What were your goals for this project?

During the year of work, we had several goals. Design prototype of new product features and pitch deck for a new investment round, marketing materials, design support of the development team.

It was a reference from our development vendor. After the first sprint, we decided to move forward with sine.soul team.

Describe the project in detail.

We started with a product design prototype, and pitch deck for a new investment round at the end of 2018.

They have helped us to define main user personas, (e.g. sports organization media producer, broadcaster, influencer, team owner, fan). Also, they created a service blueprint that showed us how all roles are interacting.

A decision was made to start from a Broadcasting application prototype as it is the most important tool for our clients. At the end of this sprint, delivery included a clickable prototype and a visual design of a pitch deck. After a successful investment round, we have proceeded with further product development.

Our next goal was to create an engaging way for fans to view content on their favorite team’s OTT platform. After a few design workshops onsite we have come up with a Viewer Widget concept. At the end of this stage, we received clickable prototype and design documentation for development.

The next stage was to refine the Web Application for producers to manage production teams and content. The main challenge was to synchronize the design and dev teams to lunch in the shortest possible time. They have provided us with a design system, style guides and design documentation for development.

Currently, we are getting ready for a new investment round and implementation of new product features.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We have successfully launched the product to our first clients. High fidelity prototypes created by the design team are detailed enough to present them on client meetings. Design processes are crafted for collaboration with the development team.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

They were in the lead of the design process from first sketches to final implementation, supporting us on every stage.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their holistic thinking and laser-focus are great. They're a result-oriented team that's capable of making critical decisions on their own.

What were your goals for this project?

The project aimed to define marketing strategy, create a vivid company identity. In the shortest period of time launch our brand, new company internet presence and start generating new business contacts.

We started with a design sprint from Google Ventures following the process exactly. Sine Soul Department’s art director was in the role of facilitator. After the fifth day, we knew exactly what to do next. Having all the information and strategy at our hand we started designing basic company attributes. Pavlo Doro (Sine Soul Department art director) included in the work a graphic designer, web designer, and illustrator. The landing page was created within days in Readymag.

I hope Sine Soul Department will grow soon adds more great designers to the team. We wanted to proceed with them on our corporate website a few months later, but they turned out busy with new upcoming projects.

UX/UI for a new service feature.

What were your goals for this project?

The goal was to add a new feature that advises, reminds, and updates real estate agents with smart targeted content about their clients, leads and contacts database. This is an algorithm picked content combined with handpicked content.

We wanted the feature to be added with the smallest possible redesigning of an existing product.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We had a successful experience working with their founder on one of our previous projects, so we didn’t even consider looking for another partner.

Describe the project in detail.

We had a vision for this new feature but we didn’t know what is the best way to implement this. They have conducted research to find the best way to implement a new feature with minimal app redesign.

After a workshop, they have listed out all available options with the pros and cons described. The document has included several wireframes and informational architecture. After the decision was made they had created all UI assets aligned with our service.

This approach allowed us to deliver the feature to our customers faster. Everything was done very quickly. Research and UI were packed and ready for development.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Outstanding. The solution is easy to implement and has everything we need in it. At the end of the sprint, they have delivered clear documentation with a prototype to support development.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Regardless of the fact that they are not native English speakers, there were no communication issues. Excellent. From initial conversations, they listened to our needs, understood our business, asked excellent questions, provided a framework for solving our problems. Then they delivered to time, quality and budget.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They really thought it through and designed it to the smallest detail. The team takes a 'Socratic' approach to UI/UX that is game-changing. Through a series of questions, they quickly pinpointed our needs and with their UI/UX expertise delivered results quickly and professionally.

What were your goals for this project?

Our company growth and visual identity that we had at that point weren’t mature enough for us. We required a new brand image that would communicate our reliability. We have agencies (clients) and mystery shoppers to communicate with. We had to separate it somehow because shoppers left requests on the agency’s page. These requests flooded our business developer’s inbox.

It was a recommendation from a friend. Their portfolio was convincing, price and timeline suited us.

We had a clear idea of who our target audience was, so Sine Soul Department went through a discovery process with us and did the customer research. The visual concept that they have presented after was exactly what we needed. It has communicated our vision, had a strong association with the company name and the right look and feel to company image. They have managed to create a visual difference for different target audiences preserving consistency.

Mostly, we have communicated with the art director who led the creative process. He involved graphic designers and an illustrator as needed.

Mystery shoppers have stopped sending requests to our business developer’s inbox and started to use the shopper’s area. A logo that they have created for us is easy to remember, brand image is consistent throughout the sources of use.

It was simple and efficient. We had daily meetings during the first stage. This allowed us to be on the same page all the time.

When we started working with the Sine Soul Department, it seemed like they already knew us and the solutions provided always hit the target.

Company is doing systems and equipment for wind turbines. My position is SCADA manager and I'm responsible for developing Mita-Teknik's SCADA system (surveillance, control and data aquisition).

What were your goals for this project?

We were developing a Condition Monitoring System feature as an addition to our SCADA system. The goal of this function is to make the lives of maintenance engineers easier. A goal for the Sine design team was to fit it in as it affects several existing tools and to make it user-friendly.

How did you select this vendor?

We work with Sine Engineering Bureau for several years and their Soul Department’s designers are well trained to work with hardware and software development teams.

