Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the Chief Creative Officer and Partner of Slant Agency Dubai.

For what projects/services did your company hire TheCompanyFilms?

Slant Agency Dubai has worked on various projects with The Company Films since 2014. We have had around 10/15 films for our clients done by them. One such key project was the Corporate AV for Ajmal Perfumes done in 2016.

What were your goals for this project?

To narrate the journey of Ajmal Perfumes spanning from 1951 and getting their key milestones as a perfume grower, manufacturer and retailer highlighted in the best possible way. Including the essence of “Crafting Memories”, which is Ajmal Perfumes’s key philosophy.

SOLUTION

How did you select TheCompanyFilms?

The Company Films and Slant Agency went back to 2014 where we had done another film for another client. As such we knew what they were capable of delivering and hence they fit the bill perfectly.

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.

The video spanned a whole journey of Ajmal right from their plantations of Agarwood in Assam, India right down to their 150,000 sq ft perfume manufacturing factory in Dubai to their myriad retail showrooms.

What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?

The Company Films was excellent right through the process - from the story boarding of the script down to managing a complex shoot across locations and right up to the post production, editing, grading, music, voice overs and more.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The Corporate AV was warmly received by the Ajmal Perfumes management and team and also appreciated by their vast network of associates.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Very effective: hand in glove right through the 2 month film production process.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The team is cutting edge, resourceful, and very technical in their storytelling which is done with panache.

Are there any areas for improvement?

As always there will be areas that could be improved upon. But our experience with them was spotless and bang on.

For what projects/services did your company hire The Company Films?

We needed to hire an external partner to produce a brand video for our agency. 

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted a video that would help people understand who we are, what we do, and how we differ from similar agencies.

How did you select this vendor?

We did an extensive search and spoke to several agencies.

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.

We wanted to explore their capabilities, so we asked The Company Films to bring clarity to our message and find language that explains our unique qualities. We worked together closely and they observed our process. They created an animated video for use on our website. As we were interested in creating client videos, we went through a process with our own video that would be similar to the experience for our clients.

What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?

The project took place between April–July 2018. Now we work with them on our clients’ projects.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The Company Films did a fantastic job on the animated video. They really know what they’re doing. The output was even better than I anticipated. We still get compliments on it. We redesigned our website as they were working, so the video helped new customers understand what we do. It gave us instant credibility and represented our quality of work. 

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

They had a solid workflow process. We didn’t need to meet much during our process, but we talked frequently on the phone. I never had to push or direct them in any way. Everything was done correctly at each stage and they kept the process moving. They considered all of my feedback and kept things as simple as possible. 

The Company Films’ team means a lot to us. I consider many of the people who worked on our project to be friends. They did a great job understanding the overall plan and working through the process.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They care about everyone they encounter and it shows in their work. The Company Films cares about their customers and the quality of their output. They also care about the relationships they form and take extra steps to ensure good bonds. They truly feel like a family, and are a model for how an agency should operate.

Are there any areas for improvement?

They should work to understand clients’ budgets and priorities early in the sales process. That way they don’t price out potentially great customers. If they opened up lower price options and catered to companies that need to start small, they might bring in more clientele.
