When we started working with Upward Engine, we were just setting up the practice. Our main objectives were to have them build our website, help us get noticed online, and establish authority in our field. I had worked with several other companies during my career and no one was really doing a great job.

Upward Engine handled the construction of our website, created copy and photos, managed SEO, Google Ads, Local Services Ads, and PPC campaigns. They took care of all aspects of these services for us.

Our engagement began in July 2023, and the project is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Our website was completed, and we now rank for well over 100 keywords. We are consistently producing regular qualified leads, receiving about 1–3 qualified leads per month as a result of Upward Engine's work.

How did Upward Engine perform from a project management standpoint?

Upward Engine does a wonderful job at being transparent and timely. Their project management has been excellent throughout the engagement. We communicate via virtual meetings, emails, and messahges.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their willingness to be open, have difficult conversations, and use real metrics to measure success stands out. It never feels like they just want to take my money and leave me with a generic process that doesn't fit my industry.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Didn't get any of the monthly reporting was suppose to and they tanked my google ad account by doing something that didn't feel was best practices. There idea of working on an account is just uping the ad spend to make sure that it spends what says in contract so can get paid for that month. They did no A/B testing or segment any products. There idea of getting creatives is getting some pictures I had upgraded off my website. Was with them for like 3 months canceled then had meeting and talked me in to staying then go 3 more months and didn't do anything new to account just changed ROAS and tanked my ads and sales dropped $6-8k because of the one change they did to my account then I cancel there GREAT service for good and the ended up costing me anywhere from 5-10K in sales over 3-4 day period because when I cancelled they went in at turned off Search campaign which they was managing for me but they ALSO TURNED OFF MY SHOPPING ADS which they was not

Starting with ourselves, Upward Engine submitted dozens of citations for local search optimization. We were so happy with the communication/management of the project that we expanded it into a white label service for our agency's SEO clients as well. They've deliver a checklist of the citations and keep it regularly updated with statuses of that submitted citation.

Upward Engine provided a benchmark screenshot of where ourselves and our clients were ranking geographically on a Map Rank Tracker in SEMRush, and every month show us the improvements in our ranking.

Once a client contracts with us for ad management, we collect the campaign strategy and information from the client, then deliver it to SEO Werkz to build and manage the campaigns.
Once the campaign is live, they provide ongoing support and management to optimize and report on the results.

After working with a few SEO companies who had created some serious problems for us we found SEOWerkz, they were able to restore our organic search rankings in a few months and we have been ranked #1 or #2, almost without exception, for our primary keyword for almost 10 years. 

We also use SeoWerkz for our retargeting campaign and we feel they have done a good job with this for about 7 years now. Recently we added an AdWords campaign and it has done well, we started with a small budget and have increased it 4x in the past couple of months.

Our primary measurable is web form submissions, we also follow the organic rankings and the number of phones calls we receive that can be tracked.

There have been calls and messages from people stating they saw my website. These calls have turned into projects for our company. Old and new customers have stated how much they like the look of my website. Monthly meetings with my new rep and changes he has made that have considerably increase traffice to my site.

The whole process was excellent. Being a small, fast-growing business, my website was a priority, but the time to do it was non-existent. They worked with my time frame, even though it put the development months out further than normal. There was not high pressure for anything. They worked within my needs, and I have had the flexibility to add items or advertising budgets as they fit into my finances. 
I have the flexibility to increase costs for time periods in the year that will benefit my company and decrease in the months that it will not. They have made me feel like this is my website and they are the mechanism to make it work. They take my concerns and investigate the best options to increase my website visibility.

Their customer service, ethics, creativity, and understanding of my concerns, needs, and lack of time are impressive. They continue to ensure my website and business are visible online. My latest account rep has been a rockstar! He communicates with me, and I feel like he is personally invested in my company's success.

Are there any areas for improvement or something SEO Werkz could have done differently?

Not really. A couple of account reps were great guys, but they did not follow through or communicate well. Some of that is probably on me and my lack of extra time. But a small nudge here and there to remind me goes a long way. They only worked with me for a few months. My current rep is amazing. He took my concerns, suggested routes to take, took extra time to reveiw my entire site and all the background running of things and within a month, things were picking back up.

