We engaged Sprocket Digital to develop and manage paid digital advertising campaigns across Google and Meta platforms to generate qualified leads for:

Personal Insurance products (Life, Trauma, Income Protection, Health)
KiwiSaver advisory services

This is a targeted, smaller-scale lead generation project designed to produce a consistent and financially sustainable flow of high-quality enquiries. The project would utilise existing and future content created by Elan Brokers using that for the campaigns.

Insurance: 3–6 qualified new leads per week (minimum viable volume)
KiwiSaver: 10+ qualified leads per week (scalable volume focus)

Communication and ability for team members to translate high-level marketing concepts into easy-to-understand concepts for any business owner to understand and appreciate. The results then built my confidence to continue using Sprocket Digital for all my paid online marketing needs.

I’m the account and marketing manager of a drainage business, specializing in drain unblocking, CCTV, and vacuum loading.

To increase the number of jobs coming to us and to build our brand organically.

Prior to Sprocket, we worked with several companies that were really bad. I shopped around and based on performance and budget, we chose them.

Initially, we met with Luke (Founder & Managing Director, Sprocket Digital Limited), and then we dealt with Dan (Senior Growth Advisor, Sprocket Digital Limited).

We’ve been working with them for quite some time and have achieved some great results.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow is good—we have regular catch up meetings and I can contact Dan anytime and get a response the same day. He’s fantastic to deal with.

The communication and their honesty, as well as the results we get.

We would like to see things growing a bit more but that comes down to our budget too.

My husband and I are co-owners of Comfy Kiwi Homes. We supply and install residential properties with air conditioning during the summer and heat pumps during the winter.

What challenge were you trying to address with Sprocket?

Until last year, we used another provider for our website, Google AdWords, and SEO. We’d been with this company for several years, but they weren’t proactive. We had to monitor our ads every day. When we Googled ourselves, we didn’t rank well.

New Zealand is cold in the winters, and this is our busiest time of year in our industry. Heat pumps are a growing product in the NZ market. Despite a very cold winter, we weren't busy last winter, especially considering the amount of money we were spending with our previous web company, so our web company decided to refresh our website. our previous provider rebuilt the site, but failed to mention that we would lose all our organic rankings, and as a result we saw very few inquires during that winter, considering how much money we were paying, so we decided to look for a company that would work harder for us. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Sprocket works on our AdWords account, our SEO, and our website content. They’ve also implemented ad tags and written blog posts. They come up with the topics and send them to us for approval, and write all the seasonal material. They’re proactive about identifying upcoming trends. We have requested specific copy for ads and other items, but only on a few occasions, as Sprocket are always ahead of the game in suggesting ideas to us. 

The biggest challenge was the fact that we came to them with a subpar online footprint. They worked hard to get us to where we needed to be, and they did so during a time when our Google traffic typically decreases. The timing was a challenge for them.

What is the team composition?

Their digital marketing consultant is our main contact, but we also have contact with the company founder and director. 

How did you come to work with Sprocket?

We wanted a Google Premier Partners, and when I did a google search, their name appeared. Our previous web company was based in the Auckland CBD, and visiting them for review meetings was a nightmare, so we wanted to find an agency based outside of the CBD. Sprocket fit our requirements.

We contacted Sprocket and were impressed with their team and approach to us. At a meeting with the digital marketing consultant, the digital performance director and the founder/director, we described our situation and told them how much we were spending on Google Adwords and SEO. We decided to switch over to them. 

How much have you invested with them?

We have a monthly invoice, but I’m not sure about the exact figure.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with Sprocket in October 2017. The collaboration is ongoing, and we’re extremely happy with them.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our business has grown because of Sprocket’s work on our campaign. We had to employ staff to keep up with the inquiries coming in from our AdWords campaigns and SEO. We’re extremely happy that we made the change! When Sprocket picked us up at a quiet tie for our business, they asked us to give them six months to turn things around, but deliver results within two months. 

They’re constantly looking for new AdWords and SEO strategies. We don’t understand a lot of it, but their work has been fantastic. I could not recommend them highly enough!

How did Sprocket perform from a project management standpoint?

We leave them to do what they need to do. They suggested one campaign that didn’t work, but were quick to try different approaches. Other than that, it’s been great. We never need to ring them and ask what’s going on. We don’t meet with them regularly, since they’re doing a great job.

What did you find most impressive about them?

It’s their honesty. We had to hound the last company for explanations about why we weren’t ranking well. We were constantly throwing money at them and seeing no results. Our collaboration with Sprocket has never been driven by money. They’ve tweaked our previous budget and used it in different ways.

They never promised positive results just to secure our business. Instead, they told us when a strategy will take six months to yield results. They always deliver, and we’re happy we made the change. We’re hugely impressed by Sprocket, and we plan to work with them for the long-term future.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would be great if they expanded their offerings to include website hosting and development. We use different parties for these tasks, but it would be helpful to have a single contact.
