I think the combination of both; being very well organized and the fact that they will make each and every project a success in an innovative way is what differentiaties them from others I worked with.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Overall I am confident that even when we faced some challenges for this project we wont face the same issues in the future anymore with Vogal. They're passionate self-learners with big motivation to grow. For this project we faced some challenges with the integration of the booking platform which caused some challenges but after a couple of rounds they found a solution and delivered it according our expectation. Sometimes when working with people/ companies it is more important to be confident that the organization will learn and is able to solve the problem then that they know everything already and dont evolve anymore. Vogal suits to the first case and we were satisfied.

I wanted something tweaked on my website, so I hired them to help me with it.

I just wanted to change one of the pages on my website, and they helped me do so. The site was built on the Hostinger platform.

I only worked with one person from their team, Paulo (CEO & Founder).

How did you come to work with Vogal?

I found them on Upwork. I posted an advertisement looking for someone to help me with my website, and Paulo reached out to me. He direct messaged me on Instagram; that really stood out to me because he went the extra mile to find me on social media.

From our conversation, I got a good vibe from him and we got along and he seemed like he could really help me, so I decided to hire them.

I spent around £350 (approximately $500 USD) on this project.

What is the status of the engagement?

We worked with Vogel from December 2021–January 2022.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I received very positive feedback from people who saw the website; I was so happy with their compliments. Also, working with Vogal was a very reassuring experience because I initially hired someone who was very unprofessional.

How did Vogal perform from a project management standpoint?

We began by communicating via Instagram and then eventually used WhatsApp.

What did you find most impressive about them?

To be honest, Vogal was like a breath of fresh air because they were just so seamless, professional, caring, and effortless. It was a positive experience right from the beginning.

Also, I liked how quickly and efficiently they got the job done — they would pretty much do it within a 36-hour window.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think there’s anything they need to improve on. I will definitely contact them again if ever I need anything tweaked, added, or changed on my website.

I’m the Founder & CEO of Hyperactive, a boutique design consultancy that specializes in the design and development of web and mobile apps.

Hyperactive was looking for an UX & UI team to help conceptualize a Web app for financial visualisation.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

I’ve known Paulo for some time and was aware that he was running his own agency so I got in touch with him about the project and went from there. The deciding factors were domain knowledge in financial visualisations, a firm grasp of UX design and prototyping and overall team attitude and commitment.

We did a project discovery meeting with Vogal’s team, and from there they started working on UX research in order to establish the best approach to the subsequent UX design. Key deliveries included lo-fi prototypes of user journeys as well as design proposals for data visualizations. Most of the output was delivered as Figma files.

Paulo, the CEO, was always the main contact but we have also worked directly with the designer and UX researcher.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project was demoed to a CEO of an established fintech company during one of the largest tech conferences globally and received the necessary amount of attention to allow us to continue investing in it.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Vogal was always open about their ideas and very assertive in the way they worked. Their project management is pretty straightforward, following the plan but flexible to change it when needed. We have communicated mainly through emails and Whatsapp, but we also used Google Meets for video calls when necessary.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were a team of young talented people, very dynamic and willing to learn along with the work they were delivering.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

No project is ideal, but we didn’t run into any particular problems that couldn’t be solved with reasonable communication and mutual understanding. I enjoyed working with Vogal and will definitely consider working with them again in the future.

The CEO of Vogal had a quite interesting background that combined web development, entrepreneurship, marketing, as well as finance. After some initial calls, the decision to work with this company was easy.

The work included Wordpress web development; SEO optimization; content marketing; alternative traffic generation methods, such as posting on forums, Quora, and Reddit.

Working with Vogal turned out to be a great decision. Some of the features he added to our website are still live today, and his traffic generation work turned out to be very valuable to our company.

We used Slack and other personal communication tools. Vogal had the flexibility to work on their own terms. In terms of timelines, everything went smooth and as planned.

The ability to ship the work fast and efficiently was what stood out the most. Vogal is a team of enthusiastic and entrepreneurial people, and that shows in their work.

Communication was fluid and we always got feedback openly. Their concern was always with improving our ideas to get the best result. We communicated via whatsapp and email, with some meetings via Zoom calls.

The speed and quality of the work and meeting deadlines. We were able to follow every step of the project development, always with an open mind with positive feedback and available to improve the site.
