We submitted our list of potential names to TTG. At that point, they conducted linguistic screening with their linguists, focusing on:

Literal meanings in target languages of any of the names

Associations and visual/phonetic similarities

Potential issues with pronunciation, including a transcription of the perceived pronunciation by speakers of the target language

Flagging any similar sounding brands that would be well-known by people within the market.

Screening commenced over two days, and once final results were compiled, they delivered us an excel spreadsheet detailing the responses from the linguists. Severe flags (as well as positives) were color coded as points of emphasis.

The primary outcome was in having meaningful data to assess risk-levels for our shortlist of naming candidates. This allowed us to remove candidates that would be problematic in key markets, freeing us up to focus on those that were still viable in our discussions with our client on name recommendations and strategies.

TTG’s project team is incredibly locked in throughout the whole process. Our project involved 87 linguists and was completed in two business overnights. We send them lists of name ideas, along with relevant countries and languages to search. Then, they send the ideas to multiple native speakers per language. The linguists are asked to comment on each name in terms of pronounceability, meaning, connotations, and associations. We get a detailed report back with any notes from the linguists.

Some services we’ve planned in advance but still go awry from the plans sometimes because they’re on-the-spot adaptations, TTG flexis for us and delivers. Other services we’ve required from Transatlantic Translations Group are off the cuff, and they react to last-minute requests without prior notice. Transatlantic Translations Group has translated interview questions for us, some of which are pre-set and standard. Other questions change due to the nature of these types of interviews, with questions being added following certain responses given by the interviewee. We’ve used all of the EU languages and many other languages, too. Transatlantic Translations Group’s way of delivering the service is perfect for keeping the confidentiality intact for the often sensitive information shared during the welfare interviews. It’s very discreet, with the translator being on the end of a phone line instead of in person. Their service is consistent, with the translators providing a high standard of service every time. its a great clear process to follow for the service, and if i have ever had any questions, Andrew is on hand at any time to help.

TTG provided technical translation services for our geospatial and technical data reports during an international oil & gas joint venture project. Their team demonstrated deep expertise in the energy sector, accurately handling complex survey terminology, geodetic data, well logs, seismic interpretations, and regulatory-compliant content across hundreds of pages, including CAD drawings and GIS overlays.

Their teams created a project-specific bilingual glossary, obtained our engineering approval upfront, and ensured consistent terminology throughout the main report, appendices, tables, and map labels. The final translation was reformatted with preserved layouts, searchable PDFs, and updated graphics, delivered on time despite a tight permitting deadline.

They delivered an accurate, regulation-ready translation, handling complex survey terminology, geospatial labels, well logs, seismic interpretations, and CAD/GIS overlays. The bilingual glossary was validated by the projects engineering team, and their QA process gave us full confidence in the submission. The project met tight permitting deadline and passed regulatory review without revisions.
