We wanted to revamp the UX and UI flows of our application.

Sixzero Design led user research for our application and developed the UX flows and UI design. The team conducted a discovery phase and a robust user research phase. They then developed the UX flows and created high-fidelity mock-ups using Figma.

What is the team composition?

We worked with Nick and Adam. Nick was the leader, and Adam assisted with UI design.

How did you come to work with Sixzero Design?

We found them through Google. We chose them based on our meeting with Nick and his background and experience.

We worked together from November 2024–January 2025.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The designs are currently in development, so we can’t point to tangible results. However, Sixzero Design’s work definitely met our expectations.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the COO of Kinzoo. We create mobile products for kids. Right now, we have three products: Kinzoo Messenger, a messenger for kids; Kinzoo Adventures, where kids can create stories and videos; and Kinzoo Together, where kids can play games and read books on video calls.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Sixzero Design?

We had the opportunity to implement a new business model for the messenger product, so we wanted to explore the possibilities. Since it’s a business model for kids, there are too many regulations. For example, kids can’t make purchases alone; they need their parents’ approval. The challenge was creating a flow that could be intuitive and telling the parents how they could have that experience and provide more features to the kids.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The scope of the project was pretty extensive. Sixzero had to create the business flow for kids and adults from beginning to end. They were responsible for everything from the investigation and user interview feedback to the whole updated design. We worked with the team for the entire process.

Sixzero did everything on Figma, and we used Notion for additional documentation, such as notes, workflows, and requirements. Additionally, they made suggestions for the colors, illustrations, iconography, and flow. We initially had the user personas ready.

What is the team composition?

We worked with Nick (Founder) and two designers under him.

How did you come to work with Sixzero Design?

We worked previously with Nick on the second version of Kinzoo; he was one of the designers. This year with the new project for Kinzoo we saw the opportunity to work with Nick again and that they could add lots of insights to the challenge.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $70,000 CAD (approximately $51,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from February–July 2022.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re currently implementing the designs. One of them was to make the store more visible because it was hidden in the app. We decided to fix that, so we brought it up to the home screen where users could see it all the time. From the moment we released it, we had a 200% increase in the store and following for our channels.

Moreover, Sixzero asked for the users’ feedback and worked on it right away, so everything they delivered was on point. They were also great in their response time. All in all, working with them was great.

How did Sixzero Design perform from a project management standpoint?

They were transparent with their workflow. Sixzero used a management system similar to Jira boards so we could see what they were working on and what they’d do next. We communicated through Slack and virtual meetings on Zoom.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their customer service was outstanding. They were transparent and great at communicating. Overall, the quality of their work was impeccable, and they were always on top of the requirements.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, nothing comes to my mind. They did a great job.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

The most important thing is having the requirements ready. You should know what you want to implement instead of coming up with random ideas and expecting them to come up with the results for you. If you give the context and precise requirements to Sixzero, then they’ll do a fantastic job.
