Roboto Studio conducted a comprehensive audit of our Sanity website, identifying performance issues, redundant code, and architectural problems that had built up over multiple iterations. They refactored our front-end components to optimize rendering and reduce bundle sizes, implemented lazy loading and image optimization strategies, and cleaned up our Sanity schema to eliminate unused fields and improve query efficiency. The team also upgraded our build pipeline and caching strategies to improve page load times. Throughout the project, they documented their changes thoroughly and provided our internal team with best practices for maintaining the improvements long-term.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our core web vitals improved dramatically across all metrics, with Largest Contentful Paint dropping by nearly 40% and Cumulative Layout Shift virtually eliminated. The site now loads noticeably faster on both desktop and mobile, and our SEO performance has started trending upward. They also developed a best-in-class module to allow us to run A/B testing on our site for the first time.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What has impressed us most is their ability to stay at the forefront of development trends. They consistently and proactively bring new ideas to help us improve our website, SEO, and AEO. If they had just stuck to the basic roadmap they would still be a very good agency, but their company-wide drive to constantly learn and optimize makes them special.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Roboto Studio could have done differently?

It would have been helpful to receive a more detailed roadmap upfront showing which optimizations would be tackled in which order, as this would have helped us set internal expectations about when specific improvements would go live.

Roboto Studio executed a complete platform migration, moving us from WordPress to a modern tech stack built on Sanity CMS and Next.js. They redesigned the entire user interface with a focus on clarity and conversion, restructuring our navigation to help visitors find the right cell mimic products faster. The team built out full e-commerce functionality, integrating payment processing, inventory management, and product configuration tools. They optimized every page for mobile devices, ensuring our technical specifications and product details render perfectly on any screen size. The project included cross-platform integration work to connect our new frontend with existing backend systems. Throughout development, they maintained our brand identity while modernizing the visual design to better reflect our position as a precision instrumentation company.

Since launch, we've seen significant improvements in how users interact with our product catalog and move through the purchase process.  The new navigation structure has helped us improve support content for finding specific products or technical documentation, resulting in increased engagement and conversion.

They use a combination of Slack and project management tools to keep everything organized, which worked well given the technical complexity of migrating our product data. We had regular check-ins where they walked us through progress on the CMS setup and e-commerce integration. The workflow stayed smooth even when we needed to adjust product categorization mid-project, and they kept us informed whenever they encountered compatibility issues with our backend systems.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Roboto Studio could have done differently?

It would have been helpful to have more detailed documentation during the handoff phase, particularly regarding the custom CMS workflows they built to manage product variants and technical specifications.

Roboto Studio led the strategic and technical redevelopment of the Jamb website, with a focus on improving product discoverability, refining information architecture, and elevating the digital presentation of both antique and reproduction collections.
Key deliverables included the implementation of an advanced, search-led user experience (including the integration of Algolia to support detailed, attribute-based queries such as material, period and dimensions), the restructuring of product data to enable more precise categorisation and filtering, and the development of refined product page templates aligned with Jamb’s architectural and material-led design language.
The scope also covered guidance on internationalisation and content scalability within Sanity CMS, ensuring the platform could support multilingual expansion and increasing inventory. In addition, Roboto collaborated on wireframing and UX refinement, maintaining the site’s existing sense of restraint and luxury while introducing more robust functionality tailored to the nature of Jamb’s inventory.

The project’s success is best understood in terms of the structural, experiential and technical improvements it has delivered. The new website provides a clearer, more coherent framework for presenting Jamb’s collections online, with a stronger emphasis on usability, consistency and long-term scalability. Product information is now more clearly organised, the overall navigation experience is more intuitive, and the platform is better equipped to support the breadth and specificity of Jamb’s inventory.

A key outcome has been the creation of a more robust digital foundation for future growth. The site is now better positioned to accommodate ongoing content development, collection expansion and future enhancements without requiring fundamental redevelopment. This is particularly important for a business such as Jamb, where the inventory is varied, specialist and continually evolving.

The project has also delivered important SEO improvements. By restructuring content more clearly, refining page architecture and strengthening the technical foundations of the site, the new platform is better placed to support organic visibility and indexing over time. This creates a stronger basis for Jamb’s collections, editorial content and individual product pages to perform more effectively in search, particularly for the highly specific terms and product categories that are central to the business.

They were responsive to our needs, proactively offering solutions rather than simply executing requests. This was particularly valuable in areas such as UX and platform architecture, where they brought forward-thinking recommendations that balanced immediate usability with long-term scalability.

Despite the complexity of the build, key deliverables were met within agreed timeframes, and any adjustments were handled transparently and efficiently. Are there any areas for improvement or something Roboto Studio could have done differently?

They did everything possible at the time; however, a slightly more structured hand-holding/hand-over period at the end would be the only possible improvement. That wouldn’t in any way stop me from referring them to a potential client; they were excellent throughout.

I am the sole founder of the business, we were initially registered as Northern Soul Lifestyle Limited in 2016 but went on to change to Appnin Group LTD to cover all facets of the business

For what projects/services did your company hire Roboto Studio?

Originally we hired Roboto Studio for a simple build of a website. This was purely to build a self-hosted ticket-selling site, rather than going through ticketmaster etc. We were then so impressed with the results of the events website we went on to build a further 4 sites with Roboto Studio

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to easily be able to add limited run events in the Nottinghamshire area, and ensure we could be found on Google when searching the specific event names

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

Originally I met the founder (Jono) RSVIP networking event in Nottingham. We ended up selecting Roboto after seeing their extensive experience with e-com, and previous web design.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

I've worked with Roboto Studio over a period of four years, consistently upgrading, evolving and optimising my sites. Their work is spread over 4 different sites, each being a unique build for their respective sites. They're all using Wordpress as I'm very happy with how it feels to edit using the CMS, and they're all tailored to be as easy as possible to update and change.

We've most recently altered the way we are able to add events on the website using the "ti.to" ticketing system, which I personally find so easy to use, and all inclusive with the ability to now scan tickets from those that buy on the website. We've also automated our entire process for taking disco requests.

We're now using TypeForm as it pulls directly into my trello boards so that it's a seamless process for us and takes a lot of the faff out of sending an email with a document attached.

What was the team composition?

They handled pretty much all customer facing web work, the infrastructure of how we work as a business and have been an integral part of the company itself. Due to the size of the project, we continued to work with two members of staff over the period of 4 years, continuously updated and iterating on current sites

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

I think the fact that we expanded from one e-commerce site, to four separate individual sites with 2 e-commerce platforms is enough in itself. We have expanded into the discos, clothing, workwear and events market - which has also been streamlined with the added surge of incoming leads

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

We handled all project management through trello as this was my tool of choice and we were already using it for fulfilling orders. This has been expanded to not only be a valuable project management tool but Roboto has included a lot of automation from the appnin discos side within this same tool for us, as it's our bread and butter.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their ability to adapt on the fly to our requirements with Trello impressed us. And understanding how to tailor every content management system to our unique needs. This includes now utilising typeform to handle a lot of our incoming leads into Trello. It's also worth mentioning the significant performance boosts they brought to Appnin Group, and also the ability to reduce hosting costs with a much simpler faster, host.

There's not really any I can think of, it's definitely been an experience seeing all the effort that goes into producing a seamless experience with 4 different sites.
