There are some times where due to the time difference it has been hard to communicate revisions in real time.

Scaletech has been a responsive partner as we have developed the application together. The timeline has been slower than expected, but I think that is not unusual for software development. We have generally communicated through biweekly virtual meetings, a shared Slack channel, and documents, which has worked well for us.

Scaletech employees communicate well, are hardworking, and have a positive attitude! They feel like coworkers.

We engaged with them a little on UI / UX design, but found this to be a weaker area of their services. They were pretty upfront about this, however.
We have spent a few cycles on QA. While Scaltech said they performed QA and gave the application to other their teammates for testing, we have found many bugs ourselves. They have been very responsive at fixing them, but I wish they were more proactive in finding them.

The team adhered to the agreed-upon weekly deadlines throughout the project. However, we experienced a delay of approximately four weeks in delivering the core scope. This seems to be due to an underestimation of the project's complexity and the time required for optimization.

From the beginning, a clearly documented project plan—such as a Gantt chart or defined sprints—would have provided better transparency for all stakeholders. This would have helped us track progress more effectively and identify early on where time was being lost.

At times, it was unclear what the current priorities were, what milestones had been set, and where exactly we stood in terms of progress. A more structured and visible approach to project planning and milestone tracking would have significantly improved alignment and clarity.

Overall, everything was handled very professionally. If I were to mention one area for improvement, it would be the addition of a more transparent project structure. A shared project plan—such as a timeline or sprint documentation—could have helped provide even better clarity on priorities, milestones, and overall progress.

One of its key products, the Infonova Digital Business Platform (B2B2X), is a multi-tenant platform that enables businesses to create, sell, fulfill, bill, and serve customers independently within isolated tenant environments, with resource sharing only when explicitly permitted. To facilitate seamless communication with Infonova, we developed multiple microservices covering billing, data management, API routing, and customer operations. The CloudBill Sync Service manages customer billing, while the Report Sync Service generates reports, downloads them from AWS S3, and uploads them to Open Telekom Cloud (OTC). AWS Athena Integration enables dynamic SQL query execution, storing results in S3 before uploading to OTC, and the Import Service handles bulk file uploads. The Distribution Service (API Gateway) ensures all API requests pass through a validation and routing layer, while Customer Operations include Bulk Operations, Account Group Updates, and Customer Account Creation. The Search Service dynamically retrieves data from the database, allowing flexible inclusion or exclusion of related entities based on Infonova’s request parameters. Additionally, we are developing the Camunda Engine Service, leveraging Camunda BPM to automate order event processing. The aim was to develop a mobile app for IOS on which users can upload short videos and these are then played against other videos. It was important here that the videos created by users are played immediately and that there is no delay. A complex admin area was required for administration and monitoring. It was also important that videos with sensitive content were automatically filtered out.

We had a functional prototype relatively quickly, with which we were able to test the concept. That was good, as we had to test the idea first due to a limited budget before we could invest more. Thanks to the quick MVP, we were able to confirm the theory and convince investors to finance the full development and also knew immediately where we still needed to make adjustments.

Through weekly meetings and regular status updates, we were always able to monitor and intervene in the process. Deadlines were almost always met and everything was great.

The only problem you can mention is the cultural difference from time to time. In the German market, we place a lot of emphasis on accuracy and quality, whereas Scaletech prioritises working solutions and speed. However, with coordinated cooperation, the issue of QA is manageable and speeds up the process enormously. However, if you expect to get a perfect app without doing anything yourself, you have to look at yourself first before you look for someone else to blame
