Staylime

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO and founder of Darantasia, a company that distributes industrial tools through e-commerce. We use an e-commerce website called Technostok.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Staylime?

I needed a specific interface for our e-commerce website, which required us to customize a particular software.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Prior to our engagement, I provided Staylime with a dense business requirement description that described my needs as a user. Staylime had to read and understand this document before executing the code.

Staylime has used a panel of tools and technologies for my project, including Magento, PHP, and JavaScript. The software they’re creating allows users to manage our product’s attributes in a specific way. Since we manufacture industrial tools, we don’t only sell a finished product, but we need to adapt the tools according to the client’s needs. We need to adapt the product before selling it in a given quantity.

Staylime is currently working on the software’s prototype and expanding its features. We haven’t moved to the production phase since I’m looking for mandatory features in the product’s prototype. Most of Staylime’s service is the warranty of delivering our solution because there have been bugs and glitches that we needed to resolve.

What is the team composition?

I work with three teammates from Staylime, including web developers and an account manager.

How did you come to work with Staylime?

Staylime was recommended by one of my extension providers.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested around $2,500 with Staylime.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working together in September 2021, and our engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I’m satisfied with Staylime’s quality of work and the way they interact with me. Staylime’s team is sharp and understands my needs, which are pretty specific. Staylime is knowledgeable on the technical aspect, and when they finalize my product, it will allow my company to sell specific tools to our market.

How did Staylime perform from a project management standpoint?

Staylime meets and respects timelines. I’ve had to modify our original timeline due to some internal constraints, and Staylime has been very resilient in following these changes and deploying the module despite my inner limitations during the R&D phase of the project.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m most impressed with Staylime’s ability to understand my complex needs. I really appreciate their ability to quickly grasp my project’s requirements and convert them into a deployment plan. Staylime also has explained the details of the project’s scope and how they would approach it to ensure it aligned with my needs.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The only thing for Staylime to improve is their diligence when quoting and providing feedback about the project’s cost. When I request a new functionality, I always ask Staylime to quote the work so I can plan my budget in advance. Other than that, Staylime is doing an excellent job.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I recommend being extremely disciplined when you create a business requirement. Ensure that the solution’s description is exhaustive and that there is no room for interpretation. I also recommend ensuring everything is aligned with Staylime’s team before stepping into the development phase.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm a partner and founder of a manufacturer of consumer products sold in the US.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Staylime, and what were your goals?

Updating Magento, already and involved and sometimes difficult proposition, made harder by earlier developers that didn't follow best practices and modified core files. Staylime did it when other couldn't. They did it thoroughly and completely without other issues. Having professional help like this is a lifesaver.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We tried other developers and they all failed. We found Staylime through our using Mageworx for extensions. They were right there all the time!

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

Everyone knew this update to Magento was a bear. We setup a dev server and Staylime immediately realized core files had been tampered with. Once those were fixed the update went smoothly with only very minor issues that were promptly fixed.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We communicated with two people, account manager and tech support lead.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Our site is updated without issues, it runs faster and we feel we have a real partner going forward.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

Everything was done via email and while there is a big time zone difference the project went seamlessly.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They didn't bring any problems into the project, they solved all issues, no blame, they got the work done and done correctly.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I can't think of anything. Maybe they could introduce the entire team that would be working on our project but hardly necessary.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the founder of Sava. Sava is the leading e-commerce marketplace for premium cannabis products, standing up many of the top emerging and consistent brands in Northern CA and across the state, since 2015.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Staylime, and what were your goals?

We decided to migrate our site from a cannabis-specific ecom platform to Magento 2, in order to take advantage of the many functions and customizations that Magento offers. Because of the regulations surrounding cannabis, this is an extremely specific, customized project. We originally hired a different set of developers, who weren’t up to the complex demands of our project.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Staylime was recommended to us by an advisor, and we decided to go with them because of their depth of knowledge and experience with Magento.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

Because Staylime came onto our project after the migration had already taken place, the first step was to identify and document all the issues we were experiencing. The integrations that our previous developers had put in place needed significant review and revision, including developing an alternative to the Mageplaza module that had been installed to edit orders.

