The general approach was nearly perfect, including the communication with the managers. 

The only pain point we found in our collaboration was the language used in conversations (english). The proficiency level of the developer was good, but sometimes it took a bit of extra effort to understand each other (obviously, I think this feedback can't be one-sided).

Community Capital has developed a digital loan trading exchange and business intelligence platform, which is used by US Regional Banks, Community Banks, Credit Unions and other third party originators and investors. These organizations interact with our platform via a web-based UX/UI capable of both desktop and mobile deployments. 

Temy has been our go-to partner to design and develop this UX/UI, including iterative mockup designs, design implementations using ReactJS, as well as to provide comprehensive manual and automated testing services.

The Temy team has been an integral part of Community Capital's broader development team. This includes integration into daily meetings, task management and tracking within our primary project tracking tool (ClickUp), and quality assurance process. The Temy team has consistently executed on assigned tasks and objectives, in both a timely and high-quality manner.

Project management is handled primarily by Community Capital, to which Temy has been a part. Temy has consistently delivered items on time, and has been very quick to respond to any question or concern, if it ever arose. Both through the interaction with the Temy development team members, and with Temy's corporate management team, we have a high confidence in Temy's ability to deliver on our needs and objectives.

Temy has a 'no excuses, can do' attitude. With that said, our platform and app is complex and we are involved in a a complex business that the team was not familiar with. We were able to spend considerable time to explain the business but once that was done the team quickly were able to deliver.

Jaspercard is a credit card for US residents. We provide credit cards to customers that are new to the US credit system, such as college graduates or professional expats. Our unique underwriting model enables us to empower our customers with a great product while minimizing our financial risk. The credit card comes with a proprietary mobile app, enabling the customers to review all transactions and perform payments towards their credit debts.

What was the team composition?

We hired one QA and one DevOps engineer for a long term engagement. These were added to an existing team of a few engineers.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Temy sourced and hired the required engineers quickly. They set a high standard not only engineering professionalism and quality, but also for personality and team building.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We manage the project ourselves, and cooperate with Temy based on engineering extension model. Temy engineers report directly to me and other Jasper team leaders. Temy is transparent and demonstrates a high level of management, HR, and reporting skills. They are capable of handling difficult situations around employee retention and hiring campaigns. They alert us to potential problems and suggest alternatives wherever possible.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Temy is passionate about personal service and striving to excellence. This attitude distinguishes them from the competition. They invest considerable time and effort in working with customers towards success. Their team provides personal attention 100% of the time.

Rollsoft is a small start-up company in the fin-tech field. An old version of our solution already runs for a few years. As CTO I am responsible for delivering the next generation of this application.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Temy?

We plan to build a new version of our WEB application, completely from scratch. For this we wanted to start with UX/UI design. The project included design from scratch for all the customer-facing screens (~50 screens), and delivering it in Zeplin in a way a front-end developer can use them.

What were your goals for this project?

* Precise plan of the UX workflow for the application * Professional looking design for the various screen * All outcome should be usable by front-end developer (not necessarily inn Temy).

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

As a small company, we did not have to much time/resources for market research. I therefore based my decision on recommendations from a couple of good professional friends in Israel who worked with off-shore software houses.

I considered 2 options, and Temy seemed the most professional. Also, they had a very good "let's do it" approach and started work even before we finalized the terms. They proceeded with an offer that started small, with an option to enlarge the engagement later on. Before final decision I went over a few other applications they designed previously.

Describe the project in detail.

We started with a general description of our envisioned application together with Denys from Temy. Denys suggested the technical architecture (complete with costs of development and production), and continued by suggesting the UX/UI project. My role was PM - spec and wireframes; while Temy did the workflow design, and the UI design for each screen.

We did weekly meetings to sync everyone involved, but beyond that I was in almost daily contact with the designers. The design was based on a design system they suggested (Carbon), and the various components (such as table) were based on existing components that can be used during implementation. Towards the end of the project we hired Temy also for the design of our landing (home) page, which is currently towards completion.

What was the team composition?

The team mainly included the UX designer manager (Andri) and a designer (Oleh) who implemented most of the screens. I know that they had quite a lot of interaction with front-end developers in Temy, to ensure the design can be implemented.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project took more resources than initially expected, but this was because we didn't know initially what will be the amount of screens and therefore the estimation was very rough. The design went through review by my peers, and comments/fixes were implemented quickly.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

For this project I was the only point of contact, and responsiveness was very good. most of the interaction was based either on Slack/emails or conf calls. Beyond Slack we used Trello for project management, however for this small project it was not really needed or used. We are now working with Temy on backend implementation and use Jira to assign and track tasks.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

* The "Let's do it" approach, jumping into technical design and initial UX workflow before we decided on the engagement. * They have an impressive amount of technical knowledge, both in web architecture and in UX/UI. The team has mastered many tools, components and principles as evidenced by their work (like deciding on colors for our logo). * Good UX solutions for various user tasks (such as uploading documents or filling a table)

Are there any areas for improvement?

The overall outcome application design (and also design of other applications designed by Temy) is very professional and clean; it's not very inspirational or includes and "WOW" components - although for our audience it's probably the right approach (and also we wouldn't want to invest too much in "WOW" elements development).
