We had a service that sent daily motivational quotes to thousands of people. We market this service to other businesses. The system was old and needed to be refreshed. They helped with the modules that sign people up on a website, send the messages to their subscribers and process payments for us.

They were very responsive to our needs and even though the project took longer than we anticipated, it was not because of a lack of effort on their part. Software development is tricky.

In the beginning there was a disconnect between the people in charge of the process and our people and that was a major issue. However, once we addressed that with them and they switched people, it flowed great.

We needed their team to develop and design our website.

What was the scope of their involvement?

TATEEDA has developed and designed our website from scratch. Apart from that, we’re also in the process of creating our custom CMS platform with their team. We’re partners of Microsoft, so we use tools such as Azure and Angular during the development phase.

As for the design work, TATEEDA is in charge of designing our UI, working on the site’s backend with the help of our in-house team. 

Our website is scheduled to go live in a few days.

I worked with them on a different project for another company I was part of.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re impressed with the product of TATEEDA’s hard work. They build the solutions that we need through a work pace that’s very accommodating yet quick. We don’t find the need to ask them to work on bugs or other issues because the products are seamless. And when we do encounter areas that need polishing, they work on it right away. Everything just adds up to a very pleasant experience.

How did TATEEDA perform from a project management standpoint?

We use InstinctHub for project management, but we’re planning to switch to Jira soon. TATEEDA’s team possesses top-notch communication skills —we have weekly meetings with them, and they’re always prompt and responsive to our requests. Additionally, their turnaround times are impressive.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their communication skills and time management always stand out — we’re always confident that they’ll deliver high-quality results in a timely manner. TATEEDA’s team swears by a superb work ethic, that’s why we think highly of them as our development partner.

I am the Software Technical Lead at D&K Engineering. D&K provides Total Commercialization Solutions® for products and instruments that have high innovation content and complex manufacturing lifecycles.

Our capabilities span the entire product lifecycle, including requirements definition, systems architecture, concept creation, design, prototyping, manufacturing, and after-market support.

For what projects/services did your company hire TATEEDA?

Our company is always busy to the point that we sometimes do not have enough engineers available for a project. This was the case for the project of this review in terms of Windows programmers.

We looked outside our organization for local programmers, but found no one with the extensive Windows C# / MVVM / WPF expertise. After that, we learned about and engaged with Tateeda to augment our staff for this work.

What were your goals for this project?

Our objective was to create a shippable, automated mechanical system that meets performance and user interface requirements.

SOLUTION

How did you select TATEEDA?

We interviewed several local candidates who were proficient Windows programmers, but didn't have a good grasp of the complex areas of Windows programming that we needed. A co-worker in our organization was familiar with Tateeda and suggested we contact them. After a few meetings, it was clear that Tateeda would be able to handle the work.

Describe the project in detail.

Our electro-mechanical device was requested to complement another device that our client created. It included a software interface framework using reflection, wcf, wpf, sql, and several other advanced concepts. On the software side, our task was to re-use as much of that largely undocumented framework as possible to adopt several common features, while adding new interface screens to control and monitor the progress of our device.

What was the team composition?

Our integrated solution was created with work performed by ID, mechanical, electrical, firmware, software, and quality assurance engineers. A senior program manager oversaw the project in total, and focused on the mechanical / logistics side. A second program manager guided the test / firmware / software efforts. We had a system architect that envisioned the general project, and a second system architect that oversaw the integration of all components .

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project has experienced some difficulties due to updated requirements, some mechanical design changes, and delays due to Covid-19. However, the system has generally been solid, and despite the schedule delays, our client is moving forward, with a ship date planned for June 2021.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

I was the primary point of contact between our team and the Tateeda team. We used Slack to do technical discussions, and had a weekly Skype call to discuss status. Task tracking took place initially through tasks in Redmine, until we migrated to JIRA / Crucible / BitBucket. We have a timezone difference, but our primary Tateeda engineer generally worked hours that overlapped ours enough to communicate effectively. Tateeda participated as a normal part of the team.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

TATEEDA's expertise in doing Windows work is impressive, as the team created new interfaces for our project. But equally as impressive is their ability to understand existing code, to the point of rapidly fixing issues that reside in code that none on our team created. Their were almost always correct the first time, and when they weren't, it was due to the provided description of the problem being incorrect.

For what projects/services did your company hire TATEEDA, and what were your goals?

We received a request to develop a software solution for a pharmacy network, but the client wanted to use a specific tech stack that we didn’t have available. TATEEDA assisted us with our software development project, including frontend and backend development using SQL Server and .NET. The project was a turnkey web-based platform for a pharmacy network.

TATEEDA offered us a full stack of resources and services, including tech consulting, which allowed for quick project deployment. Their team carried out the entire project from scratch, including the system architecture, UX design, front-end/back-end coding, and quality testing. The client required a feature-rich software platform that would become one of their key business instruments.

This platform was conceptualized as a joint node interconnecting distribution, with inventory and a customer support portal. Since the client had no plans to deploy an in-house team of developers, they were looking for alternative cost-efficient solutions, such as outstaffing or outsourcing.

Their goal was to grow the pharmacy network and optimize their internal workflow, e.g. automation of medical drug distribution and inventory management processes. In addition, they required a well-configured system for medical drug delivery tracking, shared across a variety of locations and branches.

SOLUTION

How did you select TATEEDA and what were the deciding factors?

TATEEDA was recommended to us by one of their previous satisfied customers.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

TATEEDA’s dedicated PM was very attentive and supportive throughout the project’s preparation stage, followed by a series of very detailed interviews with the client’s key staff members, to help them clarify business logic and expectations, and to come up with a few helpful suggestions.

