I’m the director and partner of Practical Ethics, a company that helps businesses develop and implement sustainable social responsibility agendas, promoting high ethical standards and responsible practices for long-term success.

What specific goals or objectives did you hire Transatlantic Translations Group to accomplish for your business services and social responsibility projects?

We needed help with translation for conversations we have with our overseas non-English-speaking colleagues from a variety of countries during welfare interviews. By enabling us to ask questions and dig deeper into their responses in their own languages helps the colleague feel more comfortable and at ease to disclose information openly.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Transatlantic Translations Group has translated for us in a vast number of languages. Some services we’ve planned in advance but still go awry from the plans sometimes because they’re on-the-spot adaptations, TTG flexis for us and delivers. Other services we’ve required from Transatlantic Translations Group are off the cuff, and they react to last-minute requests without prior notice. Transatlantic Translations Group has translated interview questions for us, some of which are pre-set and standard. Other questions change due to the nature of these types of interviews, with questions being added following certain responses given by the interviewee. We’ve used all of the EU languages and many other languages, too. Transatlantic Translations Group’s way of delivering the service is perfect for keeping the confidentiality intact for the often sensitive information shared during the welfare interviews. It’s very discreet, with the translator being on the end of a phone line instead of in person. Their service is consistent, with the translators providing a high standard of service every time. its a great clear process to follow for the service, and if i have ever had any questions, Andrew is on hand at any time to help.

We originally started working with them following direct communication from them to offer their services to a previous company that i worked with. We chose them over other options because their pricing fit our budget, they had a great culture fit, their company values aligned with ours, and they had personable communications, all of which they have maintained during our many years of working with them since.

We started working with them in April 2018, and our engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The responses we get from interviewees sharing often sensitive information personal to them drives our next actions to helping workers away from mistreatment. We simply wouldn’t have been able to conduct the interviews without Transatlantic Translations Group’s efficient translation services. Its extremely important to us personally and through our business that we find signs of mis treatment and can help people out of exploitative situations, we wouldn't be successful with non english speaking colleagues if we couldn't communicate in their language. TTG is on hand to help us fill this gap.

Kehl Survey Solutions provides land surveying services tailored to the oil & gas industry across Montana and surrounding regions through comprehensive, turn-key solutions including staking oil and gas well locations, pad layout surveys (with topography and volume calculations as needed), as-built surveys for pipelines, access roads, and well pads, pipeline route surveys, topographic surveys, and more. Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

TTG provided technical translation services for our geospatial and technical data reports during an international oil & gas joint venture project. Their team demonstrated deep expertise in the energy sector, accurately handling complex survey terminology, geodetic data, well logs, seismic interpretations, and regulatory-compliant content across hundreds of pages, including CAD drawings and GIS overlays.

Their teams created a project-specific bilingual glossary, obtained our engineering approval upfront, and ensured consistent terminology throughout the main report, appendices, tables, and map labels. The final translation was reformatted with preserved layouts, searchable PDFs, and updated graphics, delivered on time despite a tight permitting deadline.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

They delivered an accurate, regulation-ready translation, handling complex survey terminology, geospatial labels, well logs, seismic interpretations, and CAD/GIS overlays. The bilingual glossary was validated by the projects engineering team, and their QA process gave us full confidence in the submission. The project met tight permitting deadline and passed regulatory review without revisions.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

We were provided with a global PM team. Not because our communication came from anywhere outside of the US, but because this project required work at all times of the day. Response from their teams provided immediate communication to any of our queries. We were impressed by their professional and helpful manner, even when the project was under pressure on our end.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We've worked with other vendors before, but what stood out to us with TTG was their hands on approach no matter what the topic of communication was. At times it felt as though they were an extension of our organization with their teams clearly placing the same importance of timeline requirements and of the technical accuracy that had to be carried over into the translation. 

Are there any areas for improvement or something Transatlantic Translations Group could have done differently?

In our experience with this project, nothing stands out that could have been handled better.
