I’m a UX consultant for a consulting firm; I consult with clients and implement various UX and design solutions for websites, applications, and online services.

What challenge were you trying to address with SCSS Consulting?

We’re introducing a new health services platform for the perinatal journey. We aim to help small business owners and their employees manage the perinatal journey and facilitate a smooth transition from the workplace to parental leave and vice versa. There can be a lack of communication during this process, so we want this platform to assist employers and employees in communicating the right information at the right time.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Before engaging SCSS Consulting, we went through a discovery and design phase where we created customer journeys to understand what we needed to build and implement on the platform. Once they joined the project, the team executed design options and shared best practices regarding the UI. 

Now, we’re working to build an independent web-based platform from scratch that relies on AWS functionality. They’re also helping us integrate the platform with Django CMS to give users content management capabilities. Once we launch the pilot version, we plan to take measurements and make enhancements to the platform.

What is the team composition?

We work with 11 people from SCSS Consulting; we interact mainly with the project manager, a backend developer, a frontend developer, and Sachit (Founder). 

How did you come to work with SCSS Consulting?

I researched development companies online and came across SCSS Consulting. They stood out because they were knowledgeable and had successfully executed projects using Django in the past. After reading their reviews, we reached out for an initial conversation. Our first interaction with them was very easy; they understood our high-level project requirements and what we needed to accomplish within our tight time frame. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent $57,000 AUD (approximately $40,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve worked together since December 2022; the partnership is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We haven’t launched the pilot yet, so we don’t have any metrics. However, the team has worked hard to understand our design brief and execute fairly complex requirements. They deliver good-quality work that aligns with our initial vision and plan. 

How did SCSS Consulting perform from a project management standpoint?

Overall, we’ve had a great experience; working with SCSS Consulting is easy. They’ve gotten up to speed on the requirements quickly, and they consistently communicate progress during sprints. Our project manager also communicates clearly and is available when we need them. 

Additionally, they’ve taken responsibility for understanding issues and have provided clarity when needed. They’re responsive and do what it takes to get the project across the finish line. We’ve had to meet extremely tight deadlines, and they’ve responded well, despite facing a few unexpected delays. When we’ve missed a deadline, the team has provided clear context as to why, and they’ve effectively reset expectations to keep the project moving. 

We use Google Meet’s chat feature to communicate, which works well for us. We also use ClickUp, which provides transparency into what each team member works on during sprints. We’re in different time zones, which sometimes causes communication delays, but they’re very responsive. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m most impressed by their grasp of the requirements. I also admire their enthusiasm and belief in the project and what we’re trying to achieve in the marketplace. I also appreciate their desire to partner with us and take ownership of the deliverables, despite the aggressive timelines we’ve set. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

We’ve already addressed this, but we needed to refine our process to ensure they were crystal clear on the requirements before building anything.

As long as you provide detailed requirements and designs, SCSS Consulting is a great agency that will build what you need in a professional, respectful way.

We hired SCSS Consulting to build custom advertising software for our business. Our goal was to find a software development company that can help us build a clean, dynamic advertising platform to help streamline our internal processes.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I reached out to approximately five developers to see who was the best fit and after my initial consult with Sachit, it was clear he was going to be best suited for the build. The attention to detail from the initial call. until today has been great. SCSS Consulting have been transparent with regards to pricing and scope of work which has been important to us.

They have been developing a Custom Advertising platform, combined with a Learning Management System. We started with a discovery to map out the road map, identify costs, budgets and ultimately what we build in the first stage. Since then, there have been multiple sprints to complete set milestones, followed by another meeting to review the progress of each milestone after testing.

I have been mainly working with Sachit who is the Founder and now dealing with a combination of Sachit and the team of developers.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The Software is saving a huge amount of time and streamlined our advertising services for our clients.

Communication and time-frames are good, I am provided with regular updates on the progress and scope of work.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

There hasn't been anything (Yet) that they haven't been able to build. The communication is great and you don't feel like you are just another project with dollar signs on it, I didn't get the impression like I have with others that there intentions are "How much can I charge them".

Nothing yet.

I'm the CEO of TechAbility, a technology consulting business specialising in the disability, aged care, health and community sector.

Our most popular consulting service has always been finding the right software for our clients. We has a lot of research and were doing these consulting jobs using spreadsheets and lots if manual effort and time which also cost more for our clients. We wanted to build a database and easy survey tool and autogenerate a report, saving us time and our clients money.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I had used a developer who was too inexperienced and then looked online for more experienced local developers. I found Sachit very easy to deal with and whilst not the cheapest I wanted quality.

We had something already started so it was initially a matter of fixing this, then testing and launching the MVP.

As I have a background as a product manager, I was able to provide direction and only dealt with the project manager who then directed the developers.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We can now turnaround these jobs for our clients in days instead of weeks and it costs our clients less than half what we used to charge and there is minimal effort for us. Everyone has said the survey is easy to use and the report is great.

Sachit was fantastic to work with, and we continue to use them for monitoring and ongoing improvements.

The project manager being the only person I need to deal with.

Aa a small team there is risk if someone is away but they are growing their team.

Our website was 4 years old and required significant re-coding, security improvements and functional improvements

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We searched for a provider that was a single contact - we could talk to and they would manage the job. We wanted experience and we wanted a can-do attitude.

There was a discovery phase where they reviewed the current code and hosting arrangements. Then we agreed on work in a stepwise manner, prioritising work based on security then functionality. It was agile and highly effective

One person was our main contact, and they had 2-3 people who contributed.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

All agreed work was done well - on time and on the agreed budget. The user interface is improved and key new usability functions are in place. Incorrect and outdated elements are removed.

Very open communication style, very easy to decide what to do and how quickly to do it. Nothing was a problem. We had a couple of security scares and they were investigated on weekends and out of hours really promptly, which gave us much peace of mind.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The can-do attitude and the ability to be agile. They had to be patient as sometimes it took time on my end to decide or to test or to give feedback, and they were always patient.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

There are always minor bugs, but these were dealt with quickly.

Sachit was a great communicator and very responsive. He was knowledgeable and gave me the confidence in his team.

Updating and enhancing an existing internal web app built in Angular/NodeJS that analyses data from third party API's and generates reports.

All the tasks were completed in an efficient manner and had minimal rounds of revisions, was great to work with.

Very professional, knowledgeable and responsive. They were able to work in our existing ticketing system and git workflow.

Sachit was based in the same country as I am, so there was no timezone issues and was easy to communicate.

So far, not really. We continue to work together, and it has been great.

I hired scss to develop the app that I had designed. They helped implement the end to end workflow I had set out and also helped with breaking down functionality to be optimal and efficient whenever possible.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I selected SCSS as they were extremely professional and had created a plethora of apps for startups in the pass. It was also very easy for them to interpret my requirements and implement them. I never had any issues

The work included a browser based app on nodejs that integrated with a camera to capture QR codes and pull up the web address. It also needed to append the apis from an Ai library.

The app delivered was to a very high standard and all bugs raised were fixed immediately. The app has never crashed or lagged.
