The work that Vidico produces is top-tier. In addition to the creative work, the Vidico team is a pleasure to work with. Alway positive, always communicative, and even on extremely different time zones, we successfully worked together to produce a brand video that we're obsessed with.

Our goal was to explain a new feature in our mobile app to our fans and patrons in a simple and engaging manner. We wanted to show them that, by using this feature, they could get more value out of their day at the event.

We needed something turned around quickly and had worked with one of the Vidico team previously. Their examples of work from other clients impressed us but their step-by-step approach convinced us that they were the vendor for us.

We kicked things off with a discovery meeting where Vidico outlined the step by step process we would follow. After outlining what we needed the users to understand and what we hoped to get out of the finished video we collaboratively created a script and then a storyboard. After several rounds of refinements - thanks for your patience Vidico! - we arrived at the finished product.

Predominately worked with Bridget (Animation Producer) and Michael (Account Manager) after starting with Fiona (Head of Production). Everyone involved was a pleasure to deal with at all times and commenting on working versions of the video really worked for us.

Internal stakeholders and fans alike were impressed by the quality of the animated video and the simplicity of the message. Uptake of the feature was good and conversion was above 85%.

There was great two way communication with the Vidico team. If anyone was slowing things down it was from our side because of the tight deadlines of the tournament. The Vidico team did a fantastic job of keeping us on track towards the timelines.

They took the time to understand our product vision and what outcomes we wanted from the end product. With many different opinions and stakeholders on our side, their insight into what would make the best final product was much appreciated and ultimately produced a far better result. Their collaborative approach made things really straight forward from our side which is exactly what was needed at such a busy and critical time for the business.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Initially we thought we would get animated characters but this was a misunderstanding from our side. The outcome was far superior to what we had envisioned at the start.

Our product benefits from a 'show, don't tell' approach. The trouble is, we lacked an up-to-date product video that could clearly articulate our USP.

We looked for video production companies who could produce something high-end, end-to-end, that were trusted and retained by the big players in the SaaS space. Vidico's portfolio did all the talking. They were exactly what we were looking for.

We started with a discovery meeting, where our project manager walked us through the Vidico process, set expectations and connected us with the collaborative project boards in Notion (and Slack). After script writing and revisions, we moved into creative design, followed by video production. Various Vidico team members jumped in and out of our project as needed for each stage, which was handled very well.

We worked with a project manager, who clearly outlined next steps and timeline expectations. All work was shared, for the most part, in a Notion board, which made it easy to keep track of how things were progressing (like script revisions, designs etc).

We loved the video that Vidico were able to produce. We've been able to integrate it across our key marketing channels to improve the speed of our users' "A-ha!" moment. It's been brilliant.

The project manager and Vidico team communicated with us via Slack, and used the Boords app to help streamline change requests and revisions on video storyboards. They were always accomodating and usually quick to action any change requests or updates, especially with regards to iterations.

Vidico were able to bring to life - in our opinion - the best version of our vision. Their design and animation was immaculate. We were exceptionally happy with the outcome.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Just after kick-off, there were a couple of weeks where we heard nothing from the Vidico team. After checking in, they apologized and explained they ran into some resource shortages in the writing department, which had delayed our project timeline. To their credit, they worked toward expediting the next steps to make up for lost time, but in a perfect world, it would have been helpful to have been made aware of this delay proactively (rather than wait for us to wonder what was happening).

There were discovery calls, a detailed project plan with outlined stages and several dedicated experts on behalf of Vidico that assure the process goes smoothly.

We worked with an account executive at the beginning, then had project managers, video/animation production experts.

Project management was super easy - most of the communication happened over Slack or Notion & other specialized platforms for the storyboards and animation. It was laidback but sticking to the timelines as much as possible. It was very enjoyable working with the Vidico team

The quality of the animation and their professionalism are impressive. It definitely shows that they know what they are doing and we would trust them again for any future video projects.

The initial script needed a bit more input from us than I expected, but I guess this is normal when Vidico are not the experts in the field we are working in. Other than that - everything went smoothly.

I’m the senior content marketing manager for Mozart Data. We are a company that helps other organizations set up a modern data stack so they have the data infrastructure they need for their analytics.

What challenge were you trying to address with Vidico?

We approached Vidico to create a video that explained who we were and what our company did to our audience.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Vidico animated a 90-second video for our company. They also provided 3–4 shorter versions of the video for social media; these were edited well with brushed-up transitions.

Everything, including, storyboarding, script, design, audio, effects, was done in Vidico’s office. They provided us with samples from multiple voice actors for us to review and made recommendations. Once my team and I selected someone, Vidico oversaw the voice acting process from there. They also provided music and handled sound production. 