Staylime was able to replace this with a Mageworx module, which has drastically improved our customer service and decreased the amount of time spent on investigating issues. Because our orders are placed online and then delivered to customers, Staylime had to integrate the Mageworx module with OnFleet and Stronghold. They also integrated Berbix ID verification and Klaviyo. Staylime’s design team has revised our product pages to our specifications, both for desktop and mobile, and will soon do the same for our brand pages.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We have an Account Manager, Project Manager, Designer, Frontend developers, and Backend developers.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Our team is now able to use our website in the way that we intended to when we made the switch to Magento. There’s still more work to be done, but I have every confidence that Staylime will handle it effectively. Their Magento expertise has strengthened our business.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

We communicate with Staylime primarily through our Project Manager, via Slack and Asana. Communication is both friendly and clear—something of a rarity. Communication has been an issue we’ve had with other developers.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Staylime’s team is incredibly easy to work with. Our PM, Andrew, is a truly delightful colleague. Though, of course, there have been times when the project was frustrating, Andrew’s professionalism and courtesy never wavered. Because of the transparency of communication, we feel that we’re in good hands with Staylime, and we anticipate working with them for a long time to come!

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Since our team had zero experience with Magento before beginning this project, there were times when having more of a clear direction from Staylime as to the best path forward could have shortened parts of the overall timeline. However, their deference to us in prioritizing and implementing changes is very helpful as they are able to work within the constraints of our monthly hours allotted.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I’m the Owner of ePet — the Hong Kong pet shop that offers over 5,000 pet products to its customers.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Staylime, and what were your goals?

We hired Staylime for Magento 1 to Magento 2 migration services. Transferring our pet store to Magento 2 was the optimum solution to keep our retail business running smoothly. Following the successful migration to Magento 2, Staylime also provided us with ongoing maintenance and support services.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Our vendor of Magento extensions recommended Staylime to us as a trusted company. During 3 years of working together, Staylime made this point and proved to be a reliable service provider, able to manage and implement complex projects and carry out non-standard works.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

Staylime’s team took care of every aspect of Magento migration. First, they analyzed our Magento 1 store to define the scope of work and draft a migration plan. Next, they embarked on the database migration and replication of previous functionality and design on a new store. After launching a new Magento 2 store, Staylime kept an eye on Magento and third-party update releases. Since the Ultimo theme that we had on our store was no longer supported by its vendor and not ready for Magento 2.4, they helped us maintain the existing theme while we were looking for a ready-made replacement. I felt their willingness to help at each stage of the project. Our old store was slow and there was always something off as a consequence of having a web hosting which was inappropriate for Magento. To optimize performance, Staylime suggested moving our website to a Magento-specific hosting — MageMojo. After doing so, we forgot about performance issues and started to enjoy a fast-loading site.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We had an Account Manager, Project Manager, Frontend and Backend developers.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The Magento 1 to Magento 2 migration was a great success. Now we have a stable website that responds to the needs of our customers. What is important, Staylime helped us address performance issues. High website downtime on our Magento 1 store had an adverse effect on sales and conversion rates, but they fixed it.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

We mostly spoke via email. They had a reliable team of experts who were willing to help and respond to our questions at any time.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They had a lot of experience developing Magento stores and were able to quickly implement and execute changes on our web store on short notice.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Additional quicker forms of communication channels such as whatsapp or a direct line would be helpful in urgent situations. On rare occasions there have been major issues after an update which prevented normal business operations so a quicker response time would be helpful in reducing business downtime in those situations.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I’m the CEO & Co-Founder of a Suggestr, a Singapore-based eCommerce company. We offer an AI-powered product recommendation and personalization tool for Shopify store owners. Suggestr is backed by Y Combinator and Entrepreneur First.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Staylime?

