We are very happy with their work. They have provided an added value to our services. Also, they were not very familiarized with our industry, and they were able to learn everything about it right away. As for metrics, we don’t have any yet because we will launch the new platform next year.

We did some research on the local IT market to find companies that could provide the services we needed. We evaluated different companies and ended up choosing them as they seemed like the right choice for us on a technical and budget level.

We have monthly service performance reviews to evaluate the performance and rate of solved incident tickets and they have been doing well. We have started working with them recently, so there is a learning curve, but they have shown great commitment and good performance.

We used our own management tools, which our company uses globally. We also used corporate Skype, email, and more. So far, their communication has been very good and they have met all established deadlines.

Their commitment stands out. They’re willing to evolve every day.

We haven’t launched the site yet, so I can’t talk about the impact, but I found the team to be very professional. They managed to understand our requirements that were quite complex, connecting the different phases to achieve a user-friendly design.

They met all the deadlines, and their project management was excellent. They didn’t hesitate to add their own ideas. They ended up doing more than what we asked for, and the results were great.

What challenge were you trying to address with Vertex Ray?

Our sizeable international client requested a custom development. We hired Vertex Ray to help us design all the screens for the mobile app. They worked on all the user interface and user experience designs.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Vertex Ray helped us design the UX/UI for our client’s custom mobile app development project. We created versions for both iOS and Android. They used an assortment of mockups, PDFs, and a special app to create dynamic designs. Using a website-based tool, they published the app’s screens to show us how it would look after we finished coding. The prototype included all the interactions and animations. Vertex Ray sent us the final designs on Adobe Illustrator in the form of .png, and .jpg files.

What is the team composition?

I was directly in touch with a project manager, a resource from the commercial area, and a team of three designers and developers. From my understanding, Vertex Ray has a bigger team internally.
 
How did you come to work with Vertex Ray?

We defined benchmarks for the company we wanted to work with before starting our search. Then, we considered several vendors in South America for this project. After interviewing different options, we felt that Vertex Ray understood our project the best.

We worked together from January–June 2017. The project lasted for about six months.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

In general, our collaboration was excellent. We are a relatively small company. But with a presence in 17 countries, our client is huge, so this project involved unique complexities. Vertex Ray was always open to adapting our their style. They produced exactly what our client needed without sacrificing any ideas. Vertex Ray delivered neat, fantastic quality work. Ultimately, the client was very satisfied.

How did Vertex Ray perform from a project management standpoint?

The team used Trello to provide daily updates, so I always knew what they were working on. At the beginning of the project, we held follow-up meetings twice a week. Later on, we scaled back to having discussions once a week. Our communication was very fluid. We never had any issues with project management.

Vertex Ray excels at consulting. They always took the time to analyze the ideas we provided. The insight and ideas the team contributed helped us substantially.

I was a principal architect and new technologies manager. I was assigned by the corporation to lead projects with big clients to take them from emerging technologies to big corporate accounts.

I hired them to work with a technical group on dashboards and interactive visualizations for management processes and operation indicators of the company. We wanted a dynamic, adaptable, and very fast solution that would impress and delight our clients.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They used Silverlight, HTML5, SAP backends, and other integration systems. It was a very complex group. It was especially challenging because the technologies, service platforms, and the warehouse are all custom-made with basic technology and their developments were custom-made. We needed a partner on the visual side who could create something interactive and also understand the technological complexity of the service.

They were recommended for their UX quality. I chose them from three options who had very visual references. We chose them for their skills with the technologies involved, their personnel, their previous work, and budget.

The client adopted the technology. We opened a new business line with the client and met expectations on everything.

How did Vertex Ray perform from a project management standpoint?

They were very professional. They really stood out because of their discipline with time and organization. They had weekly follow-ups. They were very strict and worked very well. They delivered great weekly reports and always met deadlines.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their capacity to adapt to the client's complicated demands was remarkable. The companies sometimes have 20 demands and some demands were capricious, so they had to be adaptable. They were able to adapt very well without creating friction with the company.

Are there any areas they could improve?

As a small company, they sometimes needed more developers. However, they are working to improve this by creating networks with other companies to work together and cover bigger developments.

We’re a software development company that sells products. We have an RP of medium- to large-size companies in Latin America as well as an RP that is a specialized program for professionals (e.g., firms, lawyers, actuaries). I’m a partner of the company.

We made an agreement for them to develop a product that manages hours and expenses for professional firms. It’s a small and cheap system in the form of a software-as-a-service (SaaS) with a friendly interface. It was a new business product and they were in charge of the technology.

We used Microsoft Silverlight for the frontend and SQL for the database.

We worked with one project manager and one developer.

How did you come to work with Vertex Ray?

We came into contact with them during some meetings at the German Chamber because we were on the same committee. I noticed they had great technological capabilities regarding graphic interfaces, so they showed me some of their past projects. We were looking for a very good UX and we liked their work, so we decided to hire them.

We started working with them about five years ago. The project lasted for about a year and a half.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Although the product itself was cheap, it was expensive to find a new client and we didn’t manage to sell it. This was a commercial matter and not relative to Vertex Ray’s work. The product had a good interface and met all of our expectations regarding quality.

How did Vertex Ray perform from a project management standpoint?

We used Trello. The project management was very professional and they met all the deadlines. It wasn’t a huge project that required additional management tools.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their main strength was their graphic user interface skills. They’re very good in that area.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There are always things to improve. We had a couple performance problems we had to solve. We weren’t very clear during the beginning of the project about who was in charge of the database optimization, but this was also a misunderstanding on our side.
