What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The measurable result showing the success were parts of the systems that appeared every two weeks. From week to week we noticed how the system was created, but also evaluated.

According to the contract, we worked in two-week sprints. After each sprint there was a summary, i.e. a presentation of work, a retrospective and a plan for the next sprint. A great challenge was to harmonize the Tandemite team with the other members of the client's team. The commitment and sincerity of the two parties from the beginning of the project helped a lot.

Problems that appeared, we solved in the normal operation mode. There were quite a few of them - but this is a good sign in the project. As a result, the implementation of the systems went according to plan. With one common conclusion, we decided that the analysis we were doing for the first time could have been different, more calorific.

They created a fantastic UX, basically designing the entire application.

We communicated through Jira for tracking the project management work, and we also had plenty of chat sessions and Zoom calls.

Their design capabilities were fantastic and they really understood UX. They built interfaces that made it easy for people to determine how to use the application. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I had to learn to improve my communication because of a language barrier with one of their resources, but it didn’t cause any true problems.

Definitely use an iterative process. Present your ideas on the user journey and then reflect on their first pass. Then, refine it further through conversations and interviews with users.

What were your goals for this project?

The implementation of new websites was to lead to increased sales and positively affect our professional reputation. An important element was also to improve the usability and appearance of the websites owned at that time.

We started our cooperation with Blue Paprica by looking for an auditor for our earlier website, which did not meet our expectations. The right approach and understanding of our needs encouraged us to continue cooperation.

First of all, the existing website was audited. We needed a solution tailored to our extensive offer and to the needs and habits of our customers. We decided to hire the Blue Paprica team to provide a comprehensive implementation of two websites, using the Pimcore platform.

The Blue Paprica team presented us very good functional and graphic design coherent with our existing branding. Planning the sales process was a challenge, because the products from our offer are very different and require different approach to sales.

The Blue Paprica team handled it very well. The presented solution turned out to be intuitive and fully meets our and customers' needs. From the administration panel side the website is easy to use.

We cooperated directly with the Project Manager who communicated all our ideas to the team of graphic designers and programmers. In case of non-standard arrangements we could always call the CEO directly as well.

Implementation of new services is an opportunity for us to gain new customers. We have received a tool to increase the effectiveness of our marketing and sales.

Teroplan S.A. operates in the transport industry. On the e-podroznik.pl portal, we offer ticket sales for both national and international transport (buses, trains, ferries). We cooperate with many carriers in Poland and Europe. We also have additional brands: Hoper and Super PKS. I am CEO of the Teroplan Company.

Our cooperation began in 2013 with a project to create a new version of e-podróżnik.pl website. In the following years, we expanded the scope of work to include permanent design service. Blue Paprica is involved in the work on websites of all our brands.

What were your goals for this project?

We want to offer to our customers the most useful process, online purchase of tickets for public transport services. We needed to refine our products in the field of both usability and design. Our focus is on maximizing conversions, we were looking for a partner who could help us with this.

We are company based in Krakow and we were looking for UX/UI agency that we can cooperate with on a daily basis. That is why we wanted to choose company from Krakow. We finally choose Blue Parica because it is a small agency with a very custom approach. The imporatnt thing for us was also a personal involvment of Blue Parica CEO into our cooperation.

We have been working with the Blue Paprica team for many years. They provide us with comprehensive services from the creative side, UX/UI, graphic design and development. We work together on current tasks and development projects, including user behaviour research. We also sometimes cooperate with the back-end and front-end department of developers in the implementation of websites on the Pimcore platform for carriers cooperating with us.

From Blue Paprica's side we work mainly with a team of UX/UI designers and graphic designers. During CMS implementations we also worked with Pimcore's developers. All the work is coordinated by PM.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Together we have implemented a completely new website epodróżnik.pl, which had a great impact on business development. Changes introduced in the purchasing process significantly improved conversions and increased profits.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

At Blue Paprica, our project is coordinated by a dedicated Project Manager. Thanks to that we have constant and quick contact. The effectiveness of our communication is greatly influenced by frequent visits of the Project Manager and part of the team to our office. We mainly use tools such as Phabricator and Bugzilla to organize tasks.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We appreciate the very high quality of the UX and UI projects, which are definitely the strength of the Blue Paprica team. Their extensive knowledge and competence have often verified and improved our initial ideas.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Sometimes when we order the implementation of a solution we have thought through from a business point of view, we encounter negotiations from the team. I understand that working according to the art is important, but sometimes we require to put the business need above it.

