We are artisans and we wanted to tell our story focusing on the importance of our tailoring approach in industrialised field like the mechanical one. At the same time, we wanted to create something shocking and interetsing at first sight. The staff of Velvele really did an amaing job mixing our traditional soul and our high level postioning on the market, focusing on the quality of everything: cover and back (they used a sort of reflective paper in order to re-create the feeling of materials like steel and alluminium), photography, paper, graphic design, illustrations and even printing.

Whenever I give our brochure designed by Velvele, to one of my clients, they all are surprised to see something like this. It really helped us to distinguish ourselves from all the other companies in the mechanical sector.

I’m the sales and marketing manager at K-Composites S.R.L., a plastic fabrication company.

What challenge were you trying to address with vve.design?

We needed help with graphic design.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

First, vve.design came up with the graphic proposal for our booth, which would have printed images. The second task was to produce a foldable brochure of our company, technologies, products, and fields of application. We already had the logo, which appeared on various walls of our booth.

We initially shared a general introduction to our business fields, our company, and our competitors. We also shared images and material from our previous exhibitions and a series of technical documentation, including specific information about our products, what we do, and our core technologies. Another information source was our website, which was already in place, and vve.design used it as a guideline.

What is the team composition?

We worked with the founder/creative director and someone on graphic design.

How did you come to work with vve.design?

I followed them for a while on the recommendation from a few people. I didn’t have the need at the time, but when this project came up, I got in touch with them.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent between €5,000–€10,000 (approximately $5,500–$11,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from March–April 2023.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We had the chance to evaluate the outcome of the redesign. First, we compared what we achieved internally as a graphic solution for last year’s booth. This year’s results were significantly better in many ways. All existing customers who visited us were very pleased to see the new graphic designs. They were also impacted and found interesting in what we had to show them. The new leads from the fair were impressed, but they didn’t know what we had in the past.

Secondly, our team managers and the owners were satisfied with the outcomes. They were impressed with the graphic design and the brochure.

How did vve.design perform from a project management standpoint?

They met deadlines, and everything was within budget. Moreover, vve.design was responsive, and communication was easy. We had a series of meetings during the collaboration to fine-tune the work. We used emails, calls, chats, and in-person meetings when needed.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We were impressed with their professional response to our requests. They gave good advice to get the best outcome. When it was a no-go, they gave explanations and were very clear. Overall, we trusted them during the process.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, we even plan to extend the collaboration due to the positive outcome.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Know what you want to achieve, and be prepared with examples and documents. Moreover, be very open to their suggestions; they have experience.

We needed a branding design that can work both in B2B and B2C. We hired them to build a branding structure for our company and create supporting visuals graphics such as poster, gadgets, gift products, etc..

The project's goal is to create a brand that has the soul of an old racing theme and have people use our branded items as cool elements to help us market our brand.

Considering previous experiences of vve.design with the multi-disciplinary field and thanks to their creative director, Cagil Aygen's extraordinary strategic creative mind, are enough to convince us to work with them.

They create a complete branding system with a well-prepared branding guide covering any future advertisement layout, illustration styles, beer label system, stationary, uniforms, vehicle branding, color palette, slogan, and even naming for our beers!

What was the team composition?

The project was managed mostly by their creative director; he managed all his team and even 3rd party designers that joined the project for their particular skills, such as web design, illustration, and product design.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

As soon as we launched our new brand, we received a huge demand for our branded gadgets that we sold out everything we have!

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

They are super-organized and systematic with their working progress. Honestly, at first, we have a hard time catch-up their strong systematic workflow, and the project had a delay because of us. Later on, we managed to follow their rhythm, and the project finalized perfectly.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They are the "strategic" branding agency. Their creativity focuses on our brand's success rather than the satisfaction of our personal desires.

Are there any areas for improvement?

They are not for everyone. They have a particular mindset and workflow that may hard to catch up with them. However, that makes them unique and special!

I needed someone to design album covers and other materials.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They designed the album covers for Spotify and other digital platforms. They also created booklets. I explained what I needed, but I didn’t provide sketches. They came back with 16 alternatives to choose from. We narrowed it down to three of them. We walked through them together to decide which one would have the greatest impact.

We started working together from April-May 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They were very helpful. I was easily able to find what I wanted and the project was easier than I anticipated. We even ended up using their designs for Instagram Ads. The album was able to generate a significant number of views on YouTube as well.

How did Velvele perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management was flexible. They were kind enough to send some sketches through WhatsApp before sending detailed PDFs. Later on, I needed some of the material in different shapes and formats for different platforms. They provided those quickly. Communication was good. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They clearly understood what I wanted from the start. I didn’t provide them with sketches, but I explained the story and ideas. Those ideas were reflected in the visuals they produced.

No, they did an exceptional job.

You can trust them. Let them do the work from scratch. You’ll be satisfied with their work.

For what projects/services did your company hire Velvele?

Creating a new label design for our boxes. Including full prototyping and engineering for maximum effect and efficiency based on the criteria we set forth. After being approached by a major retailer we were asked to design a three pack of our candles. Velvele came in and designed an amazing product to spec, including full computer-aided design (CAD) engineering, manufacturing support, and custom design.

What were your goals for this project?

To create an aesthetically impactful and memorable product. Our brand needed to be remembered and Velvele helped us achieve that.

How did you select this vendor?

Thru a search online. After an extensive interview process, design goals and plans were laid out. Once previous work was shown we chose them.

Describe the project in detail.

The objective was to design packaging boxes that were memorable. Velvele was very communicative during the process with direct screen shares and new ideas. The reason they excelled was the amount of time and care they put into not only executing our ideas and vision but proposing new ones based on their skillset. Everything was done in an efficient and timely fashion.

What was the team composition?

There were two people assigned and they were extremely attentive. This was great because each person knew exactly what the other person was doing and gave their input easier than dealing with a larger team.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Due to the success of the first packaging box being created by Velvele, we were able to secure a major retailer and acclaim from customers instantaneously. Which led us to return and have them design our next packaging idea. That also garnered so much attention that other companies were asking us who we used.

Everyone was effective in communicating including weekly updates and screen shares to discuss over the phone.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their vast amount of knowledge, design ideas, and forward thinking nature stood out. Extremely communicative and not afraid to speak up about their ideas. Velvele was accommodating in every possible way. Every project was treated as if it was one of their own.
