Engineering supplementation

Shuru viewed and staffed against our delivery needs with a cross-functional squad covering:

• Frontend engineering: UI implementation, feature buildout, bug fixes, performance improvements.
• Backend engineering: API development, integrations, core service enhancements, reliability improvements.
• QA: test planning and execution, regression testing, release validation.
• DevOps: deployment support, CI/CD improvements, environment stability, operational support.

Product & data supplementation

In addition to engineering, Shuru supported:

• Product resource: requirements support, coordination with engineering, feature scoping, sprint planning support.
• Data analytics resource: reporting support, metric definition and analysis, dashboard/ad-hoc insights to support decision-making.

Measurable outcomes that showed progress/success:

• Application growth: Our consumer app achieved ~300% year-on-year growth during the engagement, supported by a more stable and scalable platform.
• Stability & reliability: We materially improved uptime across both internal tools and consumer-facing apps, with fewer production incidents and faster recovery when issues occurred.
• Cost efficiency: We drove meaningful savings in infrastructure and tooling spend through optimization/cleanup (better resource utilization, tighter environments, reduced operational overhead).
• Operational efficiency: Higher uptime and fewer disruptions translated into clear efficiency gains for teams relying on internal systems (less downtime, smoother releases).

Project management was strong and lightweight. They were highly responsive and nimble, and we had weekly check-ins with Shuru senior management to track progress, unblock workflows, and remove bottlenecks quickly. Overall delivery was reliable and on-time, and when priorities shifted, they adapted fast without adding friction.

What stood out most was that the Shuru team are ex-builders themselves. They genuinely understand how fast-growing startups operate—moving quickly, dealing with ambiguity, and prioritizing outcomes over process. They’re willing to get their hands dirty alongside your team to hit business goals, not just “provide resources.”

They also brought a strong working culture across the team, and when issues came up (fit, performance, priorities), they were quick to address them and course-correct rather than letting problems linger.

As a content and strategy partner for a global laptop brand, we were tasked with helping their retail and in-store staff sell more effectively by giving them a quick, reliable way to compare their laptops against competitor models.
We needed a scalable, intuitive, and data-driven tech solution - something that could dynamically pull information from both internal documents and credible web sources to generate accurate, easy-to-understand comparison cards (“battlecards”) in real time.

Since this was a technically complex project beyond our internal capabilities, we partnered with Shuru, given their strong expertise in software development and product engineering.

Mosaic Solutions provides commerce enablement solutions to food and beverage and entertainment/experience providers, including POS, payment processing, online ordering, and open APIs for other order management tools.

What challenge were you trying to address with Shuru?

We needed to update our POS to allow for greater scale and improve the overall process for our combined development team.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Shuru provided software development services. The team started with a discovery session and quickly identified the issues to provide a path to improvement. Shuru took over our sprint and scrum process and made it more process-driven and faster. The team provided a new sprint timeline and process with a meeting cadence. Shuru helped us push out an enhanced version of our POS and analytics to allow for greater flexibility when integrating with other products.

Shuru greatly improved our speed of development and deployment. We also saw an improvement in the scalability of our product and a moderate to significant decrease in product-related support tickets.
