I’m the owner of a distillery.

We wanted to make our social media and marketing presence more uniform.

What was the scope of their involvement?

SMM is primarily supporting our social media campaigns. They also do some merchandise procurement for us, such as t-shirts, hats, and similar things. They’ve also assisted us with the design and development of the labels we use on our products. 

In addition, SMM has prepared and submitted our marketing plan to a local government agency that provides grant funding.

I work with their principal and a partner. 

How did you come to work with SSMCommunications?

I was familiar with SMM both personally and professionally through contacts in the alcohol industry. I liked what they were doing, so it made sense for me to hire them.

We’ve spent around $18,000–$19,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in April 2020, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

SSM’s designs have come out really clean and very attractive — it’s an upgrade from what we had. Their labels also got government approval. Our social media has been a lot more consistent, and we’ve seen increased engagement since working with SSM.  

How did SSMCommunications perform from a project management standpoint?

I’ve never had an issue with SSM’s project management. We communicate through emails, telephone calls, and text messaging. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

SSM’s personal attention to detail and service is impressive. We also appreciate their competitive rates. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything.

Be clear on what your needs are and have a well-defined understanding of your brand.

We had an issue with messaging to outside prospects and clients. We needed help with our creative side, too.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We already had a site created and SSMCommunications enhanced it. On top of that, they provided outreach marketing services — they reached out to prospects, outside organizations, and clients. 

They also implement SEO efforts on our site, and they create content that we post on our social media platforms, mainly on Facebook and LinkedIn. We’re still expanding our relationship since we've only been doing business with them for about a year.

We mainly communicate with their two co-owners.

I knew one of their co-owners from a prior business.

We pay them $2,500 a month.

We began working with them in October 2020, and we continue to collaborate.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

From 100% spam coming in through our SEO, SSMCommunications has managed to reduce the spam we receive to 6%–7% in the last eight months. Overall, we've seen a huge increase in our business because of their work.

How did SSMCommunications perform from a project management standpoint?

SSMCommunications keeps us up to date with our month-to-month goals and objectives, and they always deliver. We communicate over phone calls and Zoom. Since they’re a local company, we communicate regularly in person, too.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They do what they say they’ll do, and they understand what we do.

No, I’m very happy with SSMCommunications’ work.

Be open and honest with the objectives you want to achieve. Meet with their team, go over the project's strategy, and they’ll deliver on it.

I highly recommend them as they go above and beyond the scope of work. With the additions created to our website, we definitely have seen more traffic and our google ads are continuously monitored so that i do not have to worry about it

I used to work together with Josh on another project, and he referred SSMCommunications for me. I chose them because I was always impressed with their work.

We started working together in January 2020, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve been able to see more traffic to our website. In addition to that, our customers’ feedback on our newsletters and content has been great.

How did SSMCommunications perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re fantastic; they always keep me in line with the process, which is the most important thing for me. In terms of communication, we use email and monthly video conference calls.

What did you find most impressive about them? 

They provide full-house service by doing both the technical and creative sides of the project.

I don’t think there’s anything they can improve on.

It’s a two-way process; communicate with them and give them feedback so they can make changes when they’re needed.
