Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am the CEO of a customer engagement tool startup which allows customers to run customized giveaways through an entry form. The tool helps companies increase their audience by having users enter giveaways and gain additional entries through a host of ways on social media like following and retweeting on Twitter and liking a Facebook page.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with RootedGlobal?

I am a programmer with an extensive background in full stack engineering, but this project is incredibly complex and has many moving parts. I was handling most of the programming at first, but the next level required another tier of expertise from a professional like RootedGlobal.
 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement? 

I brought RootedGlobal on board to help with several social API integrations. They are skilled at advanced programming that requires extensive study. The team is programmatically connecting APIs for Twitter, Pinterest, Facebook, and other social media. They’re also managing feature and email integrations through MailChimp, AWeber, Constant Contact, Mad Mini, Iterable, and Active Campaign. 

We are creating a heavy user data platform with a fully customizable third-party widget to embed into third-party sites to communicate with the browser.  It demands extensive security and browser compatibility since millions of people will access the platform from every browser that exists. Since this process is never-ending, we are continually adding new features and ways users can enter our system.

What is the team composition?

I work with Narain (Founder, RootedGlobal).

How did you come to work with RootedGlobal?

I found RootedGlobal on Upwork. Our engagement started as part-time. After a few months, I needed them full-time, and we came to an agreement with a full annual salary.

How much have you invested in them?

I have invested $35,000 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in November 2017 and have an ongoing engagement.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The customer engagement tool is excellent. Our users love it. We are already up to a substantial number of both paid and free users.

How did RootedGlobal perform from a project management standpoint?

We use Trello to manage tasks and share code using tools like Git Repository and Empower. Regarding communication, we hold a Zoom call twice daily. The founder is awesome and highly skilled at his job.  He is honest and genuinely a nice person.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Narain (Founder, RootedGlobal) is an incredibly advanced programmer. RootedGlobal is creative, passionate, and believes in our project. Pragmatic and careful, they always do things the right way and never rush. Working together has been a great experience.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. RootedGlobal has been great.

It is really easy to work together. RootedGlobal does a great job.
