I’m the founder of Avorra. We’re a cloud-based telephone provider in Australia.

What challenge were you trying to address with Testrig Technologies?

We needed additional testers to test out the functionality of a product faster than we could accomplish in-house.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Testrig Technologies completed exploratory testing for multiple versions of our product, which consisted of a mobile app, a desktop app, and a web client. We had a limited time frame and budget, but they performed the testing efficiently. I monitored their progress through the frequency and volume of bug reports I received while the testing was ongoing.

What is the team composition?

I worked with Parimal (Founder, Testrig Technologies) and another key staff member. Other people may have worked on our project, but I didn’t interact with them.

How did you come to work with Testrig Technologies?

We found Testrig Technologies through Upwork. We set up a trial for their team, and they worked well. We continued to use Testrig Technologies and expanded their services.

We spent about $5,000–$10,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project lasted from May 2017 until March 2019. Testrig Technologies worked on and off with us through multiple releases.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We don’t have any metrics, unfortunately—the fact that our product still exists is the biggest testament to Testrig Technologies’ work.

How did Testrig Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

Parimal is outstanding to work with. He really goes out of his way to make sure you’re happy and that Testrig Technologies is improving your business. I’ve found the team overall to be extremely helpful and trustworthy.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Testrig Technologies was flexible about our payment options given that we were a self-funded startup. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Their fluency in English could improve, but our communication was otherwise fine.

Any advice for potential customers?

Be clear on the outcomes and your budget. Make sure Testrig Technologies is clear on what you want to be tested and how you want it to be tested. Have documentation in place that records the differences in software functionality from version to version. That can get confusing quickly if you don’t communicate it well.

I’m currently overseeing the development and implementation of an e-commerce site for a third-party client but needed to check the code before launch. I tasked Testrig Technologies with going over thousands of pages to test for errors.

Testrig Technologies is an expert in their field. They caught numerous technical issues that would have negatively impacted our client, and we were able to resolve them within the week. I’d highly recommend their testing services, especially for larger sites.

The workflow between our teams was great. They gave us daily reports on their progress and discoveries, and we communicated through Skype, email, and Trello.

I appreciated their knowledge, professionalism, and cost structure. They committed to the work and completed the project within the given deadlines.

They should mainly use Trello to give feedback and deliver reports because emails can slow down the communication process.

I'm the head of technology at BlackSheep Media Works. Our mobile application, PubSpot, gives users the ability to order and pay for drinks right from their phone in crowded bars without needing to visit the counter.

We hired Testrig Technologies to test our Android and web apps.

What were your goals for this project?

We hoped to test our application on multiple devices using different versions of Android. It also needed to be tested on different screen sizes. Most importantly, we needed to ensure that the app operated as per the scope document.

How did you select this vendor?

In our search, we prioritized vendors that could provide frequent bug reports and testing on a wide array of devices. Testrig Technologies presented us with test plans, sample documentation for bug reports, and information regarding their procedures. Their team was also willing to allocate a dedicated resource for our project.

We held 4–5 meetings with our team and the QA technician we were assigned. That person easily grasped the concept and inner workings of our application. Once we set the foundation for the engagement, the QA technician prepared the test cases and test plans for every module. He shared those with us and, following our approval, began the testing. We received daily bug reports, and our development team addressed the issues immediately. They then retested the app until it was complete.

Parimal (Founder, Testrig Technologies) oversaw our daily operations and ensured that we met deadlines. We were assigned a QA technician and, at times, a part-time QA assistant.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Within one month we could see the difference in our development. The daily reports and feedback we received allowed us to make development decisions faster, and we were, in turn, able to bring the app to a launch-ready version much faster. The QA team was vital in identifying what needed to be corrected within our app.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We’d arrange regular Monday calls to discuss that week’s tasks, and we’d hold similar Friday calls to recap the progress of those tasks. Our communication with the founder and the QA team experienced no gaps.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They were obviously committed to the project. For example, we once had to test the application on a particular device due to its popularity, and Testrig Technologies helped us address that version’s issues without hesitation, which helped us clear a significant hurdle. Testrig Technologies was unafraid to invest more resources in the project to accommodate our timeline.

Timesheet system is our internal system where employees can fill in their daily timesheet easily with respect to assigned project and tasks. It has many other sections for manager and administrator to manage clients, projects, tasks etc.
