Over the past 18 months, A Moment With has undergone significant evolution—from a meaningful concept into a fully functioning, cross-platform storytelling app available on both iOS and Android. The app’s mission to preserve personal legacies and strengthen emotional connections through voice and video storytelling has driven a thoughtful, iterative development process grounded in purpose and technical excellence.

The journey began with refining the core user experience—focusing on simplicity, emotional resonance, and secure media sharing. Working closely with such a trusted developer, we built the app using React Native to ensure a smooth, consistent interface across platforms. The app is powered by a robust AWS backend, including services like Amplify for infrastructure management, Cognito for secure authentication, DynamoDB for fast and scalable data storage, and S3/MediaConvert for seamless media handling.

From day one, value was presented and obvious.
There were specific goals relating to functionality that were clearly articulated and thoroughly tested and delivered [ e.g. Profile creation, Story creation, Video creation, notifications, invitations and backend functions ] 
App delivery  - into both stores - was also paramount and this was accomplished with minimal complications.

We were always kept informed and continued to work closely together.  There were rarely any surprises and the communciations was top notch.  The quality of the delivery was immediate and with such proficiency , that it made further and future decisions easy.

Vavensoft’s project management was chaotic and ineffective. Starting in August 2024 with a $7,500 contract, they lacked structure, failing to maintain regular GitHub commits for tracking progress. Updates via Upwork or Slack, promised daily, were rare, leaving me uninformed. They showed no plan to deliver features like real-time chat, cart functionality, or security measures, managing the project reactively. Deadlines were consistently missed—by March 27, 2025, after $3,850 in payments, the product was incomplete and buggy. Milestones like 3 ($1,750) and 5 ($1,000) dragged on, with key elements (chat, PWA design, testing) undelivered. A claimed seller-side completion by March 26 crashed during a demo the next day, proving their tardiness and poor quality. Responsiveness was dismal—they ignored my needs, dismissing requests for code ($3,000 paid by January 2025) or updates on integrations (via Miro charts), blaming scope creep despite unchanged core logic, showing a lack of accountability.

Second, they need to focus on delivering a complete, functional product, ensuring all promised features—like real-time chat, cart functionality, third-party integrations, security measures, responsive PWA design, and thorough testing—are fully executed instead of incomplete or absent. Third, communication could be more responsive; addressing client requests for code access or integration updates promptly, rather than ignoring them or deflecting with excuses, would build trust. Lastly, they should prioritize code quality—delivering well-structured, documented, and bug-free work over subpar output. Transparency, accountability, and a client-focused approach would significantly enhance their performance.