What is the team composition?

We started working on the story and script with two teammates, including the project manager, but then the animation producer took over the project for the rest of the process.

We spent just over $15,000

What is the status of this engagement?

The project lasted from June–November 2022.

How did you come to work with Vidico?

I inherited the partnership when my former supervisor left their role; I wasn’t involved in the initial hiring process. However, I believe we searched for vendors online and went through a vetting process with a few of them, but I am not sure.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The full-length video was delivered in October 2022, and the final files were handed over the following month. From an engagement perspective, the full-length video was our highest performing social media post this year. It received a 6.17% engagement rate and a 2% click-through rate (CTR), both of which were higher than on our average posts. It also was reposted six times. The final product definitely met my expectations.

How did the company perform from a project management standpoint?

They stayed on budget and all the final assets were delivered on time. Early on in the process, there were a couple of delays with the script, but we made up ground and got back onto the original timeline. They did a really great job accommodating our team and recovering after some challenges.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Vidico exceeded our expectations in terms of brand partnership. As opposed to mimicking existing designs, Vidico did an amazing job helping us expand our brand in the video space and determine what we wanted to emphasize. Their work informed the direction of our overall brand. I couldn’t ask for anything more from a design partner.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The project management around the script could've been improved but I’m very happy with how it turned out. It just required more work from both teams. I would maybe give them a B instead of an A in that area. I also understand that our product is technical and the scriptwriting was not an easy task.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Come to the project with an understanding of what you’re looking for, communicate expectations, and make sure everyone on your team is on the same page. Also, prioritize returning feedback to them to avoid delays.

Looking to launch our brand, we needed an explainer video that would clearly lay out what we do as a business and how exactly we do that. This video needed to explain both a variety of components and a number of different use cases to our potential customers.

Vidico was one of the few companies we can across who seemed to place a lot of focus on understanding our brand and not just cranking out an explainer video quickly based on our passed assets alone. They were able to spend a lot of time really understanding both the look, feel and tone of our brand and how our business worked. They asked a lot of important questions and gave great suggestions on how we could best deliver our message to consumers through our explainer video.

The process was really easy and well organized. Vidico provided us with a calendar timeline so we always knew where things stood in the process. They also keep in regular touch through both emails and phone sessions when needed.

First, we worked with Felipe, an Account Executive, who onboarded us and throughly explained what the deliverables would be and what we should expect throughout the entire process step by step. Next, we worked with Erin, our Project Engagement Manager, who listened to our wants and needs and really took an interest in getting to know and understand our brand and how it works. The feedback process was very efficient. Each step of the way, we were given a deliverable and then given sufficient time to review the content, ask questions and request any changes we felt were needed.

The main goal for this was to be able to explain the product in a simple and intuitive manner. Since it's quite complex software, we wanted to try and be able to showcase this to someone with no tech background, and have them understand the main value drivers of the company and what we are trying to solve.

We liked the animation style and step-by-step commitment they had to the project. Since this was a first for us, we were allowed to have so many revisions and very open dialogues about what we liked and what we didn't like. The process was seamless.

Unified the company vision into what we believe was the best way to portray our narrative. That was the biggest value outtake. Ontop of that, we were able to recycle this video into several ads, use the the video on our social media channels and website.

They used a system of having everything on dropbox. A master file that allowed us to see all the previous revisions, suggestions, and information we have inputted from the beginning of the project.

The creative concepts were impressive. Although we went through various revisions, fine-tuning what was already done, we thought they pictured everything how we wanted in the end.

I was expecting a different style of animation. I suppose more fluid and less isometric. All in all, we were happy with the results.

We started with a discovery meeting. They worked with us to understand our product before helping us create a script and storyboard. In the end, they delivered a one-minute animated explainer video with a professional voice over on the Globally United ethos and main highlights of our platform.

We worked with a project coordinator who outlines the project and kept us on schedule. After each milestone we would give them feedback and they would communicate it to the relevant team. They shared their progress updates with us on a regular basis.

We worked with Rob for the video - he was great to work with and was very accommodating to our requests throughout the project. - The outcome of the video was great - We had the flexibility of the team to go back and make tweaks along the way which was handy - At no point did it feel conflicting/confronting - the project was quite collaborative

Very friendly and professional people. The photoshoot/video shoot days were hectic but the Vidico team was able to act and make decisions on the fly which allowed for the delivery of high-quality assets for our Pago launch and marketing comms.

All great - just one area where things could have been tighter which was discussed and improved on early on in the project.