They then introduced a generalized plan for the future solution's structure and capabilities. After TATEEDA and the client agreed on resources, timelines, project scope, and general budget limitations, TATEEDA quickly deployed their team in a matter of hours and went to work on the project.

The team developed several modules, including an inventory and pharmacy documentation management platform driven by ASP.Net, to render dynamic web pages, extended with .Net API-based integrations with the shipping provider and delivery tracking modules, and equipped with notification functionality. The project’s backend is powered by Azure, MS SQL, and ServiceBus, including real-time data exchange with our internal database.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The new platform allowed the client to better manage their pharmacy inventory and seamlessly integrate a delivery tracking module, which helped them to analyze, optimize, and dynamically scale their business processes. They’ve added more branches, locations and customer accounts over time. Thanks to streamlined distribution to the client’s facilities and delivery to customers' homes, their company was able to introduce a large expansion plan.

Our collaboration was highly efficient at every step. TATEEDA added value to the project far beyond the intended scope of work. Their tech guidance for establishing a new system was priceless. And we cannot give them enough praise for their development efforts, expertise, and diligence.

Special Software used in ELX808 Spectrophotometer which was an old program that worked for WINDOWS XP and desktop PC's only and they upgraded making it compatible with any future operating system and for laptops along with desktop.Since we did not have any software file other than installing DVD so they had to work from the scratch .

Make it available and they have done an excellent job.

The project started early 2018 and they have finished it within a very short period of time but since the software was complicated and needed more complicated calculations but ctual work after updating and initial software was almost ready before final custom touches. The service was wonderful, always available when needed and all the emails where replied.

They are a decent team work bur literally one or two persons will come on and off the site when needed.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Without this software and as a government affiliated lab we were able to have a very important software which without it can not run the assays, although we are still running an old software but there will be a time must use the new software to keep the business.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Progect management's were very impressive and the communications were excellent via phone or emails and even Skype if needed.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They make impossible software possible. They put in so much efforts and very high timly consuming job.

I think with such a team and highly intelligent staff the improvement is always the goal but for us as a company we definately will hire them a gain for future assignments.

We use them to augment our in-house team. They develop HTML forms with JavaScript and CSS, adhering to our design specifications and technical requirements for the forms we create. Most of the forms exist on paper, which they then port to web-based versions. They do about 40 hours of work for us each week.

The team we work with is between one and three. That has evolved over the course of the relationship.

How did you come to work with TATEEDA?

Outsourcing was a new concept for us, and we were just starting to consider the possibilities when they emailed us. They're local to us, so we met with them to find out more about the services they provide.

We started working together in April 2018, and the collaboration is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We're happy with their deliverables. They're diligent about timing expectations, and their developers log all their hours well. They adapted to controls, and they stayed updated as we changed technical requirements.

How did TATEEDA perform from a project management standpoint?

Most of our communication is through Slack and Redmine, our ticket tracking system.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were willing to work with a smaller shop. In our experience, other companies were less likely to take on projects of this size. TATEEDA is very accommodating and responsive as we've grown. They're a great partner.

We started with a relatively small effort for Tateeda to prove themselves then ramped up the resources we required from them after they proved they were more than capable of the task.

The project involved the Microsoft back-end stack SQL Server and .NET), an Angular front-end and many pieces that tied it all together. There is a 3rd party communication server and a SignalR component that needed to be integrated into both the front end and back end, and this system needed to provide "virtual conference room" capabilities including shared screens, shared video conferencing (similar to Skype), and real-time communication via both desktop and mobile devices.

The overall project team was approximately 12 people with Tateeda providing up to 4 resources that collaborated with the team.

Sagetree provided the overall app UI design, wireframes, and JSON data endpoints from the web site CMS. Tateeda then collaborated with us to implement the vision for the website, and then helped launch the app on the iOS and Android app stores. The app included data synchronization with the website, push notifications, product catalog, recipe database, reports database, yield calculators, social sharing, and information pages.

We're still in the post-launch phase but overall feedback has been positive on the updated mobile app.

At the kickoff we setup a project schedule and regular weekly checkins. This was effective at ensuring consistent progress. Tateeda was timely in their responses, and communications, and helped keep the project on track along with client expectations. The tools we used included Zoom, Jira, Basecamp and Skype.

They have solid developers and effective project management support at very competitive pricing.

Are there any areas for improvement?

The only item for feedback is the timezone accommodations that need to be made for working with an over-seas development team, meetings were early morning. It would be nice if they're able to schedule them for regular local business times, but this is part of the deal when working with overseas developers. But, the overall value, results, and quality of the work experience with Tateeda was worthwhile.

We needed to transfer our database from Access onto an online web-based format, and that is exactly what Tateeda did except even better. Tateeda was able to develop and design our website from scratch, while also being very communicative with us. The UI design they created for us is very easy to use. They would immediately resolve any issues that occurred and would suggest even better solutions. We use the website they created for us everyday and we have no complaints.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We use eBay as our main selling platform for our e-commerce business. There were several parts of the project that were difficult to understand, but the most difficult would probably have to be connecting our website to our eBay accounts through API. However, Tateeda was able to overcome that difficulty and proceed efficiently.

The online website Tateeda created for us allows us to list items directly to eBay while also keeping track of our inventory, purchases, etc. If they did not understand something, they would not hesitate to ask us questions to get a better understanding of the situation. You can just tell that they were determined and they really took the time to engage in this project.

Absolutely. Once we introduced an issue to them, they would resolve it or get back to us the next day. Most of the time we didn't even have to explain our situation as they would understand immediately. They were very communicative, responsive, reliable, and just very straightforward.
