I required the recruitment and management of staff in a remote office. Tasks included bookkeeping, payroll, activity statement lodgement and general admin duties. TechnoGlobal Team Inc provided the HR and guidelines and compliance with all local laws.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Being our first time in offshoring, there was much to learn and TechnoGlobal Team Inc guided us through this process with ease. Initially, we were looking for a solid skill set and we were not disappointed with the applicants TechnoGlobal Team Inc put forward.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

All meetings were professionally organized in Skype and managed to timeframes.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The unique quality that TechnoGlobal Team Inc brought to the table was personal relationships. When I first ventured to Manila, I felt a part of their bigger team, just with an office 9000km away.

Over the journey, TechnoGlobal Team Inc has perfected its process and made continual improvements.

I’m the CTO of a cloud services provider based in Australia.

What challenge were you trying to address with TechnoGlobal?

We’d been offshoring to India for years, but it was a difficult and cumbersome task to run a staff and maintain reliable management overseas. TechnoGlobal took over all of our business processes.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

TechnoGlobal is taking care of the operational aspects of my staff. Their main job is to ensure that my staff is happy, healthy, and at work. They’re focused on understanding Australian business, and they have Australian staff involved in the work, leading to a synergy between the Australian and Filipino cultures.

The mentality of their management team is good, and the HR team is part of that. We work directly with them and they hire people I approve of. Their knowledge is extensive compared to mine, and they make good choices on how to operate the team. They understand the legal scenarios and the cultural aspects around the employees themselves, but they’ve also introduced me to other customers of theirs, encouraging a community culture in which we share knowledge. 

They also provide other operational services, such as an in-house nurse. They understand many of the reasons why people change jobs and are working to mitigate those. Their retention rate is far superior to similar companies.

What is the team composition?

I work with their operations, HR, management, and IT teams, talking with pretty much all their departments. I talk to all their important people whenever I need to, and they’re usually available. I have one contact in each department, and IT comes in as needed. In terms of key staff members, we have an operations manager, an offshore manager, and an HR manager.

How did you come to work with TechnoGlobal?

TechnoGlobal tailors its services to Australian companies, with a lot of IT clients in particular. We chose to work with them as they eliminate our worries around the legal, benefits, and regulatory aspects of running an offshore staff. They’ve enabled us to operate our business, without having to worry about the staff and other things that come with it.

How much have you invested with them?

Our investment across the years has been $100,000–$1 million.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with TechnoGlobal in 2017, and the engagement is ongoing. We’re looking to grow the team there.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They give us the right platform to find the right staff. In terms of impact, their customer community and social engagements are always important. They encourage people to share their successes and failures, so I don’t have to be there all the time to experience those myself; I’m able to learn from other people’s mistakes.

How did TechnoGlobal perform from a project management standpoint?

They have good-to-high-level responsiveness, but I’m very easy to deal with and I only need to talk to them once a week. We have direct access to their staff, so we take care of most of it internally. From an operations perspective, we judge things on a case-by-case basis.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The biggest key for business success is their ability to focus on running the business, preventing us from having to worry about dealing with overseas politics and cultural items. They make it easy for me to run the business seamlessly.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There are always procedural improvements that young companies can make, but I don’t have any complaints. They’re pretty free and open, social events are seamless, and they’re keen to help us engage with staff and other clients. They’ve always been accommodating to me, discussing my travel plans, and picking me up from the airport.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

A long trial, of several months, is better than a shorter one in order to adjust to cultural differences. Success is predominantly based on the procedural maturity within a company. We thought we were organized with our procedures, but we weren’t, and you can never be too prepared.

Have a regular physical presence to establish respect and authority amongst the team. Organizing social events and taking an interest in the staff’s culture—who they are and where they’re from—is a key aspect in that.

We engaged TechnoGlobal for back-office staffing and offshoring services.

What was the scope of their involvement?

TechnoGlobal initially handled our IT work; they set us up with a cloud-based system that works well for us. They’ve since moved into working with our internal sales team and setting up appointments for us. We also now have our Australian operations hosted there. TechnoGlobal uses professional HR processes. An expatriate helps our teams manage requirements across multiple countries. 

What is the team composition?

We started working with one person, and our team has grown to 11–12 people. Our project team consists of 4–5 team members, including a business development manager, a managing director, and the president.

How did you come to work with TechnoGlobal?

We wanted to find an offshoring company that provides a safe and productive environment for staff to work. TechnoGlobal offers top-notch amenities, clean conditions, and excellent benefits such as spousal insurance and higher-than-average salaries. They were not the cheapest option, but their values aligned best with ours.

We spend $20,000–$25,000 per month.

We started working together in June 2014, and the collaboration is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

TechnoGlobal is an integral part of our business; they’re responsible for processing over $40 million every year. They invest in finding and keeping top-notch team members, meeting my strict requirements and giving us options for each new resource we plan to bring on. Their team also brings new perspectives to our day-to-day business decisions, which we appreciate.

How did TechnoGlobal perform from a project management standpoint?

Because we’ve worked with their team for five years now, TechnoGlobal’s team members have been promoted to leadership roles and provide mentoring programs to incoming resources. The team excels at managing any project in any industry. We can give them an agenda for any project and they have no issues.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their staff engagement programs stand out the most to me. TechnoGlobal works hard to make sure everyone on the team feels like a part of the family. They support their talent and give them reasons to stay within the business—and more engaged team members are more productive. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

TechnoGlobal could hire more quickly, but I’m very strict about my guidelines for each potential resource, so delays come from both ends. I can’t think of anything else they could improve on right now.
