Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CFO of the Vermont Bar Association, a professional membership organization for Vermont licensed attorneys.

What challenge were you trying to address with Technology Consultants, Inc.?

We’ve used Technology Consultants, Inc. (TCI) as our managed IT services provider since 2015. At the time, we had to get a new server, so we looked at several companies to help us with it.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Before engaging with TCI, we were on a small business server, so they first helped us migrate to the Office Suite. Since then, they’ve become our managed IT services partner.

Among other services, TCI monitors our networks and workstations, and they provide any technical support needed. They also watch over our systems to ensure that they’re running properly, handling the updates and cloud backups as needed.

What is the team composition?

We work with 2–3 people from TCI, depending on the need. Michael (President & CEO) was our initial contact. He talked with us about our needs and provided us with proposals. Then, he brought in his technicians to work with him until everything was implemented.

How did you come to work with Technology Consultants, Inc.?

As a bar association, we have large meetings with our membership, to which different vendors usually come. TCI was one of those vendors, so we met Michael there and developed a relationship with him.

How much have you invested with them?

I don’t know the exact amount, but we’ve spent around $50,000–$100,000. We pay them a monthly fee to monitor our systems. However, the initial system implementation had a different cost.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together around June 2015, and our engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’re very appreciative of TCI’s work, and we’ve enjoyed our relationship with them tremendously. They always work with us to understand our needs and find solutions that would work best for us.

How did Technology Consultants, Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?

TCI’s project management is excellent. They always provide us with the information we ask for, and they’ve given us a lot of great recommendations. If we need technical assistance, we create a ticket where we can indicate the importance level of the issue. Depending on the urgency, there is an expected time for their response. They’ve always responded within the expected timeframe. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’ve been at the bar association for almost 30 years, so I’ve been through several technology changes. What I appreciate the most about TCI is the fact that they’re very down-to-earth, listen to our needs, and find solutions that are perfect for how our office operates. Additionally, I appreciate their proactive approach to technology, keeping us aware of technology changes and monitoring our systems to find issues before they become a problem. They keep our systems, server, and workstations updated, running, and safe.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything that TCI could improve on. We’ve enjoyed our experience working with them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I would highly recommend TCI. They’ve been great for us, and they’re wonderful to work with.

For what projects/services did your company hire Technology Consultants, Inc.?

Our firm was in dire need of IT expertise, cyber security and operational monitoring.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Having worked with the owner of TCi on other projects, we immediately felt a degree of trust and confidence in TCi that we did not get from other IT companies.

TCi provides ongoing technical and cyber security support for our law firm.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Our main point of contact is Mike, however, we have frequently worked with Chris and other members of Mike's staff.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Mike and his team have successfully implemented technological and security upgrades that have allowed our firm to operate more efficiently. Their services allow us to focus on our business without having to worry about the technological end of things.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Very effective. Someone from the TCi team is always available to take our calls and handle our issues.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I am impressed with their ability to address any issue almost immediately.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

No, we're very happy with their services and would highly recommend TCi to anyone.
