What challenge were you trying to address with Twigames?

I had an idea for a game and wanted to develop it rapidly. I wanted to hit deadlines and manage costs with experienced people.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We worked together from conception to release. I gave them the idea, specifications, and design, and they generated the code for the whole game. The game runs on Unity. It’s a mobile game for iOS and Android. It’s a word game that has levels of progression and puzzles. There’s always a level editor they created that’s quite good.

What is the team composition?

I was in contact with two people: the CEO and one of their artists, who was nice.

How did you come to work with Twigames?

They were highly recommended to me by people I trust. They had experience and knew what they were doing.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent between $10,000­–­$15,000 with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from December 2019 until March 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

It’s a high-quality game. We set development targets when we started, features to produce by a certain date. Obviously, the work evolved as all projects do, but they pretty much stuck to the original plan. We had a couple of weeks to test the app and put it live.

The feedback on the game has been generally good. I’m still learning what to do with it in terms of the business, but it’s well-polished.

How did Twigames perform from a project management standpoint?

They were nice, and I liked their style of work and processes. They gave me options and didn’t try to force me to choose one or the other. They’re highly responsive and communicative, and they would fix something for me if I found it today.

We spoke via Skype, Telegram, and shared documents where we made edits. We also incorporated Trello at my request to make sure I had a handle on everything, especially as we worked on bug fixes.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was impressed by their knowledge, and that’s something that’s hard to come by. They had a lot of experience and were able to apply it to my project. One person can’t account for everything, so it was good to have another set of eyes.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Despite their communication being good and having good opinions, they could sometimes be too strong with their opinions.

I'm the CEO of Shmonster, a company that makes educational apps for kids.

What challenge were you trying to address with Twigames?

We reached out to Twigames to create some educational games for kids for both our mobile and VR app. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Twigames developed a 3D-animated game for one of our clients. It’s accessible through a mobile app and through a VR headset. They built the app for Android devices, using Unity. It’s a choose-your-own-adventure game, allowing children to explore and make decisions while learning along the way.

What is the team composition? 

We worked with a developer, a 3D animator, and the head of the company.

How did you come to work with Twigames?

I'd worked with them on a past project. I initially found them on Upwork and chose to work with them based on their strong portfolio and responsiveness. They quickly understood our company and came off as honest and capable. 

How much have you invested with them?

We invested around $7,000 on this particular project.

What is the status of this engagement?

They completed the project in just six weeks in 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Twigames did a fantastic job of meeting our client's needs. They were very happy with the end product, and its timely delivery. It's clear that they know what they're doing from both an artistic and technical standpoint. 

How did Twigames perform from a project management standpoint?

They're very communicative and flexible. Whenever something in the scope changed, they helped us figure it out and provided solutions. By keeping everything organized in Trello, I was able to reach anyone on their team and provide notes easily. The time zone difference often worked out in our favor, because I was able to respond first thing in the morning to their correspondence. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their communication skills and versatility set them apart; they wear many different hats. I'm also impressed that they were able to meet our tight deadline. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Nothing comes to mind.

I’m the senior project manager of Plinga. Starting January 1st, 2019, I will be the head of project management. Our company integrates and distributes social games on the internet.

What challenge were you trying to address with Twigames?

We needed additional support for adapting a product for online distribution.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The product was built on the Unity framework. Twigames handled porting and implementing additional features needed for the product to work within our environment.

What is the team composition?

My primary contact was Valerii (Founder and Owner, Twigames).

How did you come to work with Twigames?

A member of my team and I met Valerii at separate events. He impressed us with his expertise and his quick understanding of our business challenge.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with Twigames from June–November 2018.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Twigames delivered against a tight timeline and impressed stakeholders who held high standards for the final product.

How did Twigames perform from a project management standpoint?

Valerii transferred all requests to the development team. Our work was documented in a spreadsheet. We regularly talked about the progress, and I had access to all the builds. I could check that everything was implemented correctly and that the recommendations were being followed. Valerii provided regular reports as well. I was satisfied with the communications we had during the project. Twigames is at the top of my list if we have a similar project in the future.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Twigames met all requirements. Their team provided clear communication and professional work promptly.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Twigames could improve their system of receiving requirements from clients. Initially, there were a few missing items, but that wasn’t a huge issue. Their team completely delivered on those aspects.

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the head of publishing at a computer gaming company.

For what projects/services did your company hire Twigames?

We have an in-house development team, but we needed outside assistance to complete a particular set of three games to expand our portfolio.

What were your goals for this project?

We hoped to receive high-quality MVPs of each product to test in the market as soon as possible.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We selected Twigames after an RFP process and a round of interviews with several vendors.

Describe the project in detail.

Much of this information is still confidential, but I can report that Twigames used Unity 3D to complete their outsourced development of our three games.

What was the team composition?

We worked directly with the CEO, who assembled the development team.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We have not yet pushed the games to launch, but we believe that we have received high-quality work for a very fair price.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We communicated daily mostly via Slack and shared documents. They completed their work in accordance with our timeline, and we kept an open and transparent feedback channel the entire time.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I found them to be honest, hard-working, and reliable.

Are there any areas for improvement?

As with any project, we’d always prefer our products to be completed faster, but they met our agreed upon deadline, so we consider this a success.
