Are there any areas for improvement or something SF AI Labs could have done differently?

Our experience was overwhelmingly positive. If there is one area for improvement, I would suggest providing a larger collection of post implementation learning materials for new employees who join after the project is completed. 
The live training sessions were very effective, but additional recorded walkthroughs would make knowledge transfer even easier over time. 
Other than that, the engagement exceeded our expectations, and we would not hesitate to work with SF AI Labs again on future AI initiatives.

No, as this group is truly world class. However, when we had feedback on how to improve our process, the leadership listened and adapted to our unique process requirements.

We needed help ideating two potential AI-powered products to add to our learning platform. We also needed help building a proof of concept for one of the ideas.

What was the scope of their involvement?

SF AI Labs helped us ideate two potential AI-powered products. The team also created a prototype for one of the products. The prototype was for enhanced and personalized advice on a comparison between two users' work style assessment results. It included a simple site where we could adjust settings for the two users, add more contextual information, and then examine the output from each comparison.

We’re hoping to do more user acceptance testing internally. Our takeaways from the project include a Notion site with project plans and containerized code to be shared with our developers' GitHub repositories.

We had a lot of subject matter expertise in-house, but didn’t have the technical expertise to help us understand the pathway to creating an AI-fueled solution.

What was the scope of their involvement?

SF AI Labs provided us with custom software and AI development consulting. The team built a product roadmap for us; we needed them to create a plan to show us how our solution could be done. We had several rapid sessions with SF AI Labs; we met for about an hour and a half each time over six weeks. During those meetings, we laid out our vision, and they helped us iterate into an actual software design. They also helped us understand what we would need technically, what our stack might look like, and how we might make the product more scalable and revenue-generating.

SF AI Labs was referred to me by a colleague in China, who has herself been a founder multiple times. She didn't go with SF AI Labs because she was looking for a CTO, and Arthur wasn't interested in that. However, when I talked to her about my project, it came to light that Arthur and his team were interested in doing AI consultancy work, so she thought they might be a match for me, which it was — a match made in heaven. They offered exactly what we needed at the time we needed it, so we went with them.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

SF AI Labs helped us save a lot of time. It was their idea to create this plan for us so that we could understand what we needed to do. They were educating us as tech novices, which was very helpful. We didn’t want to get taken advantage of by other people in the AI landscape who would charge us too much money for the correct services, which has happened to me in the past. I've spent thousands of dollars with an AI company. This time, I didn't want to invest a lot and was very careful. 

SF AI Labs really helped us understand what the landscape and a reasonable rate looked like for development if we chose to go with them in the future. I loved working with Arthur and his team because they didn't apply any pressure. They were very honest and open about what they could and couldn't do, and were incredibly supportive. 

Moreover, we are in our startup phase, so we didn't have a lot of money, and we were pre-seed. SF AI Labs worked really rapidly, but in such a thorough manner. Overall, the team exceeded my expectations.

They delivered on time and on budget. They provided us with more than we were expecting. We used Notion for project management.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have deep technical knowledge and a lot of heart. They were interested in learning and understanding what we were trying to accomplish and then iterating and helping to support that without pressing us toward solutions that were more in line with what might be better for them. I really appreciated their approach.

When we engaged them, they were still setting up some of their processes for final report generation. At this point, they've probably solved these issues. However, these were very tiny things that weren’t a big deal.

Be honest with them about what you need. They’re very good with ambiguity and creating a solid plan from brainstorming and creative thinking.

Perhaps the most valuable outcome was that we now have a scalable AI foundation that supports future initiatives instead of isolated automation projects. The investment created long term value across several departments rather than solving only one business challenge.

Our overall experience was extremely positive. If there is one suggestion for improvement, it would be expanding the library of onboarding resources that new employees can reference after implementation. SF AI Labs designed, built, and continues to maintain JSTFYD, a platform purpose-built for theinsurance-claim side of our restoration business, and embedded it into our day-to-day operations. They built the system our team now uses daily for insurance justification, carrier communications, estimate support, and documentation consistency across every claim, along with the claim-recovery tooling our collections department relies on. The work also included building custom AI agents into our workflow to draft carrier communications and claim documentation, configuring our team's emailand communications, and integrating JSTFYD into our existing tools. Beyond the initial build, SF AI Labs has stayed engaged with ongoing iteration, feedback cycles, fixes, SLAs, and day-to-day support.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

he results showed up where it matters most: profit. From 2024 to 2025 our revenue grew from $4.15M to $5.12M (about 23.5%), but net profit grew from roughly $445K to $2.04M — a 358% increase — in the same market, with the same people, vendors, and referral partners. The only change was implementing JSTFYD daily. The clearest example is collections: work that used to require three employees, two of them experienced six-figure salaries, is now handled by a single person with no prior restoration or IICRC experience, working about 27 hours a week and consistently outperforming the previous three-person team. The efficiency gains let us eliminate our Office Manager position entirely. We didn't just grow revenue; we dramatically increased profit while streamlining operations.

They understood our industry. JSTFYD is built around how insurance claims actually work combating delay, deny, defend  not a generic AI tool bolted onto our business. The fact that a brand-new hire could outperform a six-figure team is strong evidence.

Early on there were a few minor software issues to iron out as we rolled it into daily use, but SF AI Labs was responsive and fixed them quickly. This didn't hold back the final outcome.
