We had already spent several weeks developing our script and deciding what we wanted to do. We also produced a voice over to assist the video producers and voice over artist. We provided this to Video chef who suggested we break the project into 4 milestones - rough sketches, refined drawings, voice over and animation production

We worked with Ahmed who was excellent at guiding us through the process.

I have shown the video to existing customers and prospects and received really positive feedback on the professional quality of the production, and they agreed that we have really explained our proposition in less than 3 minutes.

Vertical video post-production using still and video assets supplied by the client. Most video editors will lack creative ability to think outside the box and turn a few images and a logo into an engaging video.

Video Chef was able to perfectly craft 15-second vertical videos for us that met the brief (actually surpassed the brief). They are great to deal with and this will not be the last time we use them.

They were given a folder of assets and a one page brief and then given full creative freedom to design our videos for reels and advertising.

I was impressed with the outcome of the videos and the ability to take their creative freedom but still align it with the brands look and feel.

We wanted to expand our video content, specifically by creating a series of tutorials detailing how to use our platform, from showing customers how to set up events to explaining different features of the platform, and how to integrate different applications/platforms. We wanted to build a library of video tutorials for our users to access when creating events on our platform.

After looking at their portfolio of previous work and finding that it matches what we had in mind and reading positive reviews from previous clients, we reached out to them with what we had in mind.

We began by outlining what sort of content we'd like to create with Video Chef's help. For our tutorial videos, we provide a demo video and the script (in the times that we don't have a script, they help create one for the video), and Video Chef turns it into a full-fledged video. They provide us with a storyboard, selection of voiceover artists, add animations where needed, and of course, provide the final product. After a round of edits, we have a great tutorial that we're proud to post and share with our users (thanks guys!).

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

We work mainly with Bilal and Klemen, creating content with them is a breeze. Even when we have a tutorial that is quite complicated (like how to integrate our platform and with another one), they're able to understand how the process works very quickly and ask the right questions. When edits are needed, the team gets back to us with changes very quickly.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Compared to materials like PDF manuals and FAQ questions, video tutorials have made it easier and faster for our users to get their questions answered. It has also helped us significantly grow and improve our YouTube channel, and makes life a little easier for our support team.

We communicate through email, and all parts of the project (storyboards, scripts, videos) are all shared with us on Google Drive, making it easy to find what we're looking for. The team is always great with delivering edits in a timely way (usually within a day or two), and accomodating us if we have delays on our end.

They are able to grasp how our platform works very quickly with minimal guidance from our side, and we're always happy with the speed at which we receive edits/feedback.

Nothing comes to mind.

VIDEO CHEF has produced 10 custom videos for me to date — their deliverables are very high quality. Now that I'm working with VIDEO CHEF, I have many more video views and channel subscriptions. I’ve also had more users on my platform. 

How did VIDEO CHEF perform from a project management standpoint?

VIDEO CHEF meets all deadlines — they deliver quickly and within budget. The two teammates I communicate with relay information to the video team, making communication less complicated between our companies. We use Skype for our meetings and Google Drive to share scripts and storyboards.

We were on a very tight schedule and it was also the first time for ordering a video, so we had no knowledge of the process and what to expect.

How did you select VIDEO CHEF?

I saw a lot of positive reviews from other clients, work examples were in the style we envisioned for our videos so the choice was made, after a brief comparison.

It took us some time to kick things off the ground, as DKSH is a very large organization with a lot of formal processes, but once we agreed on the terms the team worked fast. I liked the most: - very structured approach on what is done when - the starting script forced us to focus on the main idea we wanted to communicate. - excellent taste and attention to detail.

What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?

We communicated via WhatsApp, all the files were on Google drive so easy to edit and provide feedback. The team is very punctual and always gave me a heads up on how long this or that change will take and what are the options, no last minute surprises.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our cases won whopping 9 eCommerce awards by the Marketing Magazine, and DKSH came 3rd as an Agency of the Year because of that result. I am sure the videos were a big part of this success as they helped us to communicate a long story in a short, engaging way making it also fun for the jury to watch.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

I am based in Asia, so the time difference worked in our favor.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I was so impressed by how intelligent the team is. They don't know anything about our business, but they grasped the idea and the situation 100% so I had to give very little directions or feedback.

The other thing is the initiative. The team searched for things like client logos or product image, designed the video theme that reflected both DKSH and the client colors, independently, so I didn't have to provide every image in the video - and these images very correct, for the right country.

Are there any areas for improvement?

We would save a lot of time if there was a FAQ for a "first-time video client", to manage expectations and answer small things like "what is the difference between services" etc).

We needed to create explainer videos to address our product in a short timeframe.

They created two videos for me. The goal was to create a short, animated video that explains the products and services we have to offer. I created the script, and they handled the design and animation. We outsourced the voice acting to an external party. The end results were about 60 seconds long.

It took a while before I got around to engaging them for the first video, and they waited patiently for me to be prepared. The relationship was built on trust, and he exemplified that well.

We started the engagement in mid-2017, and the video was complete at the end of 2019. The delay was on my end. They had the videos done within weeks of starting up. The second video production lasted from December 2019–January 2020.

I think we could have been more responsive to Saher's questions and requests, but because we had several other projects going on simultaneously it was difficult to get back to her quickly. The problems we encountered were really on our end not hers. She was excellent.
