I needed assistance with my social media marketing (SMM) strategy to increase my brand awareness and engagement. My goal was to target an international audience while staying true to my company’s mission.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The Setters Agency created my Instagram social media content and ads. They also handled my community management. Initially, we had a discovery call to discuss my project and how they could get involved. 

Then, The Setters Agency showed me copywriting and branding proposals. I asked to create content similar to what I had created until that point, which was educational content. For me, it was important for my social media to stay authentic to my company’s vision and personality.

The Setters Agency created a presentation and asked me to choose fonts, communication tones, and designs. The Setters Agency then spent 1–2 weeks proposing content ideas to understand my brand and what I was trying to communicate. They asked me to choose the designs I liked better, and from there, they started creating my company’s Instagram content.

We worked together from October 2022–January 2023. I finished the engagement with The Setters Agency due to a financial decision since I reduced my working hours.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We had an overall increase in engagement, brand awareness, and followers. I used to manage my social media but didn’t know what to do. The Setters Agency implemented strategies to increase our engagement. I had such a fantastic experience working with The Setters Agency.

How did The Setters Agency perform from a project management standpoint?

At the beginning of our engagement, The Setters Agency asked me which communication method I preferred. I could choose WhatsApp or Google Sheets to keep track of the project. I told them I have severe memory challenges since I have ADHD, and The Setters Agency went out of their way to adapt to my needs. We used both platforms to see which worked better for me. I also travel often and can lose track of things, and The Setters Agency reminded me of tasks when I asked them to.

Moreover, The Setters Agency took my feedback into consideration to create my content. I asked them for the content to be scientifically accurate, and they double-checked all facts with me. They gave me a one-week notice to approve and review things, and when I forgot, they reminded me.

I can’t think of anything for them to improve.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I recommend explaining your requirements clearly at the beginning of your engagement. The Setters Agency is good at understanding their client’s requirements; however, this was the first time I worked with a marketing agency, and it took me a while to realize they could only do as much as I explained to them. 

When we started working together, I expected The Setters Agency to do certain things, but I realized they couldn’t know what I expected and liked if I didn’t tell them first. The more information you give to The Setters Agency, the better their work will be.

Since we have a niche product, we needed assistance to reach a broader audience and enter the market. Since our product wasn’t in the market before, we needed to find our correct target audience.

The Setters Agency has created and managed our social media marketing (SMM) campaigns on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest and Google Ads and Etsy campaigns. We recently started with TikTok ads. Besides the campaigns, The Setters Agency has designed email marketing campaigns and assisted us with content creation since it was something we also needed to address. They've designed the visual content with photos and assets we've provided.

Our company has been in the market for seven years, and most of our audience has been male car fans. One of the challenges we've addressed with The Setters Agency is reaching a female audience that also likes cars. They've designed advertising content with this in mind and created a Christmas campaign targeted towards women, for instance.

Additionally, The Setters Agency has given us consultancy and advice on conversion rate and website and campaign optimization. They've done an analysis to see how we can increase our conversion rate.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Since we started working with The Setters Agency, we’ve seen an overall increase in our main KPIs. Our audience used to be 70%–80% men, and that percentage has decreased since we wanted to reach female audiences. We’ve also seen an increase in our site’s traffic. Our customer acquisition cost (CAC) has gone down, and our average cart value has increased by 15%. 

The Setters Agency is the marketing agency I’ve worked with for the longest time.

How did The Setters Agency perform from a project management standpoint?

The Setters Agency is very proactive and good with follow-up. Sometimes I get lost in other projects, and when I don’t answer their emails, Masha sends me a reminder through Instagram, which I appreciate. Besides emails and Instagram messages, we have a monthly Zoom meeting to check the project’s progress.

The Setters Agency also sends us a monthly report to show us the results of the SMM campaigns. These reports show how much money was invested in each channel, what the CAC was, and the overall ROI.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m most impressed with The Setters Agency’s creativity. They think outside the box and regularly come up with new ideas and angles to fix our issues and improve our campaigns. Something I haven’t liked about other marketing agencies is when they don’t propose new ideas.

We wanted to increase brand awareness and decrease cost per purchase by collaborating with US-based influencers.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I interviewed several vendors and decided to go with The Setters Agency because I liked their influencer marketing portfolio. Also, they sent us a very detailed marketing plan, even before we signed the contract.