Our current website doesn’t reflect the branding of a DTC-enablement SaaS. We would like our website to communicate with each customer. In eCommerce, it is important to be on the same page with the client.

Hence, we wanted to do a redesign to effectively present our product to the target audience. An increase in the conversion rate of our Shopify app would be the result of this rebranding. We engaged Staylime to help us with this.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

Some time ago, I bumped into the website of our friends – a dating startup called Zodier. I really liked their website, and found out that Staylime was the agency behind it. I got an introduction to Staylime since I wanted to get something of that kind.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

Staylime started with examining our requirements. After that, within a couple of weeks they created two design concepts. We approved the one we liked the most and received the design of the project.

At the moment we are planning the pivot of our product and discussing with Staylime some fine tuning of the solution, in particular, the logo design and guidebook. Our (pre-Staylime) logo now looks outdated and doesn’t correspond to the concept of the product.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We had an Account Manager, Project Manager, Art Director, and UI/UX designer.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We’re happy with the website design concept developed by Staylime — it looks fresh and modern. They have really strong expertise in UI/UX design.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We communicated mostly via email but all important meetings such as a briefing and design concept presentations were carried out via Google Meet. They were always very proactive: gathered info on our competitors, read my CTO's Telegram channel to dive deeper into the project.

They installed our app to know how it works so as to show through the design all the peculiarities of the product to the target audience. Staylime asked as many questions as possible to have a better understanding of our wishes. Despite the time zone differences, we’ve never encountered communication problems.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their design team was exceptionally talented. I was impressed by the design concepts and motion designs they made. Their work was on par (or even better) than design studios that charge many times higher. I'm giving this review because they really deserve it, and I'll surely be coming back to them for more work in the future.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Our project took slightly longer than the initial timelines. However, this is because my team failed to deliver the requested information (website copy, customer logos, etc.) on time. I wish they had told me earlier how the delays on our side would impact delivery times. So we could have gotten them the information they needed more urgently.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I’m the Technologies Manager at Strapworks — an American enterprise company that manufactures and sells the widest collection of straps. We also offer a great variety of webbing and hardware to individuals and companies.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Staylime, and what were your goals?

We hired Staylime for Magento 2 multistore development. With the primary goal of growing our target audience, we asked them to design three online stores (Strapworks, Honest Dog, and Killer Straps) to let Strapworks sell products to different clients. One of the stores was successfully launched in September 2021, and the other two will be live soon.

For the past 5 years, Staylime has provided us with ongoing maintenance and support services. Furthermore, they helped us enhance the Advanced Product Options Suite extension developed by Mageworx to tailor our business needs.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Since we use Adobe Commerce powered by Magento, we were looking for a trusted development partner with a wealth of experience with this technology. Mageworx, our vendor of Magento extensions, recommended Staylime to us. We considered several other agencies, but Staylime impressed us the most with their high level of service and open communication. Throughout the time, I found everyone in their team to be responsive and cooperative, which made me feel that the choice was right.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

The scope of the project was extensive. It all started with the customization of the Advanced Product Options Suite extension, which didn’t cover the needs of a store with large amounts of product data like ours. Without going into technical detail, I could say that Staylime suggested and implemented the solution to this problem, which other vendors failed to do.

They’ve also made several other vital customizations on our website that greatly facilitate our business operations. No wonder we addressed their team again. This time, for custom Magento theme design and development services. Staylime designed custom themes for multi websites and rewarded us with excellent results.

For many years, they have been providing us with ongoing maintenance and support, including the following: regular updates of the platform, themes, and extensions, fixing compatibility and other issues if they arise, consulting of our team on new technology (we used to work with Volusion before Magento), AWS EC2 instance configuration and 24/7 server support. Staylime has done much for performance optimization.

