What challenge were you trying to address with Thought Inc.?

We reached out to Thought to develop an app for one of our learning solutions.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Thought is developing a mobile app for iOS and Android, using either PhoneGap or Ionic. Features of the app allow users to complete their training and track their progress. They also helped us create specifications and laid out a scope of work that included timelines and fees beforehand.

What is the team composition? 

We work with a project manager, as well as a lead developer.

How did you come to work with Thought Inc.?

They share the same office space with our company, so we were already familiar with their services. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We've been working together since January 2019.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The process has been slow and steady. Although it's taking longer than we anticipated, they're moving things forward nicely and paying close attention to our needs. We expect the app to launch shortly. 

How did Thought Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?

They're very responsive; I can call them almost any time and get an immediate response, even over the weekend or after business hours. We mostly communicate with them through WhatsApp or Skype, touching base every week to go over the status of development. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their entire team is very positive and proactive in their approach to everything. No problem is too big; they're calm and collected no matter what we throw their way. Their progressive, professional style has been quite unique in that way.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We're a couple months behind our previously agreed upon launch date, so they could improve the way they scope out the work or, perhaps, hire more developers.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

It's in the client's best interest to make sure the developers have scoped out the work properly, which may cost more but end up saving money in the long run. That would've helped us avoid dragging the project out a couple extra months.