We wanted to work with American influencers: Instagram, TikTok, and Youtube. The Setters Agency developed an affiliate system for influencers and an ambassadorship program for best performance.

They created a nice guidebook for influencers on how to talk about our brand and our products and how to highlight its main features. They search for influencers, pitch them, sign the contract with them, give them the tasks, track the sales and report.

Basically, they do everything for us. We just need to approve the bloggers and their content.

3 influencer marketing specialists and 1 project manager. We also worked with their design and copywriting team while working on a guidebook for influencers.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

In 1 year, we collaborated with many bloggers. We received tons of highly curated content for our TikTok and IG channel. And, most importantly, our cost per purchase significantly decreased. The Cost Per Purchase we reached with The Setters Agency was x2 times lower than we set up as their KPI! We are 100% happy with the result as we didn’t expect this low CPC at all.

The guys are very responsive. We work in different time zones, but we always receive replies to our requests within 1 hour.

Early on it took a little bit for the agency to get on board with our outflow and how busy the doctor can be to provide the items they need in a timely manner. They have adapted to work around the doctor’s schedule to help produce consistently professional posts.

They have adapted how the agency works with our team to work with our busy schedule and they are very patient with us. We work ahead to book our monthly progress meetings. Also, they work ahead to come out with their stories and posts to allow time for our team to go through to fact check/grammar check.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What we find most impressive about the agency is their ability to come out with fresh content with little direction. They come up with ideas we may not know about to keep our audience engaged.

One area they can improve is their ability to grammar check or edit their captions.

Since we started working with The Setters Agency, we’ve gotten more followers and engagement on our social media pages. We’ve also secured more patients who were looking to undergo procedures at our clinic, so overall, they’ve helped us tremendously.

We don’t have any complaints. In terms of sticking to the timeline and budget, they’re doing a great job. We communicate via different channels, depending on what’s most convenient for everyone, but we usually use Skype, WhatsApp, and email. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

The Setters Agency is very thorough and detail-oriented. Their follow-through is also tremendously good. We’re impressed by the fact that we’ve seen an overall jump in our online engagement and inquiries, whereas we were missing those before. Their team always has a plan, and that plan is always achieved on time.

The Setters Agency takes care of our social media and digital marketing efforts.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

When we first started working with them, they solely managed our primary doctor’s Instagram account. After working with them for a bit, we brought them on to manage the practice’s Instagram account too.

Since then, they’ve worked on Google Ads and PPC ads on Yandex, a Russian search engine. In addition to our PPC campaigns, they also run Facebook Ads and Instagram Ads. Recently, they started supporting our email marketing efforts for one of our businesses. They’re running targeted electronic direct mail (EDM) campaigns.

In the past, they worked on SEO for us, but we’ve discontinued it. Now we’re talking to them about starting a TikTok channel.

There are at least five people working on our project, but we work directly with Masha (CEO), Karina (Project Manager), and an app manager.  

On top of that, one person manages PPC and Facebook Ads and another person works on electronic direct mail (EDM) marketing.

We have been working with them for over three years. We started in 2017 and we are still working with them.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our head doctor has almost 300,000 followers on his Instagram account, and it’s all because of The Setters Agency. When we started working with them, we had 6,000 followers on one of our Instagram accounts, but now we have over 80,000 followers.

The most important thing is that they drive leads. Now Instagram is our main source of new patients. As a result of their work, the doctor is booked 5–6  months in advance.

How did The Setters Agency perform from a project management standpoint?

We use WhatsApp to communicate with Masha and Karina, but we also use Basecamp to set tasks and send reports.  We are trying to push all communication to Basecamp, but it is a little hard for us to completely switch over to it.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They drive sales. Unlike other companies we’ve worked with in the past, they’ve attracted real followers. Their efforts really work.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Sometimes we need to ask them to do a task multiple times before they begin working on it. However, we could be better about logging targets and deadlines in Basecamp. They ask us to add information there, and when we don’t, it gets lost in the chat.

They’ve been really great and we’ve definitely noticed a big improvement in our leads, especially in Google. We’re also getting more qualified leads — more serious potential patients who are really interested in our services. Moreover, we’ve been doing a lot more consultations since we’ve started with them, just from getting more Google and Facebook leads. In connection with that, our sales have doubled if not tripled.
