I fist chatted with in April 2023, in May 2023 Nicholas was brought on board to design a new clean fresh faster website for our store. Every week Nicholas would connect me regularly how the website was coming along. 

If I had any questions Nicholas always made sure to reach out and give me a time window when he could chat with me. Nothing works better when someone calls text and emails their client to keep them informed every step of the way and Nicholas has done this for our company. We at Paul Samuel Design are so grateful to have Nicholas work with our company.

Our company needed a Shopify theme to house over 100 possible data points for products from the lighting industry. The theme needed to be responsive and easily customizable from client-to-client.

We have been able to utilize Shopify theme with our data for several customers. It is a light-weight, revenue generating offering for our company.

Our partners project management skills have been admirable. The Shopify Pro has delivered quality items on time. They are also very communicative, assist with troubleshooting, and are adept at discovering solutions when unexpected issues arise.

The firm's Shopify knowledge. The Shopify Pro has led online meetings where they have provided tutorials for how to configure and set up the theme that was created.

What challenge were you trying to address with Unrestrained Commerce?

We needed help developing our Shopify store.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We started from scratch. Our vision was to sell products on a Shopify store. Once we decided on the products we wanted to sell, Unrestrained Commerce created a mock-up of what the store would look like. We then gave our feedback on it. Unrestrained Commerce also supplied an onboarding sheet where we filled out information about our terms of service, privacy policy, and the number of products we wanted to sell.

What is the team composition?

Our main point of contact was Nick. 

How did you come to work with Unrestrained Commerce?

I found them through online research. Nick had a large profile on Upwork, and based on his reviews and history, I chose him.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent $2,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The engagement lasted from March–April 2025.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Unrestrained Commerce did exactly what we asked. If any design changes were needed, they did their best to make them. Ultimately, we gained the platform we hoped to use, but we couldn’t engage with it. That wasn’t because of Unrestrained Commerce but because of the platform itself.

How did Unrestrained Commerce perform from a project management standpoint?

They stayed on budget. We had a rough timeline, and we went over it, but it wasn’t by a concerning factor. We had to make some website changes, and Nick had to research Amazon to determine why they wouldn’t accept the payment terms from Shopify. We had some red tape issues. 

In terms of communication, we had an onboarding call via Zoom. After that, we communicated through email. Once we launched the site, we had another Zoom meeting. After that, we had a close-out Zoom call to complete the project.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Nick was a specific Shopify developer. He developed Shopify stores, and that was his main focus. That was what stood out about Unrestrained Commerce.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Nick sometimes varied from the initial onboarding sheet. I’d suggest referencing the sheet more often.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Go ahead and sign up. Give them the information and get the ball rolling.

Overall our revenue has grown over a hundred percent total, Are costs have gone down for overhead including trying developer after developer with no success, A low churn rate, Higher total cost per purchase, And more frequent purchases for customer.

We still have much work to do. Thus far much of our attention has been put on fixing things that the original developer made poorly, or themes/updates that caused major breaks. We have implemented improvements in the meantime such as product tag optimization, custom theme improvements, custom catalog build etc.

Very much so. They were always very communicative, responsive, and conscious of our needs and time constraints.
