I’m an executive at a custom software development company. We build SaaS products and websites, and also provide data analysis for businesses.

What challenge were you trying to address with Toolshed?

We needed help with custom software development and data engineering. Our workload was outgrowing our staff, so we needed to outsource.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Toolshed has helped us with custom software development and data engineering. They've created a database and deployed APIs for that database. The team has also worked on the backend and the data pipeline side in Microsoft Azure. Toolshed has refined the code I provided to ensure the data analysis is accurate before implementing it. The team has also created a scalable way to do it using Azure functions. Toolshed has used Bubble.io for the frontend development because I was developing it myself.

Currently, Toolshed provides support and ad hoc changes.

What is the team composition?

I work with three teammates from Toolshed. Muhammad, the co-founder, handles the business management side of things, including quote building. The other co-founder and CTO is the developer and customer success bridge. The third person ensures the scope of work is done.

How did you come to work with Toolshed?

We found Toolshed through Fiverr. We previously worked with another developer for about a year, and the communication was extremely poor. We went on the search and asked better vetting questions about their lifecycle. We chose Toolshed because they had clear communication, quick responses, and quick turnaround times. They didn’t fluff the quotes either.

We’ve invested between $10,000–$25,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Toolshed in October 2025, and our engagement is ongoing. However, the solution was already deployed at the beginning of January 2026.

Toolshed has exceeded our expectations.

How did Toolshed perform from a project management standpoint?

Toolshed has met deadlines and stayed on budget. When there was a lack of a deadline, it was more of a hold-up on my end. The team gives me daily updates, so I know what is happening at all times. I've submitted the issues, and Toolshed has given me an update overnight.

We've used Jira on our end and joined it to the Slack channel.

What did you find most impressive about them?

There’s no language barrier, which is huge. Toolshed understands the business case and doesn’t develop in a box. The team anticipates things.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there aren’t any.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be clear and know what you’re building. User stories are important because Toolshed follows those well and asks the right questions.

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

The scope of work included the design, development, and rollout of a custom data-driven project and marketing performance management platform.

First, we built a project management and briefing tool using Retool, integrated with Airtable and Supabase. This tool enables structured project creation through advanced logic, guided briefing workflows, and dynamic forms. It is fully connected to the customer database and supports reusable templates as well as a draft mode for iterative project preparation.

In parallel, we developed a server-side tracking solution that collects and processes tracking data and stores it in Google BigQuery. The setup includes a human-in-the-loop workflow for validating and handling critical data points. The collected data is analyzed and visualized initially via Looker Studio and later directly within Retool. Additionally, customer success data and operational workflows were fully integrated and managed through Retool.

We also implemented advertising data integrations for Meta, Google Ads, and LinkedIn Ads using Fivetran and Airbyte, enabling centralized, automated data ingestion and unified performance reporting.

Beyond analytics, we delivered a campaign overview and budgeting dashboard per customer, providing transparency into spend allocation and performance. Furthermore, we developed an ad gallery that allows side-by-side comparison of individual creatives and their performance metrics.

Finally, the entire platform was rolled out as a secure, customer-facing login solution, allowing clients to access project data, campaign insights, and performance dashboards in a centralized environment.

• Huge decrease in false briefings from our projectmanager. The accuracy and speed that our PM Team can deligate tasks is much higher now
