I’m an associate professor at a research lab. My lab conducts neuroscience research.

What specific goals or objectives did you hire Stellate Communications to accomplish for your research in computational neuroscience?

We needed help with my lab’s website, logo, visual identity, custom research illustrations, and website copywriting.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Stellate Communications handled the full process of designing and developing our website, including content creation and development. Since launch, they have continued to provide maintenance service to keep the site up to date.

We’ve worked with 2–5 members of Stellate Communications’ team.

I found them through an online search. We chose them because they were a great culture fit and had specialized expertise in neuroscience research.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in May 2024, and the engagement is ongoing to conduct maintenance.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve received compliments from colleagues and have seen an increased interest from prospective trainees. We’ve also created a unified home for my publications. We now have more than 10,000 visitors per year, and we’ve seen a major increase in prospective trainees reaching out.

How did Stellate Communications perform from a project management standpoint?

Stellate Communications’ project management is wonderful. They keep me on track and delivered on time. We communicate via virtual meetings, emails, and messaging apps.

What did you find most impressive about them?

After years of working with the Stellate Communications team, I’ve been blown away by their attention to detail, scientific rigor, and obvious skill in visual and written science storytelling. Their communications and design teams have worked with me to turn that vision into a visually stunning website that feels completely true to my research vision, priorities, and personality. 
They work seamlessly with my trainees and me to turn data into beautiful, easy-to-understand figures for papers and grants, designed to be easy to edit and update as our research progresses.

I'm an associate professor at Boston University. My lab studies the neuroscience of learning and memory, as well as how to artificially manipulate memories to restore health to the brain.

What challenge were you trying to address with Stellate Communications?

We needed help building and maintaining our lab's website, organizing events, scheduling meetings with our colleagues, and engaging with social media in a broad, accessible manner.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Stellate Communications has designed, developed, and maintained our lab's website. The team has also helped us organize events like the Opto GRC and promoted our work on all our social media channels.

We've worked with 2–5 teammates from Stellate Communications.

I chose them over other options because they were a great culture fit, offered good value for the cost, and had company values that aligned with ours. Moreover, their customer service was exceptional, and they were very skilled and knew the ins and outs of academia. 
Working with Stellate has been a treat, and one that I hope to do for as long as possible! They make all aspects of academic life easier, and are truly wonderful to work with on any project.

We started working with Stellate Communications in January 2021, and our engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Stellate Communications' work has resulted in broad website and social media engagement, while conveying my lab's science and values to the public. Applicants for our lab almost always mention that they came through a social media announcement that Stellate Communications helped us with throughout. 
Moreover, almost everyone mentions that the lab's website is exceptional, welcoming, and engaging. We've received hundreds of applicants who mention the quality of the website as an entry point to the lab.
