Brett from Synapses Creative was an absolute pleasure to work with! My team hired him to help us with a new product launch and he was able to help us film, produce, and edit a long form promotional video, short form videos for social media, and BTS videos for future use.

During the process, Brett was extremely professional, kind, and flexible. We met a few times prior to filming to discuss storyboard and concept, and he was extremely collaborative. During filming, he brought all of his own equipment and was very prepared. Post-filming, Brett got started right away on editing the videos and was extremely open to feedback. He delivered the final product in a short amount of time and even let us have access to behind the scenes footage which we'd continue to use for snappy, social media posts.

Overall, our team was extremely pleased with Brett, and we can't wait to work with him again.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We still use our VOXL 2 promotion video to this day. It has nearly 10,00 views on YouTube and we use it throughout our social media, on our website, and at tradeshows. Brett was also able to snip some shorter portions of the video for our social media so we were able to utilize one video many ways.

Will: NanoCellect develops affordable, compact microfluidic instruments and consumables that enable scientists to analyze and sort cells for applications in drug discovery, single-cell omics, cloning, antibody discovery, and basic research.

What challenge were you trying to address with Synapses Creative?

Will: We needed photography of our team and products, videos of our cell sorters in action, and promotional videos of new products.

What was the scope of work with Synapses Creative?

Will: Synapses Creative created promotional videos for customers, photography, and a video to facilitate the sale of the company. The deliverables included action shots, stills, short video clips, and longer videos.

How did you come to work with Synapses Creative?

Will: I met Brett through his role as a scientist running the flow cytometry core at SDSU. Brett and Vanessa had the artistic and technical skills for video production and photography, as well as the ability to help storyboard and write content as scientists.

Will: We spent around $40,000.

Will: We worked with Synapses Creative on about a dozen projects over the last 10 years.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Will: We launched all of our projects with Synapses Creative. We saw very high engagement rates on LinkedIn, with a 300% increase. Additionally, we had a 10x increase in LinkedIn followers and customer engagement and excitement.

Will: Synapses Creative delivered all projects on time and on budget. The team was highly responsive, emotionally intelligent, and able to guide us through the process. Brett and Vanessa were always available in person, via text, phone, and email.

What challenge were you trying to address with Synapses Creative?

I wanted to create a video where potential clients could better understand what I do and the type of photography I offer. My work is unusual for the San Diego market, so I needed to convey the message more efficiently.

I hired Synapses Creative to create a video for me that I could display on YouTube and my website. The video included BTS footage of a photoshoot interspersed with interviews.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The video was perfect; I had no notes. It was exactly what I envisioned, and Brett knew exactly how to achieve that. Although it has been a few years since we completed the project, I still get hired by clients specifically after they watch the video. It’s hard to estimate how many clients I’ve gained from the video, but it’s not an insignificant amount.

Synapses Creative was friendly and professional in their communication. We were kept abreast of the development, scheduling, and editing timeline of the project. We communicated via email and text messaging.
