I approached Techne in regards to building a website for us. This started with doing a discovery meeting to work out our goals and how to proceed. 
From there Techne got to work on early designs keeping us in the loop and checking in to make sure that we're happy with the direction that it was heading. Once we were happy our content started to get added in, also including any changes that we may want to implement on the way. This was all completed very fast and to a very high standard, allowing us to start marketing before we opened up.

We have had more than 500 bookings made since February.

Many people have found us through looking up Parkour classes meaning our the seo is great and targeting the correct geographical locations.

• Developing a comprehensive sitemap covering 50+ screens across organiser, guest, and admin flows.
• Producing detailed low-fidelity wireframes to map functionality, logic, and edge cases.
• Designing high-fidelity UI concepts and a complete Figma prototype to support handover to development.

The project delivered clear, tangible outcomes that significantly reduced delivery risk and moved our platform from concept to build-ready.

• A complete MVP definition, progressing from ~10–20% clarity to a fully documented product scope covering 50+ screens and end-to-end user flows.
• A clickable Figma prototype that enabled confident handover to development and alignment across founders, designers, and engineers.
• Finalised technical assumptions and architecture inputs, removing unknowns ahead of development and allowing a firm build start date to be locked in.
• An itemised scope with feature breakdowns, timelines, and cost estimates, enabling accurate budgeting and investor conversations.

  Overall, the work materially de-risked the build phase, shortened the path to development, and gave the business confidence to proceed with execution.

What stood out most was their honesty and clarity. Gordon was upfront about gaps, risks, and unknowns early, which built trust and avoided wasted time or false confidence.

They were pragmatic rather than salesy, focused on setting the project up properly instead of overpromising, and genuinely cared about getting the foundations right so the build could succeed.

There aren’t any meaningful areas for improvement. The experience was smooth, collaborative, and well run from start to finish.

If anything, the process reinforced the value of doing proper discovery and scoping upfront, which Techne handled well and made the rest of the journey easier.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Techne. has built three connected software solutions for us: a mobile app and two web portals. The team has created the UI screens and developed the prototypes. We’ve had two free 30-minute Q&As to outline everything about the app. Then, we’ve had four in-depth meetings to discuss every possible outcome, feature, and requirement for the app.

After that, Techne. has built everything. I’ve provided some UI screens, and the team has developed the software and added a little bit more to it. For example, if a user is looking for a gym trainer, they can log into the app and see all the gyms in the area. The user can purchase a three-day or one-week pass through the app, which connects to the gym’s server.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We had already worked with another company to build our application's MVP. We wanted to take those ideas and concepts to produce a product that could be available to the public. Techne. has changed the original MVP because some of the modeling didn't fit what was viable. The team has explained these changes to us since we aren't technical professionals. 

Techne. primarily focuses on app development and continues to communicate different ideas and tools that can be built into the app. The team also suggests marketing strategies we can consider for continued app development in the future. Techne. has developed the app for iOS and Android devices and is looking into launching it for iPad and integrating AI features. The team is working on the backend to learn which things need to be adjusted when we request this work.

The app's success will be measured upon recognition from the public since it's designed to teach children how to call emergency services if they ever have to. Success for us will be when we receive an email or phone call from a family saying our app has helped save a life. 

Techne. is proactive., and their work aligns with who we are. Techne. goes above and beyond to ensure we maintain our business and are set up for success. I can't see us working with any other vendor for development work.

Techne. is available 24 hours a day. We've sent emails at strange times, and the team responds to us quickly. We've even had to stop Techne. at times because they wanted to start working on our idea, and we asked them to discuss it first. Techne. is ready to get in and help us achieve success. We communicate with Gordon via email and text messages and with the lead developer via Slack.

Techne.'s lead developer's patience is amazing. Additionally, Gordon has believed in our company and allowed our invoicing to get lighter at times because he knows we want a long-term partnership with Techne. He's investing in our company with his guidance and support to help achieve our vision. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Techne.'s most impressive quality is their passion for our business. Techne. isn't a development company that takes money and executes what we ask; they're genuinely invested in the business and team they're working with. Techne. works with us instead of working for us. 

Additionally, when I don't understand something or have a unique idea, I can call Techne. without fear of being judged, and the team explains it down to the smallest level. I trust that Techne. has my back, and I'd trust them with my children.

I suggest not holding back from working with Techne. The moment I was introduced to the team, I wanted to sign an agreement. Techne. is an impeccable company that believes in the businesses they work with. If they didn't believe in our business, they would have probably chosen another project. In the initial discovery meeting, Gordon's ability to understand, conceptualise, and strategise our vision in such a short time frame was outstanding. In the beginning stages of the project, working very closely with Gordon and his team to review, design, challenge, and validate concepts, product features, and functionality was highly successful, enjoyable, and timely (the efficiency of the work completed exceeded our expectations). 

The final design (UX/UI) of the application is fantastic, and it has also exceeded our expectations. Gordon went above and beyond to deliver on all services, ensuring we were always satisfied with the outcome. He was always happy to make any changes or additional requests that we had.

I am the Managing Director and Founder of PEISO, an innovative profitability software for the Hospitality Industry.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Techne R&D Holdings Ltd, and what were your goals?

Peiso was an idea, and as a non-tech founder I needed to find a developer to bring my vision to life. I interviewed over 15 development companies for the project, and Gordon was a clear and obvious choice.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

No software solution does what Peiso was attempting to do, and the key for me was Gordon's ability to readily understand what I wanted to achieve, and how I wanted to do so. I had developed an MVP, and Gordon quickly grasped the underlying logic behind Peiso and detailed a plan about how we would get there.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

Peiso was an excel MVP, with multiple sophisticated algorithms. With such a complex project, this was an essential starting point, as I was able to explain and show the team what needed to be done. Peiso relies on information from 3 sources via integrations. This in itself was a complex ask for an initial product. So the scope was to create a software solution from a rudimentary MVP, including 3 integrations. Technes project steps are ideal. In collaboration with a UX designer, we created a basic version of Peiso pre code. This allowed 90% of the key elements to be understood and mapped out. We then engaged the UI, and the design and elegance was just what I wanted. We then went to coding. This process is very thorough, and ensures minimal missteps and prevents doing things two and three times.

I worked with Gordon as project lead, then directly with a PM, UX, and beta tester.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The outcomes were a working software solution, and secondly, and perhaps more importantly, the right one. As an initial version of the product, with years of development still to take place, the key not to over engineer the product, but at the same time to have something that delivered value. This was achieved in quick time and within budget.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

We invested in scoping the project in detail, and then through the stages as described above. We used slack as a core comms tool, which is ideal. The style is collaborative but something of great value offered by Techne is how they keep things realistic. As a non-tech founder, I am not conversant on consequences of design decisions, and Gordon and the team trained me as we progressed. This alone has saved me months of work.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Receiving robust feedback and the quality of the process and comms. What we didn't do is as valuable as what we decided to do, and advanced the project significantly.

No to be honest.
