For what projects/services did your company hire Touchstone Security?

Our Customer relation system was hosted at a facility and we at a point where we wanted to transition to AWS as we felt that it would provide more flexibility and more uptime.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Based on prior experiences working with the CEO of the company. I have been with the 92nd Street for 10+ years and CEO of the company was the person who helped us through many of our projects. His expertise, problem solving skills, wealth of knowledge, and his professionalism is something that I highly value.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

They did an inventory on our systems. All were virtual machines on physical boxes. We initially thought that moving all the virtual systems would be huge a undertaking but they utilized a program that literally replicated all the systems in real time into AWS. Within a few days we had exact replicas of our systems. All we had to do at that point was to bring on the systems in AWS.

We worked with a team of 3 -4 people. All highly capable, organized and professional.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

They’re phenomenal. They take care of everything I need and jump right on it. AWS is much better for security and runs smoother.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

I value communication and the ability to work around unforeseen obstacles . And the team did not disappoint, questions and concerns were answered promptly. Each step and process of the project was laid out very clearly. Any potential pitfalls were explained and a few solutions were given.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The team was certified in AWS and they displayed an depth knowledge AWS.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

none that I can think of.

We were looking for an external, proactive review of our environment, and were looking for a highly qualified team that understood our stack --goal was to find potential vulnerabilities and solution them.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We got a referal from a trusted business partner who advised Touchstone was the best for an organization like ours. They were right.

Touchstone performed a top to bottom analysis of our environment, and went extremely deep. They interviewed key tech staff, and management, and covered all bases. We were impressed how the companies CEO actually sat down at a Unix command line and went to work himself and really impressed our tech staff immediately.

Unexpected and it showed us that Touchstone is a serious technology and security firm from top to bottom. The provided immediate and longer term solutions in a roadmap that worked with our existing roadmap and improved it.

We had a project manager and senior consultant and another specialist.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

They were able to identify risks we had missed internally, the goal of the project. They also were able to implement solutions quickly. We were extremely happy with their work.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

They engaged wonderfully with our sometimes demanding tech staff. They were competent at all times at a level that exceeded our expectations.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The depth from top to bottom of the organization. There is no one we're aware of at Touchstone that is merely a 'talking head' --it is an organization of highly competent security experts.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I could not point to anything I would have liked to have seen done better, and I've thought about that for a while before drawing that conclusion. Touchstone is very impressive.

I am a content creator that posts content for a growing online followers of 100,000 people.

The services i hired Touchstone Security for The Proofpoint Email Professional Product and help with setting it up.

What were your goals for this project?

My goal for this project was to come out of this with a better protected email account.

SOLUTION

How did you select Touchstone Security?

I selected Touchstone Security because he was local and i like to support local businesses as well he use to be NSA Advisor so i know i would be in good hands.

Describe the project in detail.

I basically asked him for help with safeguarding my email and he mentioned "Proofpoint" for my O365 email account and after he told me all the benefits it would help. I was SOLD! He quickly installed Proofpoint on my email within a 10 minutes and was able to end the call know i am safeguarding my email traffic against viruses.

What was the team composition?

I was dealing directly with the CEO who is Rich Shinnick. Who was very helpful and understood my needs instantly.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

At this time, ProofPoint has protected already 5 other virus threats. If i didnt have Rich tell me about this product and install it on my behalf i would be in trouble with my important data being stolen.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

This gives me peace of mind knowing that i am protected.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I was very impressed by how fast they work. The runaround time was same day! That to me speaks VOLUME!

Are there any areas for improvement?

Nothing i can see for improvement. They were GREAT!

What challenge were you trying to address with Touchstone Security?

We had a facility where we hosted our CRM and website and were looking to move to AWS.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They had a certain tool from AWS and replicated all of our servers and moved them to AWS. Then, we tested it before the migration. Finally, we made the move.

What is the team composition?

We worked with 3–4 people from their team.

How did you come to work with Touchstone Security?

I’ve known the president of Touchstone Security for over 20 years. I knew his work ethic, and I knew them very well.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent close to $100,000.                                                                   

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in December 2019 and wrapped up in April 2020.

They’re phenomenal. They take care of everything I need and jump right on it. AWS is much better for security and runs smoother.

How did Touchstone Security perform from a project management standpoint?

We used Microsoft Teams to keep in touch and manage the project.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They know everything about AWS and are all certified. We even went to an AWS event together about a year ago, and we got to chat in person.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, everything went smoothly.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

When you meet Rich (Founder), you’ll see he’s very good at presenting what he plans to do for you, including a scope of work, needed materials, and an estimate. Once all that’s set up, it’s a no-brainer.
