Everyone knew this update to Magento was a bear. We setup a dev server and Staylime immediately realized core files had been tampered with. Once those were fixed the update went smoothly with only very minor issues that were promptly fixed.

They didn't bring any problems into the project, they solved all issues, no blame, they got the work done and done correctly.

I can't think of anything. Maybe they could introduce the entire team that would be working on our project but hardly necessary.

We decided to migrate our site from a cannabis-specific ecom platform to Magento 2, in order to take advantage of the many functions and customizations that Magento offers. Because of the regulations surrounding cannabis, this is an extremely specific, customized project. We originally hired a different set of developers, who weren’t up to the complex demands of our project.

Staylime was recommended to us by an advisor, and we decided to go with them because of their depth of knowledge and experience with Magento.

Because Staylime came onto our project after the migration had already taken place, the first step was to identify and document all the issues we were experiencing. The integrations that our previous developers had put in place needed significant review and revision, including developing an alternative to the Mageplaza module that had been installed to edit orders.

Staylime was able to replace this with a Mageworx module, which has drastically improved our customer service and decreased the amount of time spent on investigating issues. Because our orders are placed online and then delivered to customers, Staylime had to integrate the Mageworx module with OnFleet and Stronghold. They also integrated Berbix ID verification and Klaviyo. Staylime’s design team has revised our product pages to our specifications, both for desktop and mobile, and will soon do the same for our brand pages.

Our team is now able to use our website in the way that we intended to when we made the switch to Magento. There’s still more work to be done, but I have every confidence that Staylime will handle it effectively. Their Magento expertise has strengthened our business.

We communicate with Staylime primarily through our Project Manager, via Slack and Asana. Communication is both friendly and clear—something of a rarity. Communication has been an issue we’ve had with other developers.

Staylime’s team is incredibly easy to work with. Our PM, Andrew, is a truly delightful colleague. Though, of course, there have been times when the project was frustrating, Andrew’s professionalism and courtesy never wavered. Because of the transparency of communication, we feel that we’re in good hands with Staylime, and we anticipate working with them for a long time to come!

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Since our team had zero experience with Magento before beginning this project, there were times when having more of a clear direction from Staylime as to the best path forward could have shortened parts of the overall timeline. However, their deference to us in prioritizing and implementing changes is very helpful as they are able to work within the constraints of our monthly hours allotted.

Staylime’s team took care of every aspect of Magento migration. First, they analyzed our Magento 1 store to define the scope of work and draft a migration plan. Next, they embarked on the database migration and replication of previous functionality and design on a new store. After launching a new Magento 2 store, Staylime kept an eye on Magento and third-party update releases. Since the Ultimo theme that we had on our store was no longer supported by its vendor and not ready for Magento 2.4, they helped us maintain the existing theme while we were looking for a ready-made replacement. I felt their willingness to help at each stage of the project. Our old store was slow and there was always something off as a consequence of having a web hosting which was inappropriate for Magento. To optimize performance, Staylime suggested moving our website to a Magento-specific hosting — MageMojo. After doing so, we forgot about performance issues and started to enjoy a fast-loading site.

The Magento 1 to Magento 2 migration was a great success. Now we have a stable website that responds to the needs of our customers. What is important, Staylime helped us address performance issues. High website downtime on our Magento 1 store had an adverse effect on sales and conversion rates, but they fixed it.

We mostly spoke via email. They had a reliable team of experts who were willing to help and respond to our questions at any time.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They had a lot of experience developing Magento stores and were able to quickly implement and execute changes on our web store on short notice.

Additional quicker forms of communication channels such as whatsapp or a direct line would be helpful in urgent situations. On rare occasions there have been major issues after an update which prevented normal business operations so a quicker response time would be helpful in reducing business downtime in those situations.

Our current website doesn’t reflect the branding of a DTC-enablement SaaS. We would like our website to communicate with each customer. In eCommerce, it is important to be on the same page with the client.

Hence, we wanted to do a redesign to effectively present our product to the target audience. An increase in the conversion rate of our Shopify app would be the result of this rebranding. We engaged Staylime to help us with this.

Some time ago, I bumped into the website of our friends – a dating startup called Zodier. I really liked their website, and found out that Staylime was the agency behind it. I got an introduction to Staylime since I wanted to get something of that kind.

Staylime started with examining our requirements. After that, within a couple of weeks they created two design concepts. We approved the one we liked the most and received the design of the project.

At the moment we are planning the pivot of our product and discussing with Staylime some fine tuning of the solution, in particular, the logo design and guidebook. Our (pre-Staylime) logo now looks outdated and doesn’t correspond to the concept of the product.

We’re happy with the website design concept developed by Staylime — it looks fresh and modern. They have really strong expertise in UI/UX design.

We communicated mostly via email but all important meetings such as a briefing and design concept presentations were carried out via Google Meet. They were always very proactive: gathered info on our competitors, read my CTO's Telegram channel to dive deeper into the project.