Countryside Landscapes has been around since 1979 and I purchased the company in 2020. We have 3 incredible crews that work hard, fast, and efficiently. We hired SEO Werkz for a number of reasons. One of which was to help with our cash flow issue. Homebuilders generally pay a net 30. Which, at times, can be difficult. So, we needed to fill our calendar with projects that would help alleviate our receivables being so delayed with our really big clients.

SEO Werkz prides themselves in being transparent, getting results, and earning customers' loyalty. This is what attracted me to them. We have worked with MANY other digital marking companies and we have not come across a company that wants to work for my money and be honest about the work that is being done.

We first started with a website build. We did not have a website before and since having one we have received tons of business. Our website is our employee that works 24/7 365 days a year. Not sure how we ever lived without it. Our SEO Campaigns. WOW! We have just skyrocketed since we started. We are now on the first page on SEVERAL keywords and even number one on the maps. It's INCREDIBLE!

Since implementing our SEO efforts we have seen a lot of growth. For example, when we first started, we were on the 10th page. Not showing up anywhere. Today, if you type in "Landscaper Layton" we show up on the FIRST PAGE!! This is the case with multiple cities!

Wow, I have nothing but great things to say about the SEO Werkz team. Let's start with Nicole. She was our Website, Project manager. She was responsive, fast, and all-around great to work with. We love our website and the results we have gotten from it. Daphne was our very first account manager. We truly felt like she cared for our success. Always following up, and checking in.

Unfortunately, (for us) she was promoted and we were assigned a new Account Manager- Braeden. He is the ultimate hype man. Since having him as our account manager we have skyrocketed. He is a great strategist. He has recommended many ideas to help our business grow more than it has already. We love our SEO Werkz team.

We interviewed them and 3 other companies. We decided on them because we could tell they were different, we could tell they cared, they were in our price point, and there was no long-term contract.

Their team also writes monthly blog posts on varying topics, targeting various geographic areas.

Over the years, we’ve had several account managers helping oversee the account and the various campaigns, and we’ve also worked and communicated directly with the gentleman who redid the website and the team that writes the monthly blogs.

Since onboarding in 2018, our rankings have steadily increased in a heavily saturated market. We are ranked 1 for several important keywords, and first page on many others. Our internet presence is so much stronger now and conversions from “internet” are drastically more consistent.

We’ve had Blake Molder as our account rep for almost a year now and the guy is just solid. He’s super knowledgeable, takes the time to explain everything, and always has time to chat when we need him. He listens to our needs and concerns, makes sure the rest of his team is completing certain things, and is thorough in following up. Could not ask for a better partner to our growing business.

Every team member we’ve encountered has been a pleasure to work with. Friendly, knowledgeable, and forthcoming with information. Simply put, they’re able to produce. They’re masters at what they do and are an essential part of our business.

Any concerns we’ve had over the years, they were quick to remedy right away. Having been a customer for 4 years now, they’ve worked hard to really understand our business, our needs, and our style.

I am the owner of First Steps Childcare in Salt Lake City. We are located in the state’s Department of Health building, and until recently have been providing childcare services almost exclusively to state employees and their families.

We never had to market our services before COVID. We were at full capacity all of the time with the majority of our clients being employed within our building. The pandemic changed the way people work in our building, and they are able to work more from home and our traditional client just doesn’t have the same need for our services that they once did.

We hired SEO Werkz to help us optimize our Google search exposure and help drive business from people and places we hadn’t needed to reach until recently. We have a goal to get up to full capacity with a waiting list within the next 6 months by aggressively advertising, marketing, and search engine optimizing.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We read a sponsored article on a local news app and connected with members of the SEO Werkz team. We had a few email conversations back and forth, then a consultation phone call. I felt confident that they would be able to do the best possible campaign for me. I really liked the month-to-month commitment as opposed to multiple month or year contracts that others use. This allows me to go more aggressive at the beginning and pull back when our spots are filled.

Since we are so early in the process, I’m not sure of the direct success quite yet. We have been getting referrals, but I am not sure if they have been driven through SEO Werkz projects or not.

I can’t believe how quick SEO Werkz has been at getting thing set up and going live. They’re easy to work with, listen to suggestions, and offer great solutions. They seem very research and data driven, which is what my business needs.

The small company feel from the team. I'm sure they're working with many larger companies, but they make me feel the most important whenever we interact.

I haven’t had much chance to really go through the whole process, but if I think of things that could be improved as we go along, I will surely let SEO Werkz know.
