I hired Cameron the CEO of Tarbel Media to optimize our website.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

On first interaction Cameron seemed very enthusiatic and knwowkedgable. Total bait and switch.

I only directly interacted with Cameron. He indicated other people he contracted were working on the site.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

I was intially very excited to work with Cameron. He is charismatic and seemed knowledgeable. He cold contacted me on Linkedin. After a little over a month and $1500 he changed a few buttons on the existing website and a small portion of copy. The phone number put up was for an eye practice in Utah. I am in Sacramento California. I was called by numerous patients who had to go on Google my business to figure out my actual number. Embarrased I apologized for the oversight.

I went to Cameron for a refund and he refused. I really wanted to like him but major mistakes and unwillingness to refund is not a recipe for happy clients. It also is incredibly damaging to a practices reputation and perceived attention to detail. If your LASIK surgeon can't even get the phone number correct on the website can you really trust them with your eyes?

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Cameron is charismatic. It is helpful to get people to trust in his abilities, but I feel strongly in my case this trust was lost.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Please describe your company and your position there.

I work as the marketing director for Say Yes to the Dresser where we up-cycle and refurbish furniture that was made to last. We do a variety of projects such as taking beloved family heirlooms and helping them to become statement pieces in your home rather than an eyesore. We also offer interior decorating services, painting classes, and have a showroom displaying furniture for sale. All of our furniture we have painted, refurbished, restored, and given a new life.

For what projects/services did your company hire Tarbell Media?

We hired Tarbell Media to create a website for us back when we were flipping furniture out of our garage. We needed a custom website to display that although we were at a humble beginning we were absolutely professional.

What were your goals for this project?

At the time we wanted to ship furniture nationally so one of the features Cameron created for us was an ability for people to be able to shop online from our collection. Additionally, we wanted a place for people to read our story and background as well as hire us for interior decorating projects.

How did you select this vendor?

We heard about Tarble Media through word of mouth from trusted resources. They suggested TM as a great freelance website builder who was easy to contact with questions, easy to work with and an efficient yet professional website builder.

Describe the project in detail.

The initial website was built on in a little over a month, while the more complicated pieces took a few additional months, which included the e-commerce side, automatic tax calculations, and shipping calculation software.

What was the team composition?

Cameron was the primary point of contact for the entire project. I know there were a few other designers working with him, but I did not have contact with them, as having the primary point of contact was sufficient.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

With the launch of the website, we saw more traffic on our Google My Business listing, which did help us with our exposure and a few sales. This wasn't really our goal, as we really just wanted a website to showcase our products, but it was a huge plus.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Most of the project was entirely handled by Tarbell Media, which is why we hired them. We gave them files from time to time with imagery, but that was entirely handled by them.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

For being a relatively small team, Tarbell Media was very professional and worked around our needs. That was expected but sometimes with web designers, there is a lack of empathy, which Tarbell Media showed.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I do wish the project was done in a faster manner, but the end product was really good and worked well. For the price, we really couldn't complain.