They have experience in designing complex systems and a solid understanding of an engineering side. They have designed our SCADA system from scratch in 2018.

Describe the project in detail.

They have easily fit in the design process to our dev road map. We already had an established design process with them that worked perfectly. Early-stage discussions helped us to understand maintenance engineers’ gains and pains. We had a bunch of workshops with our sales and lead engineers to improve user experience.

Overall, it was an iterative process with great design support. For a time of development, they become part of our product team. We have successfully finalized the design of this feature and tested it out.

Maintenance engineers currently have a lot better tools to help them get there jobs done. The development team is fully equipped with systemized UI elements that allow us to scale with ease.

We live in the same city so it was really easy to arrange meetings or workshops. The design process is established a long time ago and it is almost frictionless.

They have a solid understanding of the development process and how to work with complex systems.

How did you select this vendor?

We work with Sine Brain Department for years. They have developed all our devices’ electronics, firmware, and software.

When we started working on a smart home solution it was an obvious decision to work with Sine Soul Department to design our brand new mobile app and the website. Basically now they are our full-stack RnD department where engineers and designers work simultaneously with our marketing and manufacturing.

Describe the project in detail.

Since it is a new product and a new approach for our company we have started from scratch.

When we decided to expand the product line with smart devices we’d discovered that we would need to be different in our communication and visual identity and most importantly we had to bring new experiences to people’s homes. Otherwise, we would become another smart device app.

Sine Soul Department helped us to define and solve the most critical homeowner’s experience issues, define MVP and plan ahead for scaling of the solution. Our solution includes ventilation, heating, lighting and air conditioning systems. So the interface was designed with consideration of the future scaling as we have planned to launch system by system.

This smart home infrastructure required an approach of easy access and intuitive control over all the systems. Their widget-like solution with the most important controls brought up to the room screen was brilliant.

After the first user testing, we’d got a great feedback. At this stage, we are launching the first version of the mobile application.

Smart Home is a feeling of comfort and safety. They helped us to create a product that gives this feeling and makes a difference for homeowners.

They were always in sync with all the teams. The agile design approach lets us move forward effectively and simultaneously with all teams. This helped us to follow the project roadmap.

Designers at Sine Soul Department are well trained to work with engineers, and this is definitely their unique value.

We are still working with them and planning to proceed. They constantly improve as we move forward. A great product team to work with. I believe they will grow soon and this will allow them to provide clients with even more value.

We have hired Sine Soul Department to redesign our website and systemize visual identity.

What were your goals for this project?

During the years of our business activity, we have hired several designers and each one has brought something new to the studio’s visual identity. Although we liked our identity overall look and feel, we lacked a system to it. At some point, the number of different design elements got so big that it was frustrating to use them. We wanted to have everything clean and easy to use without a total redesign.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We saw their portfolio on Behance. Branding and a website that they had created for another company caught our attention. I have approached them via email. The response was fast. We started a discussion and their proposal stood out of others we had for consideration.

Describe the scope of their work in detail.

They have started with a research stage to help us better understand the client's portrait, investigate trends on the market and analyze competitors. After a couple iterations, we had a redesign strategy, a website vision, and a project roadmap.

The next stage was the conceptualization. The process was iterative as on the previous stage. For some of the iterations, they have conducted design workshops with our team. In one of these workshops, we had a very well planned brainstorming session that led to a new company motto and advertising campaign that we had shot with their help and rolled out to the public.

Everything was packed and shown to us in a meeting. After we have approved the concept, they have created mockups for all identity elements, website design, and guidelines on how to use everything.

Branding and a website came out exactly as we expected, everything we loved in our visual identity was refreshed without total redesign, and we gained extra value thanks to brainstorming sessions and design workshops.

Also, they have supported us throughout the launch. Their creative director was present while we were shooting a video for a website as a consultant, the graphic designer with a copywriter was polishing mockups.

The core team included creative director, senior graphic designer, web designer, and a copywriter. The project was lead by their creative director. He brought in and out required experts when needed (e.g., illustrator, motion designer, graphic designer)

First of all new messaging and tone of voice of our brand that perfectly highlights our unique value proposition. Systemized brand assets that are a relief for our marketing team and a brand new website.

They worked as a part of our team. Every step was well planned, all details and progress were available for everyone in Trello.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Sine Soul Department team has managed to refresh our identity without a total redesign. Weekly updates and quick responses provided us with a bird's-eye view on the overall scope and where we are now. Very convenient.

No, not at the moment. Everything is being done as expected and delivered on time. We've started a new ongoing project with them.

They had intriguing recommendations from our business partners.

We have started from a kick-off meeting where they helped us to clarify the goal. They explained all of the tasks and timelines in detail, establishing milestones that we needed to achieve at each step. Alex (co-founder) and I worked closely with them to provide all the necessary information.

Also, they have conducted interviews with our production and marketing teams. After briefing and interviewing, they have delivered research documentation and presented us with a few totally different, very crisp design concepts.

When we have selected the solution that we wanted to go with, they proceeded to the next milestone to create all creative assets. The final deliverables included a complete brand book with all creative assets (e.g., name, logo, design templates), and a website design ready for development.

We have worked closely with their creative director Pavlo Doro who has consulted us throughout the process and managed the design team. The design team itself consisted of two Graphic Designers and a Web Designer.
