I found translating my specific needs into the required development tasks a quick, agile process. Expectations were clearly set from the start, and everything was delivered punctually in accordance with the proposal and the expectations established during the kick-off. The project management was meticulous, serious, and thorough. 
The time allocated for each task was realistic and seldom deviated from the plan. If any deviations occurred, they were communicated promptly, and adjustments were made after consultation. The team coordination was excellent, making it smooth to collaborate with the various members.

Some of the key requirements were:

• design for maintenability by a small team of senior system programmers with only limited  experience in web programming,

• ability to synchronize with other backends (private Rust registry and private Python index).

After a few email exchanges in the first ~1 week to discuss the main technological choice, the implementation started in earnest. Therafter, progress was discussed and feedback was provided during weekly meetings with the assigned developer.

All along, communication was excellent. The team was very experienced. They made sure to always provide a rationale for their choices and responding swiftly to any feedback. Despite the relatively demanding timeline, the product was delivered on time and exceeded our expectations.

We have been using the electronic medical record for quite some time now and it's being updated regularly. We schedule weekly meetings to discuss the tickets and tasks, which are being solved in a timely manner.

In the past, there were some periods when the agreed number of hours wasn't met which resulted in a delay in the process. For a few months now, I've been in contact with Mark every week to discuss the progress and communication and that has been extremely helpful.

As someone who has zero experience or knowledge in this field I'm very happy with the clear communication/ explanation and tools provided to perform tasks.

As I wrote before, there have been some periods where deadlines weren't met and the communication about that lacked, but that has been improved for quite some time now. With the weekly meetings with Mark I feel like we're making a lot more progress. I am generally very pleased with the work they have completed this year. So for now I don't see any areas for improvement.

As mentioned previously, we worked with Dmitry from a Project Management perspective and Piotr as a developer. They were great to work with and really understood what we were trying to achieve and worked with us in a great collaborative way. It was only due to a business decision to bring the development in-house that caused us to part ways. However, should we have a need to outsource additional development in the future, we would go back to Teacode!

Are there any areas for improvement or something TeaCode.io could have done differently?

Nothing really comes to mind at all. We worked together very openly to address any small items that occurred during onboarding, which was transparent and also being clear in how we could work better together, which was great to be open about providing feedback whenever either side saw any improvements that could be made in the working relationship.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We’ve been working with TeaCode.io for many years on multiple projects; they’ve fulfilled our development needs. For every project, we’re in charge of the design, and TeaCode.io’s developers build the product. They work almost as a part of our team.

The projects we work on with TeaCode.io start with a classic discovery phase with the end clients to define the requirements and assess the project’s needs. Then, we go into the UX design phase. After that, we go into the development phase, which is when TeaCode.io’s team comes in.

Throughout the development process, we work in weekly or biweekly sprints until we deliver the code. We also test the code; TeaCode.io has a QA engineer whom we’ve worked with. As far as we know, TestCode.io also has design capabilities, but we haven’t used them for design services.

We’ve worked with TeaCode.io on different projects, some of which are very long and some of which are short. One of our main projects has been developing an app for students to apply for loan funding. That app required an identity confirmation feature.

For that project, we inherited a legacy system our client provided, so we had to migrate the thousands of users the client already had on a very large database to the cloud. During this process, TeaCode.io’s developers supported us a lot.

The project also required developing a portal. On the app, the users would apply for a loan by first going through the verification process using the identity verification mentioned. Then, they would provide more details on the course they want to study and how much money they need.

After that, users would go through an approval process, after which they get redirected to the portal, where they would see if they’ve been approved, as well as other information. As for the technology stack, TeaCode.io used React on the frontend and Node.js on the backend.

Overall, it was a very long project on which TeaCode.io basically managed everything. Currently, we’re working on developing a small CRM system.

We’ve worked with 5–8 teammates from TeaCode.io at different levels, as we’ve worked with different team members across our different projects. TeaCode.io’s team includes full stack developers and QA engineers. Our main point of contact is Michał (CTO & Co-Founder), and we also work closely with Kamil (Product Manager).

How did you come to work with TeaCode.io?

We’re based in Berlin, Germany, so we were looking for a company in Poznan, Poland, because that city is very close to us as the first tech city in Poland. When we found TeaCode.io, we visited them and liked them. They made a good impression, so we took it from there.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $100,000–$150,000 across our different projects.

