We had a number of designs we needed expert help on to import from Figma into Webflow. Our designs were highly interactive and ambitious, far beyond what the one touch Figma to Webflow plugin could manage. We needed support completing this as quickly as possible to meet a deadline and give our design team support.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Tonik communicated clearly and regularly throughout the whole project about how many hours we'd used, why and how and answered questions we had quickly and easily. We didn't have to utilise any new software working with them. Everything was accomplished within the time frame.

We made it clear that we were needing to accomplish the task at a specific amount of time and under a specific budget. We had weekly meetings and regular checkups as needed for different tasks. They communicated excellently and I never felt in the dark during the project as I had working with other agencies.

They had clear and fantastic communication as well as consistency with who is working with us which made it easy to maintain momentum with the project. They started with a discovery workshop, mapping out key user flows and setting up some hypothesis they wanted to test. Once we had some basic prototypes, we shared those with our users, gathered feedback and iterated. They then started to build a visual design system, designed all the flows, edge cases, documentation for handoff and helped us define a roadmap for v2.

• We’ve never seen such a smooth hand-off from designers, everything was well prepared and documented, our our engineers were able to go full speed from day 1.

Tonik's project management is absolutely outstanding. The team has never missed a deadline in our 2+ years of working with Tonik. The team is highly responsive and engaged in the work, and they bring enthusiasm and ownership of the work every single week.

The team always responds swiftly to our Slack messages and emails, and our needs are consistently met.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What I find most unique about Tonik is that the team doesn't feel like an outside agency, rather they truly feel like a part of our team.

We've been working with some of the same people for 2+ years, and we've built strong working relationships with all of the individuals on the team, and the Tonik team has built those relationships with us.

We've worked on tough technical challenges together, learned a lot together, and have seen each other grow into different roles. We really enjoy working with everyone on the team Tonik has dedicated to us, past and current. What I find most impressive about Tonik is their technical knowledge.

The engineers we work with possess very strong technical capabilities, and they are masters of their craft.

We always collaborate with Tonik to create the branding of our ideas to then launch them to the market. They have a very lean approach on execution which is ideal for our early stage environment.

To select our vendor, we conducted extensive research across all the vendors within the same timezone as us. Our goal was to identify a vendor that could deliver quality work while maintaining a strong level of communication and availability to execute projects in a timely manner.

After narrowing down the list of potential vendors, we held a meeting with each one to gain a better understanding of their operational processes and project management capabilities. We wanted to ensure that our vendor had a thorough understanding of our project requirements, and the ability to execute them efficiently and effectively.

• Research and Discovery: This stage is focused on researching the they focus on the industry where we operate in, to gain a deep understanding of out target audience, competitors, and market trends. This research can include interviews with stakeholders, market research, and a review of existing branding materials.
• Strategy and Planning: Based on the insights gathered in the research and discovery stage, the next step they developed a strategy and plan for the branding project. This included defining the brand's mission, values, and unique selling proposition, as well as identifying the brand's target audience, tone of voice, and messaging.
• Brand Identity Creation: This is the stage where the visual and creative elements of the brand were developed, including the logo, color scheme, typography, and imagery.
• Brand Guidelines: Once the brand identity was developed, they created brand guidelines that outline how the brand should be used consistently across all touchpoints. This included guidance on how to use the logo, colors, typography, and imagery, as well as the tone of voice and messaging.

The workflow between our team and Tonik was super effective throughout the project. Their team was incredibly organized, communicative, and responsive, which helped us to stay on track and meet our deadlines.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

One of the things that we found most impressive and unique about Tonik was how friendly and down-to-earth their team was. Despite being a highly professional and experienced branding agency, they were never pretentious or difficult to work with.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

While our experience working with Tonik was overwhelmingly positive. There was perhaps 1 or 2 minor revisions that took a bit longer than we anticipated.

Once that was done, we started working on the first product prototypes and iterated on them until they were ready for development. Tonik also facilitated a ton of strategy work and customer research, which proved to provide crucial insights. They also designed our investment deck.

We had a team of two designers and a project manager, supported from some other people in the company.

Everything was executed beautifully. On top of that, I was very impressed with the amount of business insights tonik provided, which was a huge factor in shaping the final form of the product.

Super transparent with multiple daily updates, they were also quick to resolve any questions/feedback via Slack.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were able to talk us out of something we wanted, but didn’t necessarily need. Instead of charging us for this, we managed to save time and capital, which is a rare approach for B2B companies from my experience.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Shorter lead times would’ve been nice. Our kick-off date was scheduled for 3 weeks in advance.

Our old website was not in line with our new CI and the way we wanted to communicate our services. tonik designed and developed our new website with our inputs and ideas and it came out exactly how we wanted it to be.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We had looked at over 20 agencies and ultimately they seemed not only the best fit when it comes to designing and developing our new website (based on the casestudies we looked at and what they were describing in the meetings we had prior with them) but also culturally it matched as they are fast moving and dynamic but also fun to work with.