They installed our app to know how it works so as to show through the design all the peculiarities of the product to the target audience. Staylime asked as many questions as possible to have a better understanding of our wishes. Despite the time zone differences, we’ve never encountered communication problems.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their design team was exceptionally talented. I was impressed by the design concepts and motion designs they made. Their work was on par (or even better) than design studios that charge many times higher. I'm giving this review because they really deserve it, and I'll surely be coming back to them for more work in the future.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Our project took slightly longer than the initial timelines. However, this is because my team failed to deliver the requested information (website copy, customer logos, etc.) on time. I wish they had told me earlier how the delays on our side would impact delivery times. So we could have gotten them the information they needed more urgently.

Throughout the time, I found everyone in their team to be responsive and cooperative, which made me feel that the choice was right.

The scope of the project was extensive. It all started with the customization of the Advanced Product Options Suite extension, which didn’t cover the needs of a store with large amounts of product data like ours. Without going into technical detail, I could say that Staylime suggested and implemented the solution to this problem, which other vendors failed to do.

They’ve also made several other vital customizations on our website that greatly facilitate our business operations. No wonder we addressed their team again. This time, for custom Magento theme design and development services. Staylime designed custom themes for multi websites and rewarded us with excellent results.

For many years, they have been providing us with ongoing maintenance and support, including the following: regular updates of the platform, themes, and extensions, fixing compatibility and other issues if they arise, consulting of our team on new technology (we used to work with Volusion before Magento), AWS EC2 instance configuration and 24/7 server support. Staylime has done much for performance optimization.

They conducted a performance audit to find and uninstall unused extensions, including core ones, and gave their recommendations on removing bottlenecks between a codebase and a database. This allowed us to optimize website performance, which is important if you have hundreds of thousands of users per month. We continue working with Staylime. After the website release, they helped us set up Magento BI for better data management and analytics.

I’m satisfied with Staylime’s services in general and the designed website in particular. First, the website is fast: TTFB is 104 ms, which is rather impressive. Second, it’s secure due to the AWS EC2 server configured and maintained by Staylime’s team. Last but not least, it provides us with all the functionality, including multiple customizations, needed to operate an e-commerce business effectively.

The communication with Staylime’s team was one of the best we’ve ever had. They were very helpful and supported us in difficult times: when COVID-19 started, they made the price more flexible. Despite the fact that Staylime’s development team is located in Eastern Europe, we didn’t have any communication problems. Instead, different time zones gave us additional benefits: the team was working with the production site at low-traffic time periods and provided us with 24/7 support.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Staylime’s people. We have worked with several team members over the course of years, and each has impressed us in their own way. They have all done a top-tier job fulfilling all our requests and providing innovative solutions.

It may be that our project was particularly complex, but at times there was a disconnect in understanding what we wanted, and how. The only thing I can think of would be the discovery phase of any request, or major part of the projects, but even there I think Staylime did an admirable job.

Staylime’s team first analyzed our requirements and proposed their vision of what the Shopify store would look like. After the concept was agreed upon, they moved to website development which took about a month.

The special task was to create a custom “Get a quote” button enabling our customers to request the price of any topiary by clicking on it. All requests should be later sent to an instant messenger to be able to respond to them proactively.

We have been working with Staylime on a continuous basis for almost 2 years. We originally started our Partnership with one project to help us build complex, product configurators that would allow our site visitors to customize their product selection in real-time with images, colors, functions, etc. that all changed dependencies based on customer selection.

It was a really big undertaking in Magento 2 but the Staylime team did such a tremendous job that we continued to work with them on additional projects. The inaugural project included setting up customizable options within each product, adding multiple layers of costs/prices, swappable images based on dependency selections, and development within Magento to handle tens of thousands of product variations.

In addition to building our custom configurators, they enhanced the speed and functionality of this massive undertaking. Continued projects over the years have been updating UX/UI for better shopping experience, improving branded themes, rolling out add-ons and extensions to make back-end operations more suitable for us, bulk pricing/costing tools to allow for customizable options to be updated by formulas or percentages across individual or groups of products, server migration from Amazon AWS to MageMojo, Order Confirmation and Shipping Notification Emails, Order Status Updates, SSH Permissions, general troubleshooting, and constant aid in Magento 2 that our team is not able to fulfill. Their work has been plentiful and they always go above and beyond.

Overall site speed has doubled since our continuous work with Staylime. Sales, Customer Happiness, and Ease of Site Use have all increased. Errors, Page Timeouts, and Backend Issues have all decreased.

Originally we worked mostly through email which was a bit challenging due to the complexity of some of our projects. As a result, we moved to Trello Boards and have occasional video chats to walk through any complex projects to ensure we are all on the same page. Communication has improved considerably since implementing Trello (and communication was even good before).

Trello Boards have been absolutely amazing for us to consolidate information by project, have rapid communication, schedule project timelines, and prioritize projects based on how many hours they will take to complete. They are very quick at responding and always have great feedback or suggestions when we come to them with project requests.

Trello also allows us to always have an understanding of upcoming projects that need to be worked on so Staylime can provide feedback and help diagnose issues all while completing other projects for our team.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The most impressive trait about Staylime is that there has yet to be a project they cannot complete! Everything we request of them has been completed and with amazing execution. Their team goes the extra mile to provide amazing customer service, timely project completions, and expertise in Ecommerce Development!

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The Staylime team has been great and there is nothing I would recommend for improvement.