We started working together around June 2021, and our engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

TeaCode.io is a great partner for us. Unfortunately, I don’t have any metrics on the performance of our projects. I know that the number of users on the app we developed has increased, but I don’t have access to those numbers.

How did TeaCode.io perform from a project management standpoint?

TeaCode.io is very good regarding project management; we always work as one team on our different projects. As for collaboration tools, we keep our Slack communication lines open. Additionally, we use Jira for project management.

What did you find most impressive about them?

TeaCode.io is a very reliable, trustworthy, and great team. We get along well, and they’ve always done a very good job. Michał is very hands-on. In addition to that, TeaCode.io’s flexibility is outstanding. Overall, they’re very similar to us, so they support us to the best of their ability.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s nothing TeaCode.io could improve on. They’re new to the design space, but I haven’t seen their design team in action to provide constructive feedback. As peer developers, they’re very good.

Go in with a clear picture of what you want to get out of the engagement and have a clear budget in mind, and TeaCode.io will help you see what’s possible. Additionally, you can trust that their estimates would be fair.

I’m the CEO of a travel mobile application company. We help groups plan trips, making it a lot simpler and easier. People are often dissuaded from taking trips because there’s so much coordination and planning, so our goal is to reduce the time it takes to plan a trip from 10 hours to a matter of minutes.

What challenge were you trying to address with TeaCode.io?

I wasn’t experienced in programming a few years ago. We needed to find a reputable company to build the mobile app for us in a pretty aggressive time span.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially, TeaCode.io walked us through the process. They were able to understand the idea and translate it into the concrete steps we required.

TeaCode.io has concentrated on two big features. First, users can invite people on a trip, and each person in the group swipes right on recommended attractions and restaurants if they want to experience them. Once everyone is done voting, we aggregate the group’s preferences. The algorithm identifies the most popular activities and restaurants and plots them logically on a daily itinerary, taking into account the hours of operation and proximity from one to another. In the end, users get this neat and tight schedule with the most popular things in their group, which is the key differentiator for our business.

The second feature is the development of social media. When users finish their trip, we want them to post about it on our own social feed and tag the experiences they had on their trip so their followers can save them to their bucket list and start planning for future trips.

We’ve used React Native on the frontend, React Query as the state manager, TypeScript, and Amplify using GraphQL and AWS AppSync for the backend. Additionally, the database is DynamoDB, and TeaCode.io provides T-Recs to provide smart, personalized recommendations.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with Piotr and Dima (Fullstack Developers), Gabriela (Head of Project Management Office), and a lead engineer. Additionally, we’ve had Marcin (QA Automation Engineer).

How did you come to work with TeaCode.io?

We did a lot of research and used Clutch. We spoke to about 20 firms in Ukraine, India, and Poland. Ultimately, we landed on TeaCode.io due to their perfect rating at the time.

Other engineering firms asked for robust documentation, which seemed intimidating. However, TeaCode.io was able to understand our business speak and translate it into code. Additionally, English proficiency was important to us. Communication was vital, especially with a remote team, so we needed to know we were speaking on the same level. TeaCode.io was very communicative and enthusiastic about the project.

We also felt we could get more focus from them because they were a small company.

We’ve paid $355,000 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in July 2021, and our partnership is ongoing. We’re at a lower capacity with them right now; we’re trying to raise some funding to escalate to a bigger team again.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our application has been live since January 2023. We’re growing at 30% month-over-month. At this point, we have almost 700 users, and around 50% are monthly active users. We’ve been successful, but we’re still working our way up by tinkering, listening to customer feedback, and iterating.

How did TeaCode.io perform from a project management standpoint?

TeaCode.io has done an excellent job; they’ve been extremely flexible to scale the team up and down. Moreover, it was particularly impressive that they were quick to incorporate changes. We changed the specification even before we got to the consumer feedback stage. While we were trying out the product, we realized some things we hadn’t seen before, and TeaCode.io implemented that revised workflow. Overall, we’ve spent a bit more money than we initially envisioned, but we’ve been satisfied with TeaCode.io’s budget and timing.

We use Jira for project management and Slack for communication. Additionally, we have a weekly check-in via Google Meets.

What did you find most impressive about them?