We worked with them from January 2022 to April 2022 for the first re-launch of the website and now again as we wanted to add a few things here and there (January 2023-now). In the first project we briefed them on what landing pages we needed, what contents should be included and where and roughly how it should look based on our CI.

As I am nether a designer nor a dev they took big part in actively advising and suggesting elements and layouts for the whole website basically. We communicated through slack, worked out the design on figma with contionous feedback loops, used notion as project managment and a preview site on webflow to see the dev progress (and used markup for small fixes and tweaks in the second project). The whole process was super smooth and fast!

For both projects we had a designer, a dev and a project manager. Sometimes other devs or designers jumped in to help with certain problems and for the first and second project the team changed a little. So, I worked with about 6 persons and always had 3 key persons to communicate with.

As I already said above, the communication and workflow was super smooth and fast! We used slack, figma, notion, webflow (preview) and markup.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The pace was super impressive and also the culture - though we worked super productive, it always was fun to work with them!

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

No ones perfect and I can't really think of things that really were not good! The only things that I could think of is sometimes smaller tweaks were burried in big slack threads or messages and only implemented after reminding. But thats more on me I would say, as I have messaged a lot and big messages. And also when I reminded them, they always implemented everything right away!

After a kickoff meeting and a couple of additional briefing meetings, Piotr, our designer, started brainstorming ideas for various pages on our website. In general, we walked him through what the product does and sometimes provided samples of illustrations from other websites we took inspiration from. Piotr was able to work with very ambiguous instructions from our side and came up with 90% of the concepts himself. We were really pleased with the outcome. After a couple of rounds of iterations, our project was wrapped up.

We worked with Piotr, one of Tonik's web/graphic designers, while the project was facilitated by Aleksandra, Tonik's PM for this project.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We completed new designs of our pages in less than a month, with Leapfin's marketing lead signing off on the designs in a matter of days. Tonik were quick, knew how to think independently when we asked them to, and proactive in their communication.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The PM was easy to communicate with, as was the designer. We communicated via slack, email and meetings, without the need to run things in a PM tool.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We had to explain very little to our designer in terms of our ideas. He understood our vision effortlessly. Tonik also pays attention to details as an agency, communicate well, and even sent us a Christmas card that doubled as an interactive website with information about their availability, portfolio, and other things on it. You tend to remember things like that. You can see they put effort into everything they do.

Not really, we were really happy with the service Tonik provided.

With our repositioning into a full-service logistics platform with apps and APIs, we needed to redefine our company brand and identity to reflect. We worked with Tonik to create new branding, fresh website design, and web development parallel to our announcement as a full-service logistics and fulfillment platform.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We discovered Tonik through a recommendation from a marketing PR firm, Matter Made. We loved Toni's work on Chili Piper and decided to proceed with our web redesign and rebrand with them.

We began our engagement with Tonik on discovery calls to convey how we wanted to express our new brand. We worked through several iterations, color palettes, fonts and designs to reach our end result, which beautifully conveys our forward-thinking approach to logistics. We then completely restructured our website into a simpler and more navigable interface with refreshed branding. Our rebrand and relaunch allowed us to present as a complete platform/full service offering instead of our previous site, which demonstrated our offerings separately. After redesigning and rebranding, tonik helped us by developing a no-code website which allowed us to easily maintain the site after delivery. We were able to seamlessly migrate a bunch of our existing content, blogs and case studies. At the end, Tonik delivered in-depth tutorials and materials to manage our new site and brand which was tremendously helpful.

We observed the following improvements as a result of our engagement with Tonik: - Improved UI - Users spend more time browsing our website - Receiving more qualified leads - The messaging is resonating well and is in alignment with GTM. We’re seeing more logistics companies than we did previously which ties into the improved messaging piece - Qualified prospects are coming in with more knowledge around PackageX -It's clear we are a platform now. Leads are coming in with a specific need but then also asking about our other products.

Tonik's team was kind, quick to respond, flexible, and able to fulfill every request we had rebrand-wise and design-wise. We appreciated how they kept our team in the loop with each and every change and implementation as the project progressed. We also enjoyed the daily updates via our shared Slack to help us understand what work was done within a given day or week.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We really enjoyed how equipped Tonik was to meet our design and development requests. If certain team members were unavailable, Tonik was quick to find another resource who could help us complete the work.

Weekly syncs were frequently rescheduled or canceled, but asynchronous updates were provided in those cases.

tonik rebuilt and redesigned our site from scratch using Webflow. Although they used the content from the existing site, they created a new look and feel. For the design, we requested a more modern look. We had a mood-boarding session, and they provided us with suggestions.

We’ve gotten really positive feedback on the site tonik created. Communication agencies have contacted me to tell me they rarely see such a good website for companies in our sector, which has been nice.