They conducted a performance audit to find and uninstall unused extensions, including core ones, and gave their recommendations on removing bottlenecks between a codebase and a database. This allowed us to optimize website performance, which is important if you have hundreds of thousands of users per month. We continue working with Staylime. After the website release, they helped us set up Magento BI for better data management and analytics.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We communicate directly with their PM, Account Manager, and CBDO. The development team also includes frontend and backend developers, a devops engineer, and designers.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

I’m satisfied with Staylime’s services in general and the designed website in particular. First, the website is fast: TTFB is 104 ms, which is rather impressive. Second, it’s secure due to the AWS EC2 server configured and maintained by Staylime’s team. Last but not least, it provides us with all the functionality, including multiple customizations, needed to operate an e-commerce business effectively.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

The communication with Staylime’s team was one of the best we’ve ever had. They were very helpful and supported us in difficult times: when COVID-19 started, they made the price more flexible. Despite the fact that Staylime’s development team is located in Eastern Europe, we didn’t have any communication problems. Instead, different time zones gave us additional benefits: the team was working with the production site at low-traffic time periods and provided us with 24/7 support.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Staylime’s people. We have worked with several team members over the course of years, and each has impressed us in their own way. They have all done a top-tier job fulfilling all our requests and providing innovative solutions.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

It may be that our project was particularly complex, but at times there was a disconnect in understanding what we wanted, and how. The only thing I can think of would be the discovery phase of any request, or major part of the projects, but even there I think Staylime did an admirable job.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I’m the CEO and Managing Partner of a global crypto marketing consultancy with offices in the UK, Estonia, Russia, and Belarus. Our company was founded in 2011 and has successfully implemented over 70 blockchain projects.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Staylime?

We turned to Staylime for web design services. They developed our first corporate website, which existed for several years. After a while, we changed our market positioning to a crypto consultancy and, in this regard, needed to update our brand and site. Staylime’s team helped us with this. The goal was to develop a top-notch website that would reflect our business positioning and appeal to our target market, and they have accomplished this objective.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

The choice was made upon the recommendation from our business partner who worked with Staylime in the past. We had a face-to-face meeting with Staylime during which their team impressed us with their expertise and gained our trust. Therefore, we selected them without hesitation.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

After requirement gathering and analysis, they provided us with the design concept in the video format. It was a motion design with 3D graphics and other progressive features, which we liked and approved immediately. Next, they provided the project framework and started desktop and mobile UI design. After the design stage was complete, they conducted QA to ensure everything was perfect. As the end result, we have got a state-of-the-art website that fully met our requirements.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Project Manager, Art Director, Lead UI/UX Designer, and Graphic Designer.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

With the website designed by Staylime, we have increased our online presence considerably. The new website fully aligns with our business vision and has positive reactions from our clients, which cannot but rejoice.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We have been communicating with their team via messaging. They provided me with the statement of work every week and also presented the major milestones to be always in touch with the situation.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I was impressed with their clear understanding of the problem and the ability to solve it, as well as their willingness to think outside the box. We just told them what we wanted to have without going deep into technical details and Staylime’s team provided us with the desired results.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

At an early stage, I wanted to have more feedback from their side. But after I expressed concerns to Staylime, the problem was quickly addressed.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I’m the CEO of a startup business. We simplify dating by offering a tool allowing people to get acquainted via popular messengers and chatbots.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Staylime?

Our company used to have an outdated Tilda-based landing page that we have quickly outgrown. Therefore, we addressed Staylime to develop brand identity design and create a corporate website that would reflect our business vision. The key goal was to create a modern design that would appeal to our target audience — generation Z.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We conducted market research and identified several potential candidates by calling them up. Staylime’s team impressed us with their individual approach to each case and high level of professionalism. Therefore, we opted for their design services.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

Staylime provided us with complex services, including brand identity development and UI/UX design. First, we asked them to create a new logo design and a new landing page for our company. We admired the design concept developed by Staylime’s team, approved it, and soon launched our one-page website. It has successfully existed for more than a year. As time went on, our investments grew, and we decided to create a new website. Having good impressions of working together with Staylime, we addressed their team again.