TeaCode.io has communicated well, and the team is responsive and hardworking. Moreover, their ability to understand the end case and push back when they think something isn’t intuitive for a user has been very helpful. Our team is in the weeds, so it’s hard to get that full picture and simulate what an outsider would think about the app. Nonetheless, TeaCode.io has the business judgment, consumer knowledge, and willingness to advance the product.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I can’t think of anything. They’ve grown as a company, but they’re still a tight-knit group of people who share their knowledge. TeaCode.io is dedicated to their clients, and they have a personal touch. For example, they send us a Christmas gift basket every year to me and my co-founders.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I recommend thinking through every detail and developing prototypes with consumers before building your app. We initially thought we had the complete picture, but it turned out we only presented around 40% of the screens that were actually involved in the app, so there was a lot of room for interpretation. We also didn’t validate the UX design with consumers before building the product, which led to revising it multiple times throughout the process.

Overall, be precise about the specifications to keep the costs down. An engineering firm won’t have to make many judgment calls or communicate to confirm details if you give them the requirements.

The project is for a web based platform in which audits for the aviation industry will be performed, teacode helped us develop the platform from the ground up through workshops and have been instrumental in fleshing out the plan. Now, teacode is performing the main development and testing of the platform, and if all goes well, will provide continuing development after the initial release.

We had a meeting with them to discuss our needs and asked for a quote. We were very happy with all the information provider to us and the introduction of the people who would be in charge of the project and their understanding of it reassured us.

I’m the CEO and Founder of Buzzin. We develop visitor-management solutions for premises, such as towers, offices, schools, and hotels, to digitize their visitor management process.

What challenge were you trying to address with TeaCode.io?

We’re a startup, so instead of hiring internal developers, we decided to partner with an external development company.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

TeaCode.io has developed our solution for us from start to finish based on our requirements. Originally, we tasked them to develop a proof of concept (POC), which they delivered within 3–6 months. After we agreed on the architecture, my CTO went through our requirements one by one before TeaCode.io started the development process.

Since finishing the POC development, TeaCode.io has kept fine-tuning the solution and adding more features per our request. Currently, we have a big list of features and improvements we keep adding to based on customer demands and requirements, and we keep working with TeaCode.io to implement them. A third party originally did the design, but TeaCode.io has adapted the same design for different interfaces.

Our solution has three components: a mobile app, an Android app for tablets we provide our customers with, and a web-based dashboard. As for the technology stack, they’ve used AWS and MongoDB. This solution can be used without downloading the mobile app, but it is a plus for tenants who have it because they can enjoy our benefits to their full extent.

Our customers download the app on the tablet we provide, which is placed at the reception desk. As visitors walk in, they scan their ID on the tablet using our solution, and tenants can see the visitors’ traffic on the dashboard. If those tenants decide to download the mobile app, they can also receive notifications, send QR code invites, and more.

What is the team composition?

We initially worked with 3–4 people from TeaCode.io on the POC development. After launching our solution, their team was scaled down to two people, so we're currently working with a project manager and a developer.

How did you come to work with TeaCode.io?

I originally researched three companies, including TeaCode.io, and sent them a list of requirements. I got their quotes, and from our interactions, I could see their level of engagement and transparency. Ultimately, I felt the most comfortable working with TeaCode.io; their offering and pricing were very good, and their proposal was very detailed regarding timelines.

How much have you invested in them?

We’ve spent between $100,000–$150,000.

We started working with them in August 2020, and the project is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The solution developed by TeaCode.io is bug-free, and everything works well. We’ve only had one incident, but it was caused by a third-party integration. Still, whenever they find issues, they quickly solve them.

Since this product is a B2B solution, it is important for us that it is better, faster, and more convenient than other solutions in the market. So far, it has had great acceptance, and we’ve been able to acquire important customers in a short period of time.

Overall, TeaCode.io is a very experienced development partner; whenever I request a new feature, someone on their team has already implemented a similar feature in the past, so it is no problem for them. They’ve never told me they can’t do something and always find a solution.

How did TeaCode.io perform from a project management standpoint?

TeaCode.io works for us based on hours. I hire them for 60 hours per month and task them to do work for me within those hours. Initially, we had two meetings per week, but we now meet once per week. Additionally, we use Slack for communication and Jira for project management.

What did you find most impressive about them?

TeaCode.io is trustworthy, professional, and transparent. They never try to hide things, so we’ve established a good sense of trust and comfort, which makes me feel that I’m working with the right team.

Are there any areas they could improve?

If anything, it would be great if they were more proactive on the consultancy side. For example, they could give us more suggestions on how to do things differently and propose more improvements. Still, I haven’t asked them to do that.

Have a full-time resource from your team dedicated to them so that someone from your company can entirely focus on the project and avoid wasting time.
