I'm a Digital Business Solution Analyst at British American Tobacco Ukraine company

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Sytecs, LLC, and what were your goals?

Tobacco products are a matter of track and trace in the supply chain by unique identifiers on carton and bundle labels. We are faced with the problem of collecting data about product movements in distributors' warehouses and transferring the data to your SAP. We chose the Sytecs company because the solution they proposed was built on cloud services and fully complied with our standards for IT security which were our main goals.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

The Sytecs company was selected as a result of a tender in which several leading companies participated. Because their solution best meets our requirements.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

Sytecs has developed a solution for us that is built on MS Azure cloud services. Development began with holding workshops with various BAT functions. The main directions of which were: development of a solution in the middle of our infrastructure, connection to the global SAP system, and connection of distributor scanning providers. Each of the directions went as a parallel process, and it was very convenient because quite a lot of BAT contacts were involved who were responsible for different streams inside the company and it is quite difficult to manage stakeholders in a global company. Sytecs did a great job with this.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

4 people participated, including one analyst/project manager and 3 developers.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Sytec's work was like a master class for us, as such responsible companies are quite rare. Their organization of work, management of key stakeholders, and the level of the solution they built deserve high praise.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

The main communication took place at meetings in Teams and it was quite convenient since there was a quarantine. The life cycle of the project took place in Azure DevOps.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

There were obstacles in the way of the project that depended on our internal processes. Sytecs, LLC adapted very easily and offered alternative solutions and approaches that were just a godsend.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

None.