It was also important for us that user can quickly contact us or send a detailed inquiry with an easy-to-use online form. The final effect met our expectations.

An important element was the beginning of the project itself. Together we developed detailed assumptions for the products to be developed. We wanted to transfer the processes carried out so far offline to the Internet. The analytical tools we have worked on so far have been automated.

Together we have created a comprehensive IT system for managing receivables from the category of business intelligence solutions. Blue Paprica has designed and implemented a website rozwaznafirma.pl which allows our customers to use this system in a simple and effective way, significantly increasing their effectiveness in terms of financial receivables control. Blue Paprica has also implemented an internet platform niezaplacone.info for us , which is an exchange on which debt and receivables trading takes place. It is also possible to verify contractors by using that service. Blue Paprica is our long-term partner in creating, developing and maintaining technologically advanced tools.

Our main goal is to ensure the efficient functioning of the Abra Meble online store and its continuous development. The system we are working on is also sales support, where we are tasked with implementing improvements and automation of processes.

During many years of cooperation, the scope of tasks was very wide, generally including comprehensive development services for the Abra Meble online store.

We have implemented many improvements in the company's internal processes, such as automation of the issuance of accounting documents or integration with the sales system supporting 93 stationary stores of the client. We have also developed a dropshipping order handling system.

These functionalities developed the client's business, made work easier and allowed to eliminate many mistakes, thus saving the company time and money.

Our work often includes developmental implementations that open up new business opportunities. For example, a wardrobe configurator was created for this purpose. The company has its own cars delivering goods to customers. We have implemented a solution that allows to calculate the cost of such transport on the basis of the postal code provided by the customer.

In the maintenance of an online store, it is also necessary to take care of the technology and tools that are not visible at first sight. Recently, a team of Blue

Paprica developers has been responsible for the migration of the system from the no longer supported Magento 1 platform to a newer version - Magento 2, including the transfer of about 9 thousand products. We also implemented a store on the Amazon AWS platform and integrated static files with S3.

The role of a comprehensive development service that Blue Paprica performs for us is key to the functioning of large e-commerce. Thanks to the activities carried out in this project, not only is the smooth performance of the store ensured, but also the development and implementation of new solutions and process improvements.

Our cooperation is very extensive and requires constant communication. We plan and discuss tasks with the Project Manager via Redmine, e-mail and frequent teleconferences. The most important element for us was an extensive application form for the competition that would allow startups from several dozen countries to present their activities and apply for participation in the competition. In addition, we wanted to present extensive individual event programs for each of the organizing countries.

BluePaprica took part in one of our previously organized hackathon and made great impression with their work.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

The project was placed on the Pimcore platform. BluePaprica implemented the solution based on our graphical designs, focusing primarily on the form. Applying for the competition required answering many detailed close- and open-ended questions. We also added the option to attach files. An important aspect was allowing the user to go back to a partially filled form to complete it. This was done by means of automatic email notifications, which contained an individual link to a given form. The form itself was designed to be clear, easy-to-use and error-free. The application forms are processed via the Administrator Panel. The processing has been automated thanks to the possibility to import and export data, send automatic notifications and search for and sort the forms. A robust team handles the forms and completes the content. This has been made possible thanks to the option to create user accounts with specific authorizations for selected elements. The project was carried out on the Pimcore platform, suggested by Blue Paprica.

During and after the implementation, we were able to make changes to the project, and there were no problems with the implementation itself. When unforeseen problems arose, we could count on increased mobilization.

While I was working with them, Blue Paprica removed all the bugs from the engine, created new plugins, and developed new solutions. They’ve been dealing with Magento 2. They also provided customization work that wasn’t in the original scope. They also created a shipping section for our cart, and a returns and refunds section.

I’m not sure about the full extent of the project, but I worked with them personally from November 2017–June 2019.

They completed everything we asked them to do. They always try to provide us with a good solution.

I worked with them for a few hours every week. We communicated through Redmine. They would post messages, and we’d respond, I also talked to the project manager on the phone a few times. He was always on-call. If he didn’t pick up the phone, he responded right away.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Unlike other providers I’ve worked with, they always return my call.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Their price is competitive with the market, but it’s always nice if it was a bit cheaper.

The key to a successful project is getting the specifications right. Both parties will benefit from a well-written project.