The goal was to create a modern and vibrant design with extremely bright colors. In accordance with our wishes, they designed and developed our new website — bright, vivid, and with animated GIFs. They also developed our brand identity design, including a logo, a corporate presentation, banners, and social media design concept.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Our main point of contact was a PM. The team also comprised of an Art Director, Lead Designer, Graphic Designer, and Copywriter.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The website designed by Staylime helped considerably in attracting new customers and investors. I would say, it helped to generate a new “face” of ours. One of the major achievements was the fact that Product Hunt featured our brand as the #1 Product of the Day, of the Week, and of the Month.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We communicated every week, mainly via online conference calls and chat messages. I have to admit that our teams have been working closely together, which was one of the key reasons for the project’s success.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I was impressed by the Staylime team’s creativity and deep involvement in each task. They take a responsible approach to every project and always listen to and feel a client in order to achieve the best results.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

No, I don’t think so.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I’m the CEO of a Swiss-based LED Company. We offer a vast collection of energy-efficient LEDs to B2C and B2B clients. We also sell them online trough our LED Store. With the help of our project managers, we are able to handle small and large lighting projects quickly and professionally.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Staylime, and what were your goals?

Initially, we hired Staylime to migrate our Magento 1 store to Magento 2. Being pleased with their migration services, we entrusted them with website maintenance and support.

For the last three years, Staylime’s team has been helping our organization with different tasks such as compatibility issue fixes, Magento performance analyses, and custom extension development.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We were seeking experts who have the know-how in Magento. One of our partners recommended Staylime as a highly-reliable Magento vendor with a proven track record. So, we hired them and never regretted it.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

The first important task was Magento 1 website migration to Magento 2. Staylime’s team helped us with database migration and the installation and configuration of a number of Magento 2 extensions.

The shift to Magento 2 was smooth and fast, and, therefore, we addressed their team again. Second, Staylime created a custom extension for us to stay compliant with the EU regulations for energy labeling.

With this extension, one can display the energy label of LED products below the price field.

This allowed us to stay legally compliant and ahead of the competition. Third, they provided us with a Magento performance audit. Staylime’s specialists analyzed the theme and extensions and gave practical recommendations on how to enhance our website performance.

They further help us to implement several of those recommendations.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

I communicated directly with their account manager and a project manager.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Thanks to Staylime’s team, we migrated to Magento 2 on time, thus avoiding risks associated with the Magento 1 end of life. Also, they helped us improve the website performance by conducting thorough analyses and providing actionable recommendations for store speed optimization.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I know their team to be trustworthy and capable. What impressed me most was their active engagement in the project.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I wish the cost of their service were lower.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

Fiberglass and artificial grass topiary. I’m the CEO of a creative topiary store based in Miami, Florida.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Staylime, and what were your goals?

We addressed Staylime to develop a Shopify-based online store that will let us manage and grow our ecommerce business. The goal was to create a clean, modern design with a minimalistic layout that would reflect the nature of the products that we sell.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We were looking for an American vendor with a proven track record of successful projects. Also, the decisive factors were the vendor’s competence in E-commerce web development and a high level of professionalism. Staylime fully met these requirements and, therefore, was entrusted with the Green Animals store development.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

Staylime’s team first analyzed our requirements and proposed their vision of what the Shopify store would look like. After the concept was agreed upon, they moved to website development which took about a month.

The special task was to create a custom “Get a quote” button enabling our customers to request the price of any topiary by clicking on it. All requests should be later sent to an instant messenger to be able to respond to them proactively.

Staylime’s team did a great job with this task and the project as a whole, proving their professionalism.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We worked directly with their UI/UX designers and a PM.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We’re delighted with the results. The e-store developed by Staylime is fast and user-friendly, with a minimalistic design yet all the required functionality — just like we wanted. The timeframe is also worth noting: they managed to develop a fully functioning Shopify website in a month. We appreciate this.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

We communicated mainly by email. Their team was exactly on time, so there weren’t any project delays.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Staylime’s willingness to tailor their approach to our needs was impressive. The team has shown dedication and hard work over the month of joint work and made favorable impressions.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

No, everything was great.
